Call Burgeson's in Redlands. We've been in business since 1949... We won't be the cheapest, but we'll be here another 75 years.

A couple of things on this and I will say this again, don't go with SunRun, when something breaks, they will take months to help you.........trust me on this, I had a SunRun system, also google Sunrun and look at all the lawsuits and reviews.  Virtually every roofer does solar now.

My first system (old house) was a PPA.  I wouldn't do this either, you will not save any money, you are just transferring your electric bill from SCE to Them (they become your power provider for the most part).  But in the end, you will still have an SCE bill due to you having to be connected to the system.  Leases and PPA solar systems also put a handcuff on you when you go to sell the house, many potential buyers don't want to assume these programs (I had many buyers walk and not purchase the house because of the solar).  You will not save any money on a PPA system, trust me.

You are better off in every way on trying to figure out how to purchase the system, you will have it paid off in a few years versus paying for something for 20 years and you don't own.

Thanks. Yes want to buy and not lease or use PPA.

People always say I have this many or that many panels, what you are looking for is KW. Twenty of one size panel will produce the same as fifty of another size or brand.
I’m in San Diego with a two story home, 2 a/c’s and I did 6.7KW and I overproduce enough to break even or be a little ahead of SDGE bill.

New SunRun salesperson wants me to produce 11kw to 12kw and would put me a lil over 190%. I think it’s overkill.

A good company will take the time to build a plan before they show up to your door.  They will look at the roof surrounding area and give you an idea of how much is practical on your roof.  You might be able to get a lot on your roof and even over build the system but if they are only working at a minimum capacity because of home orientation , big trees, chimneys or neighbors it stops being worth just stuffing more up there because you have room.  A good company will do a roof survey, before final design and get what will work. Better to have 10K working at 100% than to pay for 20K and have it only producing 50% of what it can.

Things to think about before you start is how old is your roof and when will it require replacement,  What is the size of your service entrance section and is it sized for solar to be installed, (some older houses will require a new SES) Also where are you going to place the electrical components in the garage? or outside? If outside make sure the HOA will allow, they get kind of finicky when you start putting a bunch of stuff the Karens can see.

I have a new roof put on 07/22 and new service panel put on 07/22.

  5. Had SunRun come out again but this time it was direct and not from Costco. I felt as she was very pushy and went over a lot of info very very quickly. My brother in law is using her so I have some questions for him that hopefully he can answer.

All in all she wants me to use PPA in which they provide me with a free solar panels but now they would be in charge of my electrical bill and would no longer be Edison. She was really pushing this and don’t want me to make monthly payments.

She made me a get a soft credit check as where the other 2 didn’t even ask. They just told me I could lease or buy. If I buy I can pay it all at once or make payments and no pre payment penalty.

I was really shocked as to how pushy she was since my brother in law made it seem as she was easy to talk to and would take what I wanted into consideration.

My house is small maybe 1700 square feet no pool. I want to have enough energy for a future EV and spa.

She wants me to go to 190% which I think is way more then what I need.

  6. Thanks everyone!!! So , Mohr Power is is less expensive then SunRun.

Mohr Power is doing 153  percent offset.

Picture attached. If I use my 30% rebate and use it for the solar, solar would be in the $21k range. Which is not bad.

Having another salesperson from SunRun come over tonight. The salesperson for tonight is straight from SunRun and supposedly is cheaper then using one from Costco. We will see.

Picture attached is from Mohr Power.

I would not get it under the HERO program.

A: The HERO Program is a financing mechanism that allows residential and commercial property owners to make energy efficient, water conservation, and renewable energy improvements to homes and businesses and to pay for these investments over time through their property tax bills.

I have some co workers that used Hero and paid too much.

These are great jeeps. I had a 2000 and loved it. Look at iron rock off road’s kits, look into converting driveshafts from cv to u joint.

anything is possible with the right amount of $$$. Lack of frame will make it so its never a trophy truck.  But a good set of shocks (bypass) it will go good in the desert

there was a wj build thread on here, cant remember who it was

Thanks. Figured since I already had it why not. I understand there are limits to everything but didn’t want to throw some money into this and it not be worth it. Will be looking into the stuff you mentioned. Thanks!

  9. So I have a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo that I would like to tow behind my RV and also make it a nice desert car.

I know most want the Square one but this is what I have.

What suspension would you recommend for Ocotillo Wells.  Would be just moderate stuff but would like to hit the whoops at around 40 mph.

is this even possible with this Jeep?

  10. Had a problem with one of my 90’s. It would idle fine and rev up but as soon as you would start riding it and it would bumpy, no go. Took of carb cleaned and still same thing. Long story short it was the spark plug wire.  The part that snaps onto to the spark plug was broken and barely hanging on. So when you start to ride and it would get bumpy it would not make a good connection. Just a thought.

  11. Going to Glamis this weekend and was going to put on my paddles. Realized that paddles are way wider then my dirt tires and can’t move car forward enough to get tongue weight.

Can I still dune with all 4 mud tires on my buggy?

There is construction going on at home so just taking buggy off trailer to remove tires is a B and would have to move all kinds of stuff to get a quad to place in front of trailer for weight.

  12. I have heard and read that an infrared light or black light can be used at night to look for scorpions as the light makes them glow.

Not sure if infrared and black light is the same.

My question is can I use any infrared light to look for scorpions or does it have to be a certain wattage?

     Thanks in advance.
