  1. I have 2 of them, but they need a little work. One doesn't put out 120v and the other started smoking a bit. They have both been sitting for at least a year. Make me an offer. I'm in Poway (north/east San Diego)

I’m in the planning stages of a Tecate to Cabo trip with 3 to 5 cars max.

When are you planning to go? That's a great trip!! I've done it in my Raptor a few times. It would be a long trip in a SxS. Let me know if you have any openings.

  3. My buddy has a Rivian. It is cool and FAST as F%*K. But he can't tow his boat from San Diego to Havasu. I would think that is "limited capabilities"

I am curious how the longevity will be. Some of the "cool tech" stuff to me is a PITA. like to move the AC vents, it is all electronic. You have to "move" them on the touch screen to get the vent to blow in a different direction. To me (a 50+ year old) that is stupid. To a kid, it might be cool. But I like my trucks to last 20+ years. The next generation doesn't keep stuff long term.

Our neighbor has a Tesla. I have seen the Service Tech car there a few times. I guess that is kind of nice they can come to you, as opposed to my truck sitting at the Ford Dealer for days.

  4. 13.5 was 3 rings deep. If you were on the inner circle, you couldn't leave. The original 70 regattas were a blast! I even remember some dang old rock band playing out there, They had a kick ass drummer. We even had Pimp Shack Dave sightings and party's at Bohicas disco lounge. If we got drunk enough we would slum over to tent alley.

  5. We are getting hammer by them here in Poway. We have bought the hanging zappers, but it freaks the dogs out. We have the one on the first post, but hasn't done much. I know my neighbors have rain barrels and maybe that is the source. I'm going to do the bleach water down the drains. I didn't think of that. I can't even go on our backyard after 5pm. I think they are all just sitting on the fence waiting for me to walk outside.

I hooked this SuperHandy electric trailer dolly up to my boat and trailer (3500lbs) and drug it out of the garage and downside yard no problem. batteries came fully charged. yes, you have to pay attention to how much power you use on the switch and yes it will lift and move around on you but with no issues whatsoever. made my life EASY!!! if you just hit full power on the switch it's going to spin all day on you. I barely use the power and move it no problem. the angle finder on my side yard said 4 degrees incline and absolutely zero issues. I also have a tandem trailer and it maneuvers it around with ease.

    Is that the $1300 model?

Your showing up to the party a little late to start electrical.

Where does the power come in at? Overhead or underground ?

How do you plan on getting from where it comes in to the top  or bottom lights?

Come on Captain Buzzkill. :) There is a junction box at the rear left column, power has been roughed in there. I am going to have to run some bamboo conduit up to the top area (for lights, ceiling fan), then back down on another column to get into the bar area. I might just put plugs on the columns so that people can charge phones. Maybe a couple plugs in the backsplash of the upper bar area.

Phillips Hue lighting was recommended but it is a little pricy. The Govee RGBIC outdoor strip looks like its decent. It comes in 32' long strips, which would be just about perfect.

  8. Here is the weekend update.

    Also some questions on lighting....

I am at the point that I need to start laying out my electrical. I was thinking of LED strip lighting in the upper canopy. And also under the overhang on the bar. I have never messed with the LED strip lighting. I'm guessing I would need to run one strand of lights high and another below the bar, but can they work together? Or would I have 2 remotes and I would have to manually program them the same color/theme? What are the brand of choice for LED lights? I looked at amazon and there are a lot of styles/brands. Sometimes you get what you pay for, so I am not really looking for the cheapest as I don't want them crapping out in 6 months. Thanks!

We were doing Solar Installs a few years back and would have to get into the attic for the install.

On one particular house in a nice part of Scottsdale we arrived and the owners were ready to leave for Vegas for the time we were working on the home.  They were packed and ready to go when the homeowner tells them we will be back in four days. Foreman says OK the attic access is in the garage correct, Nope.  So now they have the wife sitting in the car ready for her Vegas trip and we are scrambling to get the attic work done.

Well if you think in the workers haste he put his foot thru the ceiling you would only be half right, As he fell  thru he also broke the fire sprinkler pipe he was straddling, So we had water damage as well.

Drywall Damage, Water damage and a pissed off lady who wanted to go to Vegas instead of watching construction workers all day.

They were such a PITA. They expected all new insulation in the attic and for us to pay to repaint just about the entire house. Plus for the lost weekend in Vegas.

We did over 300 of those installs and that was the one and only time that happened.

Damn fire sprinklers......what kind of jerk would own a fire sprinkler company???? idiots.

  10. Here are the latest pictures of the backyard remodel. I haven't gotten much work done in the last month as it was Over-The-Line season. Now it's time to get back to work. I am laying our the bar area and trying to figure out what/how we want it. I am thinking "U" shaped with a griddle. I have multiple BBQ's/smokers so no need for a built in.
