  1. None of this sounds right to me. I did an upper oil pan gasket for a customer that has a fleet of these 6.7s on a 2017. It was a pretty easy job even without a lift. Pulled the transmission and tcase together and just scooted them back a ways, lifted the engine a little and pan out- pan in. Took a little over half a day. I charged him $800 labor.

It was even under warranty and could have been completely free at Ford but he didn't want the truck tied up for too long so he opted to just pay me to do it.

At the time I had zero experience working on a Ford 6.7 other than having deleted my own and doing oil changes. I thought it was a really easy job as far as pulling the transmission and such.

I did a gas engine replacement for another customer on a 2014 that got sky high quotes from other places talking about cab removal and things like that. It took a little over 2 days with swapping everything over from old engine to new but was still a really easy job. No cab removal. I quoted them 40 hours. It ended up being 19.

  2. I think cab removal for engine repairs ended when Ford got rid of Navistar. Rear main seal does require separating the engine from the transmission but you could have a leaking oil pan that is notorious on the 6.7 which also requires transmission removal. Either way, you'd be smart too do both while the transmission is out regardless of which is leaking.

  4. I just passed what I think was that shell starship electric semi on i40 in New Mexico a few hours ago. He was bobtailing (no trailer) getting on i40 on the onramp. I was moving too fast to get a picture but it had some weird skirts covering the rear tires that got my attention and the front had a long slope. It had a shell emblem on the side.

I didn't think it looked very cool

Rethink your planned time to arrive.  I would suggest leaving the east coast the weekend before Thanksgiving and arriving that Tuesday or Wednesday latest. Stay until the Monday after the holiday and sticking to the I-10 to make the crossing to avoid any potential issues with snow or ice.

In September you will find empty dunes that are empty for a reason and in November you will find the dunes when they are at their best. Full of people who are willing to let you tag along on rides  and who are doing the same thing you are doing. Camping 100% off the grid. We have a handful of pit toilets and that is all. Making it at that time of the year in a enclosed trailer is easy for 4-5 days.

Brawley is 20- 30 minutes away from the sand and like they have said it is a small town,  Yuma is a bigger town but from Glamis is the better part of an hour or more and you get to drive on one of the worst roads you would ever want to drive on ( Olgilby) So staying in a hotel in either city is possible, it just makes your day pretty long and one of the great things about Glamis is the nightlife. Something that should not be missed. Now don't be looking for bars or clubs but there are locations where people go to watch the sunset and hang out and watch the craziness go off.

Let me just try and explain how dangerous the desert is... Four young marines with desert survival training got a wild hair up their butts one day and left the coast( Camp Pendleton) on a average day figuring how bad could it be they were in Iraq after all and were well trained. To ride dirt bikes for a few hours.

A thrown chain and a fouled plug later and three of the four were dead from exposure.  The last one was found pushing his bike. Why he was pushing it was not clear that bike was fine.

Survival for some can be difficult if there's no one there to tell them what to do.

    Just sayin

  6. My first several trips to glamis were in my enclosed trailer with some cots to sleep on. We'd take a large piece of carpet and roll it out after we unloaded the toys and made up our sleeping area. Also, had a shower tent that we bought at sportsman's warehouse that came with about a 2 gallon black waterbag that you put out in the sun to warm up the water. Also bought some extra water bags for it. That shower tent was a lifesaver. We also used a bucket toilet in there too for some privacy. It was 4'x4' and we used some construction nail stakes to really secure it cuz the wind can get pretty bad

  7. From the pics I would say that rust looks light and a non-issue but recently I have looked at a few vehicles in the Phoenix area and the dealers I encountered were all crooks. Effin criminals. On 2 different occasions I have taken my business to the Dallas/Ft Worth area and was treated a lot better and definitely got a lot more vehicle for my money. I'm in New Mexico and there ain't chit here so Phoenix is one way and Dallas is the other.

  8. I've got a DeWalt self propelled that runs on two 20v batteries. I like it so far and also like that the batteries fit my cordless tools. I needed a new mower and went this route this time because I couldn't make a gas mower last more than a couple years. Gas, oil, air filters, carburetors and pulling a rope a hundred times on a POS that didn't want to start just got old.

If we can take a picture from a satellite and can read the license plate on a car, why would you need to spy with a balloon that can and will be spotted ?  What are they gaining by a "low" level semi guided pass of the Arctic circle down into Montana that they couldn't get from a satellite? Sure seems pretty risky way to spy these day's One you will get caught, two your spy gear is going to be captured and lastly everyone now will think your doing this more than you are already are.

This was just a test and Sleepy Joe failed to understand the assignment

It's hard to get 3D data from a satellite. I'm guessing that is what they're doing. They probably have all the data they would ever need from satellite and are now getting a closer look. Because they can

I got out of KA and moved to NV.  The garbage nazi's are here too. I accidentally put trash in the recycling can (well, they are BOTH green cans so wtf?).  They sent a warning letter with a PHOTO of my trash. One more warning, then I get a fine and after that, they suspend my service for a year.   Thank you, Mr. Soprano.....

That doesn't sound too bad. Eff up one more time and we take our ball and go home for a year and you don't pay for trash pick up for a year and have to burn it in a barrel in the back yard at night. What's a year's trash pick up cost?

I appreciate the offer but I will have to pass. One of the main reasons I haven’t had another dog in years is because of the two that passed away at an early age. I hope you the best and by no means am I saying your dogs won’t live a full and happy life. The Parvo deal just spooks me.

Antibiotics and Pedialyte can save a pup if they get parvo. I've done it about 2 dozen times and only lost 1 but she drowned because she didn't have the strength to lift her head out of her water dish otherwise I think she would have made it too

    Brittney is my Hero! Peace

She is clearly the most valuable person on the planet having a higher value than protecting the world from the most dangerous man on earth. She is a hero to all of us and we should all try to be more like her.

Those nice fellers in GTMO have it pretty damned good.  Beachfront Carribbean island accommodations, basketball hoops and other recreation outside, view of the best cove on base to snorkel/dive (and sadly closed to base personnel for this purpose), 3 square meals.

I wonder if the Russian Gulags are this nice...? :sarcasm:

I was speaking to how dangerous they are when allowed to roam free but ya in this country we treat our prisoners better than we treat our citizens

  14. The two things I am taking away from this is

1 The irony of this anti American bitch getting stuck in a Russian prison is kind of hilarious

2 Griner coming home doesn't stand out to me near as much as releasing the most wanted man on the planet 2nd only to bin laden who we're told is now dead

Had we captured instead of killing bin laden would we release him to appease the leftist agenda? What about hussein? Are there guys in gitmo that we'd just let go for something like this?

  15. I've got one of these Milwaukee 1" cordless guns in the semi. It was $1200 and it's already paid for itself with a couple roadside flats. I can't believe what a bad mother effer it is. It'll do all 10 tires on the truck with one 12.0ah battery and it came with 2. It's every bit as good as a pneumatic gun but without the need for air. Screenshot_20221125-113735__01.thumb.jpg.bd61f73369b90e16f7b1ddbf143294e2.jpg

  16. Trump's kinda between a rock and a hard place. Running for POTUS derails the the dems supposed criminal investigations against him. But not running might get them to stop pursuing him.
