Nice! Looks like La Bomba? Last year we stepped up our game and stayed at Las Palmeras which was alot nicer that staying in the city, this July staying at Punta Conejo resort which is the nicest of all. We too fly out of TJ. Curious if you ever surfed the beach break on the other side of the city, and through the Indian town? If there's some West in the swell, and the devil winds are blowing, its offshore and pumping. Spooky place though, just a weird vibe. Just 3 of us out and there would be these massive schools of stingrays that would swim right at us and then part, half going to the left, other to the right. Was going on for about an hour when a giant Bullshark surfaced about 15' from my boy. That thing had been chasing and eating those the whole time. Never paddled so hard in our lives! Scored though.

Haha. I don't disagree, TJ has always scared the ish out of me and I never stop when I go thorough it. Same with Rosarito btw. Have you been to Salina Cruz? You fly into Huatulco and get picked up by a taxi and drive 2 1/2hours to the camps, which is about an hour from Guatemala. The surfers that go their are literally the ONLY gringos for hundreds of miles. There's no tourism whatsoever. My son and I got chased in by a huge Bull shark our 1st time down there. Twice, I've had our guide (different trips and different guides) make calls to what they said were family members that were supposedly connected to the cartel, to "talk" to some locals that were giving us a hard time. After those calls, both guys were pretty much in tears and apologizing, promising to never act out again. The area is gnarly. That said, we had a great time and am going again in a little over a month.

Oh yeah buddy! Been there every year for the last 4 years. It got more crowded once the world surf tour went through. We stay in a poor little village in the back of some guys house, nothing fancy. He bangs on the door at 4 am, we load up and we go surf our brains out from sun up till we’re beat. This last trip we got it good, got some cranking surf.
We fly out of Tijuana, so I guess I go across the border, apparently according to Jesse James I’m not a total pussy…

Heres the last trip, no complaints, except that I was worn out.

X2.  Looking forward to my annual surf trip to Salina Cruz, in Oaxaca this July, and hopefully Cabo next month.

Come on now bro. Salina Cruz is totally different than crossing the boarder and going down into TJ.

Baja is fine and the racing will continue.  Lots of teams down there now prerunning the Baja 500 scheduled in two weeks.

  5. I’m 38, I still skate. Grew up surfing skating and snowboarding, and still do it all.

You can do it man, have fun. Just watch the small pebbles/rocks, they will get you every time.

here’s a trip to mainland Mexico in January. I kinda still got it

Wasn't someone on FB boasting about how he got 90k for his RZR? People sure have a lot more money than me that's for sure.

Ha just because they spend it doesn’t mean they have it.

  7. That guy is an idiot. Both his financial choices and his CAPITALS, spelling, punctuations, etc…

Geez, good luck on selling that thing. You need someone as dumb as he is to buy it from him.

    It looks cool though.

In ten years we have had three (out of hundreds) customers lose a freezer and its contents to power outages/tripped gfi's and a freezer that just quit working. Pro-tip- your homeowners policy covers this type of loss with zero deductible for up to $1500. For an additional $19 per year I moved my limits up to $10000 per occurrence because I have multiple freezers.

Ruined a quarter beef and a half pig. The trash bag in the bottom of the picture was full of meat already when I took the picture.  We had to just eat the cost.

Regarding the video, I think it would have to have some serious performance enhancements to do what the video shows.

Well maybe this is a good place to make an announcement that I bought a 2021 Ram Crew Cab 4x4 2500 Cummins Turbo Diesel yesterday.

When I joined this website and got into off-roading in 2018, I was surprised with what kind of equipment people buy to come to the dunes, like big trucks and toy haulers.  I had my 2007 Dodge Ram 1500, and my small flat bed trailer, and that was it.  I didn't know anything about diesels, and the name Mega Desert Diesel really caught my attention.  I even saw this huge customized diesel pickup one day on the I10 (it may have been a 5500), and I half-jokingly said to myself "Maybe THAT is the Mega Desert Diesel!!?".

Anyway, even though this purchase was not all about off-roading, now I have my 2500 diesel.  And driving it home from the dealer last night, even though I wasn't trying to push it, I felt that turbo power.

CONGRATS BUDDY!!! That’s awesome, you’re gonna love that truck. Just don’t put the def fluid in the fuel tank like a buddy of mine did in his ford. Now You gotta start a thread and post some pictures! Can’t wait to see it.

ESCO tagged me on Facebook with this thread! I've been absent from GD.com for a long time! Now I'll burn what's left of my afternoon catching up on threads :) Hit me with questions anytime 928-486-4043. We've been at it quite awhile now and constantly try to improve. It's safe to say that we are at the top of our game.

Kinda cool deal- our story got picked up by a production company that came out and did a mini documentary about Amy and I along with the life we built once we left the sand. Not much about the business side of Fort Rock Farms but gives you a great look at what we do.

Someone posted this on here awhile back and I watched it several times. Super captivating.  I read your whole threat you had posted also, once before the site crash and also on your website. You guys are an awesome inspiration, I wish I had the guts and capability to do what you have completed. I am working towards and planning for something like that in the future for my family, just on a smaller scale. Keep up the great work, I hope to be able to meet you guys some day.

  12. California has such steep Envirmental regulations now all across the board, but doesn’t have a problem ruining a massive natural region for mining purposes. It’s not about the environment, it’s all about the money.  They are ruining the earth.

I've been duning for 30 years and have never seen sand food.    We were riding the 70s on the berm track and saw some on the way back to gecko.   There was one in the middle of the trail (that caught my eye) and then clusters of it just off the trail.   Rare and cool!

I had to look it up. That is extremely neat. I am always blown away at the beauty in disguise on this planet.

dont we need to start another thread for another year of disappointment???

    No disappointment here.

I have enjoyed watching the padres play the past 4 years, and I have really gotten into it. Never been a sports fan otherwise.
Regardless, when the pads loose, I am still proud of them and enjoy rooting for them.
    …especially no no Musgrove!
