Postal available again. Driving over on the 8th more than likely. Empty truck bed going to OC, but will be loaded up coming back. Let me know if I can help with anything.

Howdy GD.com land - its been a little bit! You guys always seem to pull through on stuff like this and I hope this is no different! I recently put a camper shell on my truck thats a little taller than most. Its not an RV style camper, just a littler taller than the cab. My old one was great but I wanted a little more room and came across this one at a good price. Anyways....
Used to be able to run through just about any car wash I wanted with the old one but this new one sits about 7'-8" off the ground and Im finding that most car washes are about 6" shorter than that. Anyone in AZ (Scottsdale, Phoenix, Tempe area) know of a place with a bit more clearance. I am talking about the kind you drive through with vacuums at the end. Cobble Stone is a popular one - just not tall enough. Thanks all!

Heading over in a couple of weeks, leaving on the 1st or second for the weekend. Going over empty but will have a car loaded up on the way back, if this deal works out.... Picking it up in Anaheim, staying at the In Laws in Lakewood, but we are always all over the Orange County area. Still not 100% everything will align, but if it does, I will have an empty 20' flatbed that I could move something with if needed. Ill check back in from time to time but DM me if you need anything.

Best part of the city in my opinion is north of Thomas, east of the 51, and west of the 101. Go as far north as you can. There are a few pockets in there that arent great but over all thats the place to be. I live in the middle of the desert now though, which trumps everything

I haven't seen dry ice in decades. Wouldn't a tight sealing cooler create a bomb?
Also curious about this. Have always thought about leaving the drain plug cracked open (or drilling a hole through a "dry ice use only" spare) and trying it out. Seems sketch.

We love our Canyons. Have the 22, 35, and 75 and they all serve their purpose well. The little one is just for the drive. Keep some snacks and a couple of drinks in there - I used it during the week as a lunch box, too. The 35 is great for drinks. I know its going to get opened a lot - count on having to refill with ice and drinks a couple of times depending on where we are and what we are doing. The 75 holds our food. We get in it maybe 5 times a day, but we know what we are looking for and dont mess around. Its not the end of the world if ice melts, they still keep stuff really Fn cold for a long time. For us, we like local, like the look, and try to stick to the same thing. Also, we got our 35 used for a smoking deal. Might be worth watching that, too. People sell their stuff all the time....

Best of luck. We couldn't even get young peeps coming out of "welding school" to apply. In 3 months we had 2 people show up for a interview/welding test. EVIT/RSI/AAI/UTI were given our help wanted listing..
Oh thats good to hear.... I would have killed for something like this when I was 16 years old. Maybe thats why Im doing it now, but its crazy how things have changed just in the last 15 years. Ayeeeee

Title says it all
I am looking for someone to help out around the shop here and there, anywhere from 4 to 15 hours a week maybe. Could be more, could be less. We are a welding shop, but dont do any of the big structural stuff or pretty tig jobs. We can do those, but its not the norm. Mostly looking for someone who can help with installs, can learn how do to the basics of mig welding with 16ga - 1/4" material (tube, sheets, angle, strap, plate, etc) and of course grinding/sanding. We have a lot of work right now and its just too much for my partner and I to handle alone. Would be great to have an extra set of hands available.
We have workmans comp, run payroll every two weeks, and a fully stocked fridge haha. Located in the PHX area

John Crist is pretty good. Hard to figure out, but I like him. Actually going to see him at the tail end of this year - looking forward to our first comedy show!

Oh the cactus is great! Trying to get a 3 or 4 rider team together - do you do it solo?

I ride / race MTB, Gravel and road. Did a 12hr out your way (McDowell) a while ago with a friend, he belonged to a club (ride libre) and they seemed to be a pretty cool group based out in that area. May be a good place to start.
I can ride to the McDowells from my house, and plan on doing the 12 hour this December! There is a great shop at the top of the hill (Dynamite Bike Lab) but they tend to stock top of the line stuff, which is great, but a lot of it is not what I need right now. My wife was talking about a group that gets together there once a week for evening rides, which sparked the light search. I ought to just show up to one with the old NR and learn some stuff....

Ive been into it for a long time. Got pretty serious in high school and into college. Actually was asked to leave my university because I was riding more than I was going to school and the grades were not there (I did ace western civilization somehow) so thats fun.
Anyways, its been a while, but Im back. Sold my old Enduro SL and got myself a modern 29er and love it. A ton of fun again, and faster than any other non-e-bike Ive ever ridden. We used to be super big into night rides out here in the summer, and I want to start that up again. Two questions....
Anyone in Phoenix/Scottsdale want to go, and what lights are you using for faster than cruising speeds on the trail after dark? I used to run a dual light set up on my bars and then a single light on my helmet - both NiteRiders. The dual lights had a wiring issue a while back and are done. Dont even think they are still around. The single helmet light has been on the Schwinn Twinn for years, cruising the neighborhood, which is great, but the helmet mount is likely gone forever just because it hasn't been used. Looking for another helmet mounted option that isnt super heavy or crazy expensive. Doesn't have to be crazy bright, or have a built in battery, but something below $200 would be awesome. Seems like everything Im seeing just isnt what Im looking for. Anything!? Thanks all

Did our first Havasu trip over Fathers Day. Stayed in town at a friends house, but went to Havasu Springs during the day. It was cool. I like going to the lake to ski, barefoot, wakeboard, and that sort of thing. Had to adjust my expectations and know that this would be a different trip. The little boat did just fine, but there was no opening it up, as the water was trash. Had it out the weekend before and hit a new top speed though! Heres a couple of pics from the weekend, and one for you feet people I guess....

The most fun I have ever had on two wheels in on an E mountain bike. Not everyones cup of tea and not the kind of bike I would look at if I just wanted a cruiser, but man they are so much fun.
That being said - my brother in law has a couple of the Super 73 bikes that are really fun. Fast (31mph) and look cooler than any other ebike in my opinion. Father in law just got a couple of Murf bikes (local SoCal company I think) that are more beach cruiser looking, which I dont love, but they are cool for what they are as well. Each have about 4" tires, which helps smooth things out.
I just bought a Zebra at an auction for $150 for the heck of it. Its super lame, but makes trips to the hardware store from the shop somewhat fun. Dont get one of those haha

Early 2000s SuperDuty head unit
in Pay it Forward!
Posted
Replaced the stock unit in my truck for one with bluetooth. Still works just fine, has a six disk changer, I believe its the same unit that a lot of Fords used around that time. Was in my 2005 truck. Its just sitting in my shed and I have a hard time throwing stuff like this away. Take it before I do the unthinkable and toss it haha
