  1. I seriously am asking for a friend... I do not have a Side by Side so I am not up on all the laws for them.

My friend is wanting to go to the dunes this season with his RZR 1000.

I can not find the information I am looking for so I thought I would ask.

    - Is a helmet required for a 1000 ?

    - Is a Green Sticker needed or is AZ OHV still good ?

    - Can a 4 seat RZR 1000 get around without paddles ?

    - Is Veterans day still a free day ?

    Thanks !

  2. Indiana jones was entertaining and it had a lot of references to the previous ones.

Big surprise for me was "The Covenant" not a Jake Gyllenhaal fan and even though you could guess what was going to happen, it was better than expected.

Worst movie was "The Lone Survivor". True story based on Marcus Latrell a 6'5" Seal. Played by 5 foot Marky mark in the movie ! WTF ?  Book was freaking awesome......movie not so awesome.

American Snipper was great, they did a good job on telling that story.

  3. Pulp Fiction  - what was in the case ?

Saving Private Ryan - Great movie, but one that you can only watch once.

Seven - even though I am not a Brad Pitt fan

    Ford vs Ferrari

Rush has a string of great records from the First one thru Signals at least ( That was when I stopped buying their records) but it's hard to place two back to back

First one was almost like it wasn't Rush really, Yet Fly by Night was great, Then you got Caress of Steel and that was good but really hard record to love. Then they put out 2112 a masterpiece but Farewell to Kings took a little time to get use to as well. If there were two that you could make a case for that would be the two. Then you got Hemisphere's where to me you get the best one sided Rush record of all times, The Tree's, Circumstances and La Villa Strangiato  :mwb:  The second side Book II of Cygnus X-1 materfull performance forgettable songs. Then you get Permanent Waves but besides Spirit of Radio and Freewill there is a lot of more songs you don't really remember. Then comes Moving Pictures :bow1:....... Followed by Signals :dunno:

Sounds like you may have listened to Rush once or twice ?

I left the question mark because you could take you pick of them and they are all great. 2112 and Moving Pictures for sure would be mine.

Not to derail the topic but this kind of goes with the theme. My parents were into Rock when I was growing up. I was more Punk / Alternative at the time.

Anyways, my mom was a big Pink Floyd fan as well as many others such as Dire Straights, Journey, Rush, etc. Well now that my mom has passed, I hear certain songs and they will take me right back to a particular time in my life such as getting a ride to school from her or coming home to her jamming out while cleaning the house. They trigger memories of better times......

  5. Notice how the choices are mostly form the 70's, 80's and 90's. That is back when you could listen to the whole album, tape or CD. Now you are lucky if there are 2 or 3 good songs on a CD.

I agree with all the choices so far...sometimes you forget that a group had so many good songs as the radio only plays the same 2 over and over.

    I will add :

Def Leppard - Hysteria, Pyromania, Def Leppard, High and Dry.

The Cult - Love, Electric, Sonic Temple

Queensryche - Operation Mind Crime, Empire

Billy Idol - Billy Idol, Rebel Yell

INXS - Listen Like Thieves, Kick

    Rush - ?

Yore post made me think of two concerts.

Pearl Jam, Nirvana and RHCP at the Forum. PJ got booed off the stage, N killed it and RHCP had a good show.

Butthole Surfers, fIREHOSE and Stone Temple Pilots at Castaic Lake....That one is HARD to recall details :drink:

    Both were epic shows!

I remember seeing that show (RHCP, Nirvana, Pearl Jam) in the early 90's here in AZ. I remember seeing some dumb ass climbing up the light pole and hanging off them... who would have thought Eddy Vetter would get so popular after that ?

Oingo Boing at the Universal Amphitheater Halloween 1995 was one of my favorites.

I have a Shoe box full of concert and sporting events from 80's, 90's and 2000's. Great times !!

In your mind is there a difference between merging left onto the freeway from an on-Ramp VS merging left into the #3, or #2 of #1 lanes?

It seems in San Diego, they are completely different things.

When merging onto the freeway, you just wait until there is no more on ramp and push in regardless of whether its safe or not.

When merging over one lane left, you have to put on your blinker, speed up or slow down to match the speed of that lane and wait for a safe opening to move over.

This PSA brought to you by the a.ss.ho.le in the old Dodge truck that is stunned by the lack of regards for other folks safety and reasonable actions.

I never understood this one. Typically the on ramp speed is 10 MPH less than the speed of traffic you wish to merge into ? And god forbid if a car lets another car get in front of them !  No offense California peeps, but my experience on your freeways has never been a good one.

  8. I drive by this place at least once a week. I get garage envy every time I see it.

I do question the design of the garage, most people in this area have large steel buildings that are used for shops and or garage space.

  9. I am glad he finished, and not too bad of a spot.
I could never get into watching Nascar. Very similar to flushing skittles down the toilet !

Hailey Deegan continues to have bad luck, always not her fault but can't seem to finish a race. She will be great, giver her time.

  10. I am curious to where the "Drift" community is going to be relocating to as they use the parking lot for their events. Don't want them overflowing to the mall parking lots as they have no where to do their thing  (not that they already don't use the mall parking lots).

I agree with MWB, lots of acreage sitting there only making money periodically. Put in an attraction that draws money 365 days a year sounds like a no brainer.

The older I get the less things from my past seem to be around !

  11. We got quite a bit of rain, lightning and thunder and of course the wind out here in Queen Creek. Lasted about 30 minutes solid then fizzled out. Humid as a steamy pile of crap out this morning ! I am ready for drier weather that is for sure. I don't mind the rain but this humidity is not for desert dwellers !

  12. I got this trike form my dad who had it converted due to health issue. He was able to ride it a few times and ended up parking it as his health got worse. He did not like seeing it sit so he gave it to me. I have ridden it a few times over the past year and it just isn't for me. It is a one off kit done from Southwest trike. I get lots of attention every time I ride it. I currently have a Harley other wise I may consider keeping it. I just hate to have it sit. If it can get someone who is unable to ride a motorcycle back in the wind I am all for letting it go. I have not been able to find another like it to get some comp prices, I know the Cross Country is going for about 12K-15K, not sure what the trike kit adds ? Other than craigslist, offerup, and facebook market place anyone have any suggestions on where to post it to get the right attention ?

Thank You for all of the good ideas!. I'm going to have my son read this topic. He can weld and fabricate. I've been in the union for 35 years and our pension isn't what it used to be, I'm hoping for something better for him.

As many others on here I have a friend who is a welder. He doesn't care for it to much. Says it is a nice hobby but not something you want to do all day.

I work IT and depending on what field you go into you can make a lot of $$. Network engineers seem to make good money and they are always in demand. You can go almost anywhere with that knowledge. Take some Cisco classes and get Cisco certified. I work for a police department and I am "the guy" here. I do it all and enjoy every minute of it. I get to hang with all the officers, ride along when I want, I feel like an officer some days...... except IT doesn't get a gun and a badge !!! but I am working on that.

  14. I often think about this as I too consider myself a car guy. I like all cars and appreciate the work that people put into custom cars even if not my taste in style. However there are many factors that go into this topic. I don't think that people have the same relationship ( give it a name or personality ) with their cars now a days as they did back then. I don't think that many families take road trips in their cars now a days either. I don't think people take care of their stuff like they did back in the day. Today seems to be a throw away society and not a take care and preserve society. Stuff is made to be replaced not repaired now. I wonder if todays modern muscle will be as desirable in 40 years such a 70 GTO, 65 mustang, 69 camaro, etc...

I tried to pass on my love for cars to my kids but to them it is just a "Red car" or a "Blue car" ....... what can you do ?

    What's "cheap"?

Trying to stay around $200 a night, will be there for 3 nights. Once you add up the gas, hotel, food, car show entry fee....... that equals an expensive weekend for a car show.

  16. Thanks for all the suggestions. I am not opposed to driving a bit, I am only trailering the car over from AZ to keep the miles down on it. I have a 2005 with 20K miles. Trying to keep it as low as possible. I have a good friend in Hemet and may just trailer it there and either drive down or trailer it if I can find parking. Thanks again.

  17.  I am looking to trailer over a car for a car show in October. It will be at the Embarcadero Marina Park. I am not familiar with that area at all being from Arizona. Anyone recommend any cities or towns close by to stay in. Plan to drive car from there to show. Looking for cheap hotel in a nice area. Trying to avoid booking cheap hotel only to find out it is in the part of town that is not so great. Appreciate any feedback from people in the area.
