Pick up the motie and head to Walmart for all the stuff you need. Just get the cheap stuff and toss it when you're done

Friend just didn't register or plate his rig. With trailer on rv plate was out of sight. Only got stopped once in 4 years and was a 110.00 fine.

Yup. That's me. Got my insurance and that's it. Cheaper to pay the ticket. Usually they won't even give you one.

I am aware of those. I installed one once for a customer. They're pricey and require dropping the original dipstick adapter into the oil pan permanently. A lot of people don't like that idea. If things don't go your way you also drop the old o-ring into the pan to clog the pickup. Luckily I didn't but I have heard of it happening.

If the original adapter isn't ruined from being overtightened it is possible to just replace the o-ring.

Cutting the bottom of the pan off and welding it back in place is actually a pretty easy job with a good mig.

  4. Anytime I've had to actually remove a 7.3 oil pan I've always opted to just pull the engine because there's no gasket. It's just silicone on the oil pan so I always felt it would be more difficult to get a proper seal because of that so I would just sell a complete reseal (oil pan, oil cooler, front and rear crankshaft seals), oil pump and check and likely replace main and rod bearings and maybe even a complete overhaul. It's quite a bit more money but it pays off in the long run to get another 300k out of the engine

  5. Is it rusted through? I haven't heard of that happening, although, I'm sure it's possible. The dipstick provision in the passenger side of the oil pan is a big problem with those. It has an o-ring on the inside that goes bad. The only solution is to remove the oil pan and that requires the engine to be removed. Lifting it up high enough to get the pan off just isn't possible. The other option that works pretty well but is still a bit of a job and requires some skill is to cut the bottom of the oil pan off to gain access to the inside and then weld it back in place.

So the air inlet to this turbo is 4" Will a small k&n filter flow enough air? Something only 6 in tall would be nice. Meaning the element itself would only be 5 in tall. I assume five or six inches diameter. I think I've seen the tapered ones as well. I think it would look better with a black outerwear on it as well.

I know it's a way bigger filter than you want but the napa 6637 is available everywhere, flows a ton of air and filterwears makes this outerwear for it in a few different colors IMG_20231208_220700.thumb.jpg.26d1bf5712dcaecd6b3525542425fa8e.jpg

  7. If you really want to make it easy on yourself then just go down to your bank and withdraw the $600k, $800k or whatever amount you think you might spend, put it in a paper sack and I'll wait outside the bank for you. You hand me your sack of money, I'll kick you in the nuts and we'll part ways.

okc pd has a huge shortage. my buddy is a recruiter trainer. he said they are so short, desk jobs are becoming off the street hires, no leo needed, so the ones that have stuck it out to move into a desk job to retire are leaving since the jobs are going civilian. its a S show.

i think he said we are like 300 short right now

They should recruit some of those ODOT a holes.

There's plenty of those clowns and they just jerk each other off all day in between Effin over guys bringing goods and commerce into their state.

  9. Bought one of those F40 chineseiums last year for $150. It was a 23 quart and would get down to 15 below in a snap. It quit after about a year. I tried to fix it by adding a port to it and charging it up but it leaks out in about 4 or 5 days. Gotta be the cooling coil leaking cuz I can't find the leak. Even so I bought another one but a 55qt for just over $200 about 2 months ago. It has 2 zones and works awesome. Hopefully it lasts longer than the last one did.

  10. Windshield is glued in.

I would think water intrusion would come in easier from the engine bay than from inside the cab.

They're sealed up pretty good anyway just like the IDM which is right above it also in the engine compartment.

I did have an IDM that got water in it once though. Took out the last bank so was only running on 4 cylinders

  11. If the CPS is working it will run even if there's a code for it. The thing is with those fuel systems is they're kinda stand alone systems and there's a lot of things that can go wrong that won't trigger the engine light.

I had an exhaust back pressure sensor do something similar to what you described on my 97. The sensor was fine but the tube going from the exhaust to the sensor was plugged. I just half ass cleaned it out and it never gave another problem. I did get a code for it though.

have you checked the oil? full?

ipr nut, do you have stock fuel bowl heater? have you checked it for shorting, I'd think it would blow a fuse but those things are finiky

If it's injector o rings it'll be using a lot of engine oil and dropping the oil level to the point that it's starving the hpop and injectors. That's one good thing about huei engines. They use the engine oil to provide hydraulic pressure to power the injectors. If your oil level gets too low the engine shuts down before you have a failure from lack of lubrication
