  1. Always nice to have my decision to leave California reaffirmed periodically…On another note, San Diego just passed a Project Labor Agreement requiring that all workers on taxpayer funded projects pay union dues and contribute to union benefit plans. Due to vesting many will forfeit their hourly contributions, in some cases $20 an hour without receiving a benefit.

  2. You mentioned a $50k cut to “start out at the bottom,” what’s the difference in pay for the job position you think you’ll get after a period of time?

What’s the turnover rate / historic stats on moving up the ladder, do you have to wait for someone to die to move up?

I retired at 50, my peers told me it was a stupid decision. I looked everything over and decided I had enough to live comfortably. I wouldn’t trade the last 10 years for any amount of compensation.

There is no right or wrong answer to your question but one thing is for sure, you’ll never be as old / young as you are today again.

I’ve never shot a gun in my life but I have a friend that has a private range stocked with children’s toys he gets from garage sales and second hand stores. He loves a head shot on a Barbie at 100 yards.

I, err, he uses everything from .22 handguns to AKs to take out action figures in fortified positions.

He gave up hunting roughly three years ago.

Interesting.  I would have thought that there would be more folks.

man i'd love to do snow removal. I bought a snow plow set up years ago and for like 3 years we got no snow so i sold it lol. that damn things heavy having to move it all the time with a come along to the rafter of my storage and a trailer!

It’s a great side gig, I have a truck with a V Plow and a tractor with a snow blower.  This is my neighbor using my rig to clean up his place, we were figuring out how to use the blower at this point.

  6. I do snow removal as a side gig (turned into a seasonal full time gig), one of my accounts is an old dude that pays me in coins. I have various silver and gold coins he’s paid me with, one is a Trump silver dollar I use as a mark for golfing.

Not at all at the top of the hill? Or are some places, which aren’t in a well traveled line, ok?

It’s subjective, personally I wouldn’t attend an NHRA drag racing event and set up my lawn chairs at the end of the drag strip. You can be 100% right in where you choose to kick back and still be involved in an “accident.”

In my street bike days I rode assuming every vehicle I encountered was on a mission to take me out, I assume the same when pulling up to watch the show at the drags, swing set, Olds, China Wall…
