Nice dual sports my, bros cars was a heavy gal got around all over in the sand with 35s like Mr.Wood said skinny pedal is your friend. I will say knowing where your going with heavy cars in the sand without paddles helps, bring friends with jeeps they usually live using their 4 wheel drives and winches 

Looks similar to Superstition Mt. area east of San Diego we take rails with dirt tires and slide all over the smaller dunes low air pressure get you around pretty good

A good way to get in is to apply and start your apprenticeship outside of Califorina ie. Little Rock, Charlotte are taking application now. I herd local 18 which is LA,SD and Vegas will be taking application in October but only 500.

Bought this 01 8.1/Allison 2 wheel drive bout 8 years ago for 10k got about 5k in power steering pump, carrier bering, stereo system, and basic maintenance. Tow a pontoon few time a year to the river and 24’ enclosed mid size travel car and dirt bikes few times a season no problem but gas mileage. I have a company truck for daily driving, so it’s sits a lot Iv put 15k on it over the 8 years. Seems like the gasser stores/sits better, had an 08 Dually dmax I didn’t drive enough to burn the exhaust so I had to run it just to clear the fault. And the 01 has a cassette player, a very nice option IMHO.
