I’m pretty sure 102 inch wide is the Federal maximum you can be. Your trailer will be 6 inches wider. Are you concern this could be an issue? Did the builders have any concerns building it 108 inches wide?

    You are correct.

    Not concerned no.

    No sir.

Watching this with great interest. I’m getting ready to order a stacker although I think mine will be a 22’ extended v-nose. Curious what the estimate is on yours for dry weight? I’m guessing you’re going to be well over 10k pounds empty? Are you adding fuel and/or water tanks? I’m leaning toward Intech but haven’t decided for certain yet. I will almost certainly go all aluminum.  Curious what other builders you looked at? What are you saving $$ wise on an approx % basis?

There was no estimate but I’m hoping under 9k dry... we will see though.

Yes but that’s for later in the thread lol.

Intech was top of my list, but it was 100k build and I didn’t want to spend that. Wonderful trailers though!

Intech, Ultra, universal, trailers unlimited are who I spoke with and or received quotes.

My quotes ranged from 79-115k! I’m less than the lower number if I don’t keep adding things....

Looking forward to watching the progress. Always wondered who ended up with Joshua Lopour's trailer that New Trend Custom Trailer built for him. I hauled that thing around for him a few times. Kind of odd the way he had them do the loft and the height above the front bench. But it worked.

    Thank you!

I had to drive down to Houston to pick it up from him as that’s where he moved to after Canada.

When I was looking at buying it, you had posted a few things about it so I stalked you to learn as much about it as I could lol.

I put a lot of miles on that trailer and it was well built. It’s now back in Cali with a new owner.

  4. Within the first few weeks they had the chassis welded and wires roughly routed, ready for skin.

In this picture you can see the front loft, as well as the v nose man door and generator door driver side.

I wanted to fit my Honda 3000 permanently in the trailer. Then having some more exterior storage is always wanted so we had a man door to access the area, and flattened the front wall.

The loft ended up being about 10’ long. It will have Capacity to hold a few dirt bikes, compressor, sub and hopefully some other items we can throw up there that we don’t use all that often.

The side door is a 48” double door. Just to add a little room getting in and out, plus if I want to pull in a machine to work on it.

  5. In two weeks they had the walls mostly tacked up.

I went with 3-7k axles. They should handle the weight but will be pushed near their limits..

The trailer is max legal height of 13’6” tall ish. However it is 108” wide so I could have a 104” wide door to fit my 102” Bfd car with paddles on.

It is 28’ long plus the v nose over the tongue.

  6. Since everyone seems to enjoy build threads, I figured I’d do one of the trailer I have being built.
first a little background to how I come to these guys and what I am building.

I already had a loft style stacker trailer that Josh Lepuer (spell?) did a build thread on in the old forum in 2015. It was a 24’ trailers the had a loft up front for a sxs to sit on and then a sand car could sit down behind it.

It worked good to haul those two things. But it was limited to those two machines and a few dirt bikes.

We have since added another sand car and therefore needed a way to haul two, a sxs and dirt bikes.. 😅

I started pricing out trailers long before we purchased another car as I knew it was coming. I had multiple shops get me pricing but as pricing was increasing I kept removing desired items to try and get to a budget I could live with.

I really wanted an aluminum trailer for nothing more than the corrosion resistance. Driving through Utah in the winter is hard on steel.. however to get it the size I wanted it was way over my budget.

I priced a couple used ones, multiple steel ones, and some manufacturers would t build it the size I wanted anyhow…

By happens chance I had a few friends in the Gram that follow a new builder that I hadn’t heard of. So I checked out what he was doing. I spoke with him and had him run some numbers.

I liked them enough I had an employee go to there place and meet with them while he was on a trip to Cali.

These folks are really just starting out, don’t have a real shop yet. But have years of experience, and it’s a family working together. Checked all the boxes that I liked so we laid down a deposit with Vway Custom Trailers and they ordered steel.

That was right about the first of the year.

In the first week they had the frame tacked together.

That is awesome. Love the sound. It is pretty quiet. Would love to ride some powder like that someday.

Thank you! We dream of days like that for sure!

When the snow isn’t so deep it’s not as quiet. I’ve since sold that sled and had another on order… but with all the troubles getting parts it isn’t going to show up this season. 👎

If you hit just about any spot from the Us border down to central Utah you can get into snow like that. Of course being there right after a storm gets you the good stuff.

More pics of that sled? HP, Track size, etc?

Yamaha Viper. 162” track. Evolution turbo. In this video I’m running about 12 lbs on pump gas. So about 220 hp. She was built to handle about 280.

  9. I am not from that area so I apologize. I am however a home builder and spoke with a gentlemen from Prescott at length that was also a builder during our New Years trip to Glamis.

He builds smaller homes 1500-2000 sq ft, and has averaged about 285-300 a square foot this last year.

We are north of 300 a foot for upper end homes up this way.

  10. When it gets deeper than this the little blue tractor gets put away for my old gal. Not uncommon to have 15-20’ snow piles..

in the other picture I get to look at a ski resort while I freeze working in it..

ok so not cool but still snow related..

Ive been a snowmobiler for all my adult life… just having a hard time enjoying it as I get older and would rather be warm..

Olds was packed almost all the time.

one trip to vendors was enough as holy hell there was people everywhere!

    Dunes towards swingset were great!

Did a border wall run Saturday and there are rzr ruts down much of it now.

    Gordons Well was packed!

Seen some poor folks rig go up in flames on turkey day..

It was a great time as always, but the busiest I’ve seen so far.

    Didnt take many pics..

  12. Here’s my guess..

Gen 4 and up same car midrail down with a few exceptions.

Gen 6 96” wide aluminum body.

gtx same 96” wide fiberglass body.

gtu 102 wide, 3.5 shocks in the rear fiberglass body.

f9 same 102, 3.5, fiberglass body is different, top of the line everything no exceptions.

    Howd I do do Grant?!

LOL 1.2Mil,  that is pretty much the most expensive place in idaho LOL,   i love when we drive up to Idaho and all the signs say (want to double your money list and sell to a Californian)  so at that mentality i think 600,000 is a fair price,

I would bet it has no Dune access, all the dunes are surrounded by farm land,  we dropped our dog off at the local dog sitter " we are backed up to the dunes "  when we left camp is was closer to Rexburg than it was to the dunes almost a 10 minute drive,

everyone living there thinks they are backed up to the Dunes,  LOL

It does have dune access via Idaho dunes. Their access comes out right at the bridge before the store.

But damn! 500 more K from last year?! They are really trying to take advantage of the market!

Ive got a buck to throw in if I can just camp there for free… 🤣

the problem with this set up  is the leach field is meant for liquid only.by I installing a ejector pump is it takes the solid and liquefies it but not enough of a liquid and its gets pasty.and over time sending that into the leach field it will clog the weeping holes in the pipes or tank and you will have back ups as the water will not drain through.now this is the theory the NJ plumbing code goes by for longer then I have been doing plumbing.so maybe its just sank in my brain this will happen.but for as expensive as septics are when Crap goes bad or to replace a leach field I would run it on a ejector pump but that's just me.i also have my tank pumped every year in july.i weather spend 500 bucks to pump my 1,500 gallon tank then to replace my leach field for 10 to 14,000 and have my front yard all dug up.soap is also a killer of septics so I also have removed my cloths washer from the plumbing system and have a gray well on the side of my house with a plastic 55 gallon drum loaded with blue stone.but for  for as much as you will use the bathroom at a   house/shop  chances are you will never have a problem cuz it will mostly be you just pissing in there.but for me trenching my yard and under fences and killing bushes and grass its easer for me to make a real mini septic outside my new pole barn, and my area is already all dug up so no extra propter  damage will accrue.

While I’ll agree this can happen if not enough time is left in the tank for separations, a properly sized tank will hold enough reserve of water for the small amount of ejections that happen from a shop.

imagine a hole with a basement that is underground. It too needs an ejection pump to lift the waste it it helps tank.

it’s common practice and I have no less than 30 homes using a similar system… including my own.

  15. 19 hours ago, Adam G said:

I just found out the septic tank and leach field is on the opposite side of the property from where I wanted to put the shop. This definitely could make it interesting for tying into the existing septic system. One suggestion I had was to install a separate system for the shop. Now we’re talking about adding even more to the budget. The wifies pool may have to get pushed back even further.

They make ejection pumps that will push it there. Or gravity drain it all the way close to the front of the septic tank, then install a ejection tank and pump to pump it up into the tank.

Here is one I did on a shop last year like that.
