Any of my new hires, I drill into them that they need to show up. Being here is half the job. All but 1 or get it. One, I can't do anything about as he's locked in.
My wife manages a small place up here and every weekend is a crapshoot to see who shows up.

That sounds awful, my dude!

My daughters are Sophomore and Junior in High School. After covid, things seem to have become more and more pointless in school. That combined with a long commute to-and-from, we have discussed online options.
Has anyone had their kids, or known some, that take online schooling to finish up High School? Pro's or Con's? Just started looking into it and I'm not even sure where to start.

Tomorrow I'll need to get in the STKR TRLR and start preparing for the last trip of the season. DANG I wish I was 3 hrs from Mother G! Peace
When you heading out?
Might do a big breakfast on the Blackstone once the girls wake up. No other plans. Gotta pick a Glamis weekend in the coming few weeks.

I learned there's a sweet little compound of homes/guest houses in between Julian and Descanso on 500 acres for 2.5 mil. Seems really cheap.
Checked out with department heads yesterday to possibly purchase.

Never heard of it. Until the street are littered with dead bodies, I'm not believing anything these a-holes say.

Hilarious that thousands of us MUST and are forced by armed law enforcement to pay and display camping fees and obey vague closures of open desert while the streets of California are congested with illegal camping and the entire border is flooded with millions of illegal crossings onto federal land, private property and sensitive habitat.

Still haven't had snow in Julian yet. We usually at least have had a dusting by now.

Picked up this 2013 Grand Cherokee to replace my daughters Equinox that got totalled.
It's got some cosmetic issues we'd like to cure.
Water spots. Must have been parked next to some sprinklers for a while. Best way to remove? Most the rear and passenger side have it. Whole car wash additive or application to make disappear?
Paint on the roof has a couple bad spots where clear coat is gone. Can this get made better without a full paint of the roof?

That's gotta be a big load off your shoulders.
Time to shop!

We go plink at a secret spot out east. Usually mix with partying.
A buddy has private property access in east county he does trainings at, but I procrastinate and don't go as often as I should. It has a couple steel targets out to 500m but we mostly do CQ drill stuff and pistol.

We usually do MLK weekend because of a buddies kids birthday. I need dunes to reset hard before another trip. Much less dealing with another holiday crowd.
I fill my backpack every ride with other peoples trash, please pay foward my free tacos. Nice idea though!

God damn igniter went out on my Pit Boss this morning! Guess I'm trying the snake method on my Weber for this pork butt.
Got a 2013 Grand Cherokee to replace my daughters Equinox that got totalled. Going to do brakes and an oil change on it today.

It always USED to be, the left side was for coming back down. Trucks and slower vehicles would sometimes take it to get to the top.
Middle was for big lines and racing. Right side for haul ass quads and rails to show what they got.
Very few would park at the top and they made sure not to block the action.
Now. Bubbleheads have flooded the top and the "thing" is to launch your SxS off the top and race down to show off for a social media clip that no once cares about unless you yard sale.

I've stopped telling people about summer being awesome. Each year has a been a few more and more camps. I'm realling looking forward to 100°+.

Other than good weather, that was a rough trip for me. Sand was almost unrideable for a quad. Even the deep washes were trashed. My daughter and I hit some ruts on the way to Vendors that were like trenches.
I've never seen it that busy in my life. Washes were packed to 27. Crowded at least to 30.

Happy Birthday, old man

I made it to 9:45. Hung out with my kids, some margaritas and mead wine. Dead quiet in my neighborhood.
Gotta work today, time and a half!
Happy New Year, kooks!

Just got back from Glamis 45 minutes ago. Was hoping to camp at 13 or 22 to see some old faces but washes were insane crowded on Thursday.
Ended up in 28, had some room to breath. Shitbag group rolled up last night and stereotypes don't disappoint. Woke up around midnight to bumping circus music til about 2am.
Sand was more tore up and rutted than anything I've seen in my 22 years out there.
Youngest daughter lost an old school GD flag so we improvised. Sounds like someone already has a replacement for me me!
My girls still had fun and that was the point if this trip. Try again in early February maybe.

Tire Wear Question
in General Chat
Posted
My brand new 2022 2500 came with those same tires (17" rim). They were almost bald at 16k miles. Even wear but tread was GONE.
