  1. I used to have this same issue every couple of years, it absolutely sucked. Turns out that sleeping on my stomach was the cause of all my issues. Started sleeping on my side (I snore like crazy on my back) and haven't had a problem in over 5 years. Once the swelling in your back goes down, the sciatic issues will subside.

  2. I got this Road King Classic a few years ago. I never took a class or got the proper license but found that just getting out and riding was the best way for me to learn and get comfortable. It didn't take me long to decide that it's not for me out here on the busy streets of San Diego. 2000 Road King Classic with about 20k miles. Anyone have an idea of what it's worth? I want to sell it.

  3. Random question but I know there are a lot of smart dudes here so I'm looking for some opinions. I have a hot tub motor that I've had in my shed for maybe 8 years. My question is, since it hasn't ran in awhile, will it still be good if I was to try to use it at this point? My current motor has a small leak and the bearings are going out so it needs to be replaced. Thanks!

  4. They signed Bogaerts because Manny has an opt out after 2023 season, Tatis is a question mark at this point, and we needed another good bat. Contract includes no opt outs for SD and a no-trade clause so a pretty sketchy contract to give a 30-year-old dude. I would have rather spent that money on a front-line starting pitcher, but we'll see...AJ Preller isn't done yet. No way they spend this kind of money and not shore up the pitching.

I found a Ford F350 King Ranch in Denton, TX. Headed there today to test drive and most likely buy. One dealer said to me.....if you can find a truck, you might want to buy it. Peace

    $90k?

  6. Just my 2 cents...I have had this pool vac for at least 5 years: Zodiac MX8 Suction Side Automatic Pool Cleaner | Leslie's Pool Supplies (lesliespool.com)

It was trouble free for about 2 of those years but now something needs to be replaced on it every year. I just take it down to Leslie's and let them tell me what's wrong with it. The parts are usually $30-$50 and they fix it for free.

Yep, Personal choice by everyone. I have two kids in the health care field and grilled them back when. It was still a hard choice.  Don't ever remember it being you will never get Covid. More like it improves your chances to either not get it or gives you a better immune response if/when you do. I am happy with MY decision to get the shots and booster. If you find it annoying I guess that is your problem. :classic_blink: I do know my daughter just said there are a lot of cases right now.

Just to be clear, it wasn't my intention to criticize your choice to get the shot...to each their own.

  8. Glad you're doing ok. Does anyone else find it a little bit funny when someone says "Got Covid...glad I got the vaccine and the booster or it could be worse!". Nobody ever questions the fact that they got the "vaccine" and the booster shots but still got Covid.

  9. I appreciate all the info and yes, it's a huge blessing. There's another $50k heading her way when my wife's grandfather passes away so that should set up her education fund pretty nice.

While the "hookers and blow" is tempting, I think a CD is the way I'm leaning in order to "preserve the money" as badgas suggested.

  10. My Wife's Grandma recently passed away and had a $50,000 life insurance policy in my 14 yo daughter's name to be used for college. Should I put that in a 529 policy or would it be easier just to put in a savings account? I know there a lot of smart money guys here so I'd appreciate any advice.

I get asked pretty often by people who are interested in welding what to start with. Buy this, it is a fantastic machine to learn on. Being that it's flux it's just pull the trigger and go, no need to try to learn about gas and CFUs and mixtures, etc. You can weld a multitude of steel with it, and yes there's slag, but get a slag hammer and a grinder and go for it. It's dirt cheap and is super portable. I started with this machine, stepped up to a MIG, and now do about 95% TIG. But I still kept this little hobart and from time to time love pulling it out and using it for small project.

This welder looks like a pretty good option. Price is right for sure.

  13. I've been looking a used welders because I'd like to learn how to weld so I can build my own gate for my RV parking. I've been told 2 things so far...I want a MIG welder and I want one that uses the Argon mix gas. What else do I need to know in order to get started?

    Brand is Panorama.

We wanted La Cantina but there are some pros and cons:

    La Cantina:

    Nicer in my opinion.

    Also about twice the cost.

Huge con for us was that it is top hung so no adjustments after install if you have sagging or settling.

Worst part is we have a pool and the way the La Cantina works is there no safety features for exiting the door. Anybody even a small child can open the door with almost no effort. Turn a handle 90* and you can open it up even if its locked. That did not make us happy.

The Panorama is half the price, bottom hung so  you get adjustment and there are multiple ways to child proof the door.

Top hung slides smoother if the door is perfectly installed and you have no sagging or settling over time.

Whats funny, is I got Effed anyway. My 16" paralam sagged (they all do) and my installer put shims between the beam and the top of the door frame. Manufacturer stated they do not want shims for this reason. Installer does it his own way though. So now i have to open up my finished wall and bullnose and remove shims because at the moment I can only open 3 of the 6 panels. Basically I got hosed by the installer.

Manufacturer states you use screws only with no shims, because when you have beam sag, you just drive the screws in a little more and straighten the frame out. Being bottom hung makes this possible.

Same installer installed all new Milgard windows, french and sliding door as well. Those are all perfect which is great.

chit happens, anybody in the custom offroad world knows this well. 🤣

I'm in the window and door business and didn't recognize that door so I had to ask. Remodel is looking good!
