That guy would drive by my house, see my garage open and come drink my beer, since Coors light is an upgrade from his normal Keystone light.  My wife would see him, and say that guy from down the street is drinking our beer again, freakin homeless guy.  My beer cost went way down when he moved to Idaho.  Stay away from Baba.

I forgot about the keystone light, every time I stopped by I now remember bringing my own.  I think the keystone was straight out of the lake

Fireball and BaBa have a good information on it. I came on to the site sometime in the late 90s, when it was the old bulletin board and no pics. Around 2000, I met this character name Slappy Who was on the site arguing with a couple members about who was fast as in the dunes. I believe the conversation was whether or not a 250R was better in the dunes than a banshee. And I think that went on for quite some time. And I think Slappy decided to jump in and ask them to prove it , and that’s how I believe the EPO‘s were created.   Kurt Leptich, original creator, also took a liking to him, and a few other moderators came to be, such as Kenny, the Pastor, and fast high jumper, Fireball.  Slappy‘s neighborhood was created, general chat, and a few other forums.   At the same time this was going on I met a guy named Patrick, FNG, a webmaster, and him and I had discussions with Slappy on purchasing the site, and FNG created magic with the site, and Who could forget that original intro of flirting with disaster.   Slappy took it; as he has said, the golden ripples of Glamis engulfed his soul. Esco came and was an intricate part behind the scene of the bulletin board; so invaluable…Beachhead, Trap as well.  FNG with creating what was in Slaps head, and on it has gone… i’m fuzzy with timelines, and there are so many intricate players that I haven’t mentioned, so I couldn’t give you specific dates on when who what and why, it was all going so fast.  Since then, we’ve had moderators come and go, friendships and families created, taco Tuesdays, gatherings of all kinds, hot wheels nationals, EPO‘s, sand shows, veterans ceremonies, golf tournaments, both sand and grass (Chummin rocking it)..an Internet community like no other.  I can honestly say the first of its kind where everybody knew each other and gathered together to meet and start friendships, all revolving around Glamis.  Slappy took the lead way back to protect the wildlife, educate people on the beauty of Glamis, understand her, protect her, all her inhabitants, and create a Dune etiquette amongst members that we all still share today.  Through riddles, stories, caption contests, prose and poetry, a light shined that we all could get behind to reopen our dunes.

There is so much more that could be filled in throughout the years, I’m sure many members here have plenty of stories. Then once the Internet really took off, people splintered off and created their own sites, created their own groups, but still one community, but Glamisdunes.com was the original.  The door is always open here, and people still come and go.

I still have the old signs that were placed out on Highway 78 in my garage.  i’m sure some more memories will pop into my head, and a few of the OG‘s heads from way back in the day, and can fill in some gaps, add stories, good and bad times. Glamisdunes.com members, I am so proud to be a part of this group, have met some fantastic people, some serious bholes also, can’t leave them out, but all in all, the best people on the planet

Remember when speedfreak showed up and scared everybody with his crazy antics, that guy was one bad dude

I went from a CLK63 Black Series, to a C63 BS to a GT3. The GT3 is just on another level. Not that it fits what the OP is looking for, but not many cars will give you as many smiles per mile!

That’s what I’m talking about right there, I have two projects to deal with first. I need to pay off BMW this summer and wait for contractors to slow so I can can remodel house and add more garage space. It’s been 30 something years since my last 911 time to go down that road again.

Funny, my friend has had every M5 model since 2000.  He just got rid of his F90 Competition for a GT3.  I drove a GT3 at the Porsche Experience a few years back. Best car I've ever driven . . .

P.S  My E39 M5 gets 13 mpg and sounds amazing.

So I’m not alone in my thoughts, that’s scary.

I like hp, a little less hp and lightweight works too

  8. We made it through 2021 without an issue, now it’s hitting us hard. Just trying to stock up the best we can.

most of our products were 30-60 days out previously. Now we are 6-9 months

trucks we are receiving used to be 330 days now at 450 days just for us to do our part

  9. I have varying interests in cars, for my 4 door needs I went with a 21 m5 competition. For a super heavy car this things does everything pretty flawlessly. It doesn’t stand out unless you know what your looking at it. Doesn’t have the sound have the performance v8’s out there, but it will run with most of them. Mileage is not good 16-17 ish, last I checked I didn’t buy it for mileage. Next car I buy will be a Porsche maybe a gt3

  10. Hopefully everyone is better prepared for this one. Prepare yourself and make sure the seatbelts are tight. I survived the last one barely without losing or selling anything. I have been laying the groundwork to survive this one as well and keep all employees on board no matter what happens with the economy. By the end of summer the only debt we will have is utilities and taxes.

  11. I’ve lived on septic tank properties since 1992. Bought current house in 2006, it has a 1250 gallon system, pumped it in 2006. Have not since. Probably should do it pretty soon. Have never added anything to the septic system. Just try to avoid putting too much down the system, scrap food, tampons and so on.

shop has a 1500 gallon system since 2011 and I dump the rv pretty much every trip. No issues.

just take into consideration the chit that’s going down the drain

  12. This crap is crazy, I figured 2020 would be the collapse. I was making good money at that point, I decided to pay off house so I could weather the storm of whatever happened. Not so sure if that was the right thing to do looking back on things. Bought a couple cars to unload some money waiting for this to crumble, should have bought a couple houses instead. Waiting for it to slow down so I can buy some commercial buildings is my new goal in life.
