No I don’t closely watch or measure the salt. I don’t put salt on my food and I don’t use seasoning that have a lot of salt. I check other food to see if they have salt in then already or take a guess that they do and avoid them. My meals are pretty bland, meat, beans, rice.  I have some stress that I can’t control so I watch salt, cholesterol, and alcohol, the things I do have control over.

I’m of the belief that red meat is good and eat it frequently.

Thanks for sharing the details of your heart attack. It is a big concern of mine and appreciate the info.

I never salted any food for years either. But when you look at a lot of stuff out there like any condiment, olives, hot sauce, pancakes, any kind of processed food, lunch meats, etc a lot of it is loaded. I was in the 4 to 5,000 a day range thinking I was eating good. No bueno. Not even close. Sounds like you're at least on the right track. I'm just a freak about it now.

  2. Guess I forgot to add that I am still doing my cardio rehab workout after the heart attack. But I have expanded on it a little bit. 55 minutes total. Exercise bike first. Rowing machine second. Total gym 3rd. And then stretching. Although I will say this winter I have been sick a lot and have not been able to work out as much as normal. For me when I'm working out and running two businesses I sleep well.

I haven't done any research but my cholestrol tested on the higher side twice when testing mid to late winter (inside more). When I re-tested mid summer it was on the very low side, most likely to being more active or getting more sunlight.

Do some reading on T replacement. From what I read your body will stop producing and you will be taking it the rest of your life. Being active, lifting weights, getting rid of an unpleasant woman in my life, and being outside (sunlight possibly) helped increase my T levels naturally.

No pop, salt, or fast food.

and for gods sakes rethink the vegan lifestyle

When you say no salt have you really watched it closely? I had my heart attack 3 1/2 years ago and I now stay at 2,000 max mg every day. It is extremely hard and there is very little that you can eat other than good natural foods. Good luck eating anything out anywhere and staying within the numbers. I thought I was eating decent before that but was not even close. Now I eat tons of veggies. Red meat once a week which I did before. Had 2 oz of ham on Easter which was the first time in 3 1/2 years. Wasn't really missing much. Plenty of beans and fish with some chicken. It can be done but it is one heck of a commitment. My doctor says I'm a unicorn. It is amazing how extremely poor the American diet truly is. Take a look at people on the beach in the 50s and 60s and you did not hardly see anybody overweight. Oh and yes my cholesterol was on the high side before my heart attack. Thought I was going to die on my way to the hospital. In rehab I was determined to take care of myself after that.

  5. We currently have two Renetto canopy chairs. Very nice and higher quality than most. But they have been around a long time and age is taking its toll. I would like to buy two new ones. Lots of cool colors to choose from. Today I was struggling trying to figure how to fit them and the ice chest in this little rack. It is only 53" long and 19" wide. Then tonight it dawned on me. Just recut my uprights a little taller and I will have storage under the rack. These chairs are pretty big and take up some space.. Excited to look at this in the morning.  https://www.renetto.com/

  6. Phase one of operation rear removable storage rack. I love it when you think about something for several days or weeks and then it finally comes to you how to build it. Tomorrow when I dimple die the 8th inch main brackets I will make sure to use a torch. Last time I pressed it cold and it was a lot of pressure in the press.

  7. All my screws from overseas came in. Didn't surprise me they were from china. 210 screws and I will still be short a few. I really wanted the black to pop against the bronze. Also got my gas cap back from powder coat end of week. Had it powder coated all in one piece. Spent over an hour with a razor blade hand scraping the powder coat at all the pivot points so it would close. I like it.

  8. I have two of these on order from summit. Pretty sure this is what Dodge installed into the bucket. Just have to bend the tabs over to install hopefully. And I have that last little bit of metal trim around that exposed tail light bucket to finish. Then I can start looking at throwing some mud on the rear wheel wells and then start prepping to paint a whole bunch of parts.

Fancy ass wheels for something sitting in the dirt.

    @onanysunday, no weekend update??

This weekend I was working on pressure testing the intercooler, cold side tubes, and the fuel tank. I had to weld up and make some custom fixturing to plug everything up and be able to pressure test. We had some pin holes that had to be welded up. So now I can work at getting everything sanded and painted flat black. Today I have a project building some fixturing on a customer engine in a 59 El camino. Need to make a jig to be able to drill some holes in the front side of some cylinder heads. Also on this backup light tail light bucket I want to use the rusty one and think I figured out how to get a newer socket in there.

Not to sure about the wood and frames .  Just thinking if you did a custom formed sheet metal piece with a distressed finish with some bead rolls would be more suited to the look  ?.

Pics don't do justice to how cool the old wood is. I love it and it is what I dreamed in my head. Originally I was going to do some crazy bead rolled panels throughout the bed. But decided I wanted all of the rusty patina inside the bed to show.

  11. Well I got halfway done with the back section of the wood trim and then got bored. Started on the intercooler heat shield. Had a piece of double wall heat shield material left over from one of the ATS exhaust kits. So this dimple die piece Will face the header. And then another 18 gauge piece on the back side with some bead roll. It will all get sandwiched together with nuts and bolts. Wanted to add a little zip to it.

With where i am in life right now...  i would spend the money and go with those canbus gauges.  EASY call for me.  Even if it meant pushing the project back a month for money's sake.

And T-bird over Nash any day.

Ya, Tough decision. Easy peasy or.  But I still like the Hoonigan gauges better. It is what I wanted in the beginning. And I need to wire the truck from scratch anyway. I have time to think about it.
