I'm married into govt, and she got CalPers, too. Insane how her retirement is panning out. Probably retire at 57 and will get pretty much same as she's making now. Crazy!

We've done it!
I had a stubborn friend from Belarus that begged me to go to Glamis, and asked if he can bring a snowboard to ski the dunes. I should've known he was serious. Wouldn't stop asking about the approaching date and kept asking what to wear. Yea, he wore the complete opposite. Complete with rubber ducky shorts and Hawaiian shirt. Most annoying 22yr old at the time but I love the guy. He's one legit crazy mofo. Made our day watching him get it!
We used the steep dune to the right of Olds, you know, the one with the sharp wall edge. It was the steepest I could suggest because, again even that far into the idea, I still didn't expect it to work. My crew had a hell of a laugh watching me trying to get him to the top with board and boots double riding my stock yfz450. They didn't think I could get him to the top, I will admit it took skill not to tip backwards and keep the momentum going by zig zagging the quad, full lean forward, he was behind me riding me like a damn horse! It was a hoot and everyone was shocked that after a 5min ascend, we made it to the very top! It was the funniest double ride I've ever done. 🤣

Oh, and yes he slid all the way to the bottom. Shocked all of us! It was the slowest slide but a slide none the less. Not sure it was the speed he anticipated but it had every effect of water or snow, just slow motion lol

Can someone break this down for me?
I tried looking it up and what I read was, the dude that stopped the "stabber" was an immigrant that delivers, I think food on a motorcycle type. He smashed the dude cold over the head with his helmet.
Now my question is, what caused the outbreak of violence? Was the stabbings a terrorist attack of a certain type etc?

Speaking of shut down roads, anyone notice the 15 get shut down today? Between mountain pass and state line. Supposedly due to a dust storm with zero visibility. My sister drove to Barstow from Vegas and then tried to head back. Turned a 2hr drive back into 6hrs. 8hr round trip to Barstow. Eek.

Anyone else watching this disaster unfold? It's been nothing but comical at this point. I've been super excited about it since it was announced over a year ago! I have family in Vegas and said, I will be there. Well, forgot all about it.
My sister is there and she's been sending me pics and all the shenanigans there in person, along with all the social media and mishaps during qualifying like a sewer valve cover (yes, those solid steel caps on road) coming up and damaging a Ferrari lol to ice bags on actual wooden pallets (from nearby concessions for drinks) now leaking onto the track. Then the "chase" classic cars for the opening where one overheated and leaking coolant to another one just lost its bloodline! Yes!! Oil now on the track!!
No big deal right?? Wtf!!!
I'm looking forward to seeing Sergio Perez dreamy story from Mexico kid racing for Red Bull to perform. But then somehow he's sabotaged by being told to pit early in Q2 laps? He was in a solid position. Wtf?!!!

Yea! Menzies did his thing now time for Andy McMillin to take over but Alan Ampudia is right there with them. I think Tavo will finish up that stretch from San Felipe and he's got the experience there. It's going to be good!
Also, there is plenty of live feeds as I wanted, so freaking awesome to see. I couldn't last 20min in that truck let alone a dirtbike. Sheeeeesh!!!

Definitely! But the drivers are only half the battle. Truck has to hold! Can't wait to see. They are absolute monsters out there though. Drivers and machines become one! Most intense race and all happens right here. Love it!

Anyone else watching this race? I don't know much about Baja 1000s other than I wish I could go see a finish line event and it seems like this one would've been a good one since it ends in Ensenada, which I think is a first in Baja history but I can't make it, ah well.
The team I'm looking at is the trio of Bryce Menzies, Andy McMillin and Tavo Vildosola in Trophy Truck class but mostly because my friend is pit crew for the Vildosola team and my Facebook gets all the spam. It's definitely eye candy when it comes to the machines they are now running. When 2wd was thought the most efficient and effective, they bring the 4wd to play now and they dominate!
The other thing is the terrain, I've seen some of the stuff posted by FishGistics and certain ruts in like the Laredo area, those are deeeeep! Quite challenging I'm sure.
With technology today, isn't it possible to watch the run live? I know they are running starlink systems, isn't that as good as high speed internet to transmit signal at 4k lol 😆 I'm asking a lot, I know hahaa. Anyone know where to watch? I usually just watch Fish do his updates live on FB, but I want to see more action in real time.
How many Speed UTVs in there? Haven't heard anything about that. Not being douchy, just curious.

My buddy has one and has had a share of issues with it. I'm pretty sure it's a 14'. Some turbo components that lost all boost on the road, and some coolant leak at the turbo? Something like that. I thought it was a hell of a truck but I'm Cheby guy 😆 so don't know much. He still owns it after all the issues so it can't be too bad. As long as you don't think that it's going to do F-250 type work, like most people that own them do, you should be fine. I cringe when I see one pulling some serious loads. Eek! Not for me. Good luck!
