RIP Don.

Met up with Don in Marysvale UT around 2012. He’d Summer up there.  Went on some fun rides.  His goal was to deposit some of his son’s ashes on the highest peaks we could ride to.  Saw him last in 2020, summering up there.

My un-scientific opinion is that to most mammals/humans, weather is NOT vitally important to day to day life.  Does a cow give a crap if it's hot... cold... snowing... raining... NOPE, they just go chomp their grass and make more yummy hamburgers.

This is why when all knowing Science™  says it's hotter, colder, wetter, dryer than E'VAH.  A lot of folks go, Well "they" are smarter than me so "they" must be right...  And historically "they" have been wrong most of the time.

It’s no joke…in 2020 when BLM showed up in St. George, armed with their skateboards to smash our small towns ONE Main Street business. The Open Carry clubs showed up too.  BLM left in a huff. BLM threatened, but never came back.

Legacy media had a St. George bash fest for a couple years. All proven false.

Being a history buff, I’ve sometimes felt the U.S.A. is heading the way of the Roman Empire.  The movies depict glorious, clean, civil Romans hanging out on long couches eating grapes. Seems actual history wasn’t so kind.  When you ask “the google” what ended the Roman Empire you get this simple answer:

At the moment I don’t think the idea, what happens in California will eventually spread east, is valid anymore. Maybe things like surfing, skateboards, OP shorts, of the past.  
Most people, even in California, reject this crap. We’ve got the 10% that SHOUT how great it is. Leaves the other 90% going, WTF!

The GOOGLE knows all. Especially with the new Analytics v4.  Temu is a big ad buyer on FB and Google Ads.  Even Snopes says it’s pretty nasty.

I’ve got to wonder if this will prompt the splitting of California again… 

So, in 2020 it was just descendants of slaves… then discovered there were “white indentured servants”, can’t have that… A little scrambling and now.

The panel’s first vote approved a detailed account of historical discrimination against Black Californians in areas such as voting, housing, education, disproportionate policing and incarceration and others.

Much more ubiquitous…

Then there’s the “exit tax” they floated in 2020.  A 5 year tax on income if you leave California. Betcha that comes up again because the cost of this will be 3X the current state budget.  My bet is 5 years and California will be bankrupt.
As of April 1, there’s an extra 4-5.5% “tax” on the sale of multimillion dollar properties. A lot of high earners sold before that deadline.

Had some of the guys come up from Cali last weekend. They rented a RZR. We drove ours out of the garage.  Did some (sort of) rock crawling/Dunes. Then did about 40 miles into the pinion forests. They were really concerned about the distance we'd traveled.  "What if something when wrong"... It's 2023, cell service everywhere. Or even GPS if it went really sideways.  Heard gunfire of someone target shooting out in the desert.  I didn't think anything of it.  They were firing into a sand hill. But my buddies wanted to leave quickly... Then they talk about the RV storage in the old neighborhood... RV's get broke into at least once a month.  Homeless move in, make a nasty mess.  They steal parts off the RV's... It gets cleaned up. Then they just HOPE theirs isn't the next one to get broken into. It's become apathy!  Do something to stop the behavior... But, seems it's not going to happen.  And they cant leave to go elsewhere, because, you know, the weather... It's HOT in those other places...  

Once you get out of Cali, the mindset changes.  Hot is no big deal. Gunfire doesn't rattle you (if it's in the right place) The cost of living is going to get MORE staggering in Cali with all the new taxes and giveaways that are on the docket. Seeing articles about the high earners that've already left the California economy.  (cant tax the rich if they don't live there, so...) Saw yesterday California ranks 50th for starting a business...  I cant even imagine what's going to happen when the currently 'open' border, OPENS MORE, and flooded with hundreds of thousands this next few months. GET OUT while you can.

If you've been through North Las Vegas in the last few years... They're on a tear building tilt up warehouses the last couple years.  My guess, to store the goods brought in by "clean" rail to the PORT OF LAS VEGAS.  Then Those dirty old nasty diesel trucks can take it from there to the rest of the country that still lives in the real world.

My sis calls me for advice on asking for a raise at work.  I tell her, DON'T do a "if you pay me more I'll work harder!".  I'd fire an employee if they pull that crap.

So she goes to Chat GPT, asks "IT" to write a letter asking for a raise.  "IT"says... IF YOU PAY ME MORE I'LL WORK HARDER... only in a fancy whole page word salad.  I don't think she even read it. It was obvious when she read it back to me.  I guess she thought since is was ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE, it'd do a better job.  I think the keyword is ARTIFICIAL.  Then seems her boss used a Chat bot to answer NO in a whole page word salad letter back...

It's been at least 8 years of, WE'RE GOING TO INTICT TRUMP, like tomorrow, for all the stuff, you know, those bad things.  We have scads of 'evidence' that we just cant show yet.

My thought after seeing both sides of the issue.  You've to the 'takers' all excited Government is giving them free money that will solve all their issues. Now that Roe v Wade was overturned, the Dems don't have that to hold over the Republican's head.  Heck, in Cali, pretty sure you can abort two weeks+ after birth.  And the state will pay for travel from those evil 'red states' for "abortion tourism".  Fun Fun fun..

Pretty sure I read the 'next hearing' will be in September, for reparations, so about 7 months... Then they'll drag it out further... Then election season comes along and they'll say that those mean old stogy Republicans want to take your free money away (that they will most likely never receive).  I figure they'll drag this out for 5-10-15 years to have a full Democrat/commie hardcore majority in Cali.

I just think of all the fraud, the 50%++ taxable rate, the cost of a 95" flat screen TV... WOWSERS!

Just got back from a cruise to the Panama Canal... very interesting seeing the "new" tech and the "old" tech.  New is fast and dull.  Old locks still use 1950's electric locomotives to hold the ships, much more interesting.  Anyhow...

While on a tour of the locks told that LNG and CNG ships get a priority through the locks on their way OUT of the Americas... Guessing heading for Europe since the russian LNG pipeline is no more.

And our Gas went up a tiny bit last month.  But has also been COLD.

I crackup when I see the "organic food waste" container at the RV park in Yorba Linda.  There's probably 10+ trash dumpsters and a one recycle dumpster for the whole RV park. Then a few of those little rolling trashcans for the food waste.  I looked in and people are just using it for garbage, when the dumpster is full. 

THEN people are bitching because the park HAD to raise the overnight rates at that RV park...

Just came into the LA Basin last night.  As soon as you cross the “new” unmanned California AG checkpoint outside Prim… the roads go to crap.  I’ve been in third works countries with better roads. Now reading Cali is looking at a 25 BILLION DOLLAR deficit for the fiscal year.  
Just need some new taxes, and the STATE will get right to fixing.  California legislators have been doing this since the 1990’s. We just need a little more tax revenue and it’ll be all good… trust us. 
 

Got to wonder what the outbound movers out of Cali will be this year.  

The last couple years, stopped watching/reading, so called main stream news.  Needed some fun. Ran across the Babylon Bee, a parody “news” site.  Then their parody became a forecast of the WOKE BS going on.  They started, Not The Bee, a “news” commentary site.

I felt this commentary was spot on.

If you want Gen Z to stop voting woke, then stop complaining and give them a better hope for the future.

But, just like killing of the desalinization plant in HB (cant have a private Co. producing water), no reservoir built in 50 years. NO WAY a Democrat legislature would approve building of a new NUKE plant.
