One thing I did when my kids were Very Young and I would take them riding is I would lead them out on a ride and then we would get to a point to stop and I would telll them You Lead us back to camp. I would say I am right behind you but lead us back to camp.In my opinion it taught them to look around and see other campers and landmarks etc. I always said if something happened on our ride they would know how too get back to camp. Just a few Years back some friends were camping with us and they just let their daughter ride in a circle around camp.I jumped on the moms dirt bike and said lets go for a ride. we were at JV and only rode to the lakebed no big deal but I stopped told her lead us back. she said I can't. I said yes you can I am right here. we got back she was so excited told her parents were she rode too and led back. They came up and questioned me for doing this I said they got to learn. The rest of the weekend she would ask me if we could go on rides and then lead back. No more circles around camp.

Also yes I have done the same thing as LORD and bought race radio's for people and stuff to get people set up and sometimes Crap still happens that we don't Plan for.I am NOT gonna Judge the parents here as its not my job to do so and Hopefully they learned a lesson. I think emotions are High in this case because all of us know this could easily of gone very Bad and that would Hurt us all.Thank God the Boy was found and returned to His parents. Thank God a GOOD man is who found him. Thank God that all of US as an Off road community came together for even a short time to try to find this little boy.

Great way to train the kids Trap. Peace

Just an FYI....Don't wait until you're framed up to order windows and doors. Most manufacturers are 2 months out minimum.

We went to BMC Design Center in Fort Worth Wednesday. Picked out a couple different types of windows to get quoted. PELLA Windows and Doors just sent their quote over today. Yes, we're staying way ahead of the curve. Plumbing Fixtures have already been chosen. So have all the appliances. Garage Doors have to get ordered today because the Industry is going crazy with  "PRICE INCREASES"

The plumber brought out his Excavator yesterday to the site. Bringing his pipe today. Supposed to rain this weekend so he'll start trenching and laying the pipe Monday. Pretty Cool how that works. They set all the pipes, fill with water. City comes by for an inspection / pressure test etc..... Builder will leave water in pipes for the entire pour of the foundation and Frame of the house. Definitely want to catch any leaks before the concrete dry's.

The attached photo is our Trash Pump. This dude pumps 330 gals a minute . It ROCKS. The creek rises all the way to our back property line when it Rains like crazy. Lake level rises. Guess how the pond got filled? Peace

  3. AC has the speed to dominate this year. I remember when Carmichael went to the Big Boy Class. He learned quickly.....I'll win if I stay off the ground. He only went fast enough to finish first. When Stewart arrived, he said, I ain't chasing this guy the rest of my life and did the smart thing, RETIRED! Peace

  4. One of the things we've learned about building a home.......Weather has everything to do with it. Can't work in mud!

We had a break from rain and was able to get the form boards in, dig 69 piers @ 12" diameter / 10' deep. Poured concrete in piers the same day. Waited another week before we could dig the beams. Now waiting on the sun to come out to install plumbing before we pour the foundation. NOTE: The soil test did NOT call for piers to be dug/installed. The builder insisted! He calls it "HOMEOWNER INSURANCE". I'm a firm believer in a solid foundation. Plus, the extra money spent is good money spent! Lord knows I've thrown money out the window in the past. Haven't we all? (I DON'T KNOW WHY PHOTO's COMING OUT SIDEWAYS??!! ) Anyone smarter than me please help right the ship. Peace

Well and septic will be 10 to 15 thousand.

Our Septic will run $12,000. The well ran $9,000. If you're getting both for 15k you're getting a smoking deal. Our house has five rooms to it. I believe the size of the septic tank is based on rooms in your home. Not toilets like I thought at first. Peace

  6. We built a waterfall. Filled the pond. Bought a pump and had some fun for a few years. The horses loved the water. Filled the pond with some fish from Grapevine Lake. Had to take them back to the lake when we decided to build a BIGGER pond. Everything is bigger in Texas! Peace

  7. We cut down this huge tree. Called it the BEE TREE. Inside the tree was a large bee hive. One day they (bees) were gone. Luckily before the tree fell on the house next door. Some of you were there to smell that wood. It got burnt in Wash 22. Peace

  8. We've been playing in the dirt for quite some time. Renting equipment to dig the pond. Got tired of renting and not owning the machinery. . That's why we bought the Kubota's. Da chEFF prefers to own his stuff. Leasing / renting has never been my thing. The horses loved us cutting down the trees. Peace
