  1. 68 retired at 65 started riding my bike to get back in shape. I put 4500 miles on my bike in 3 years and lost almost no weight. Definitely good for you but don’t expect to loose weight. Definitely quit drinking, also eliminate all seed oils, margarine, crisco, only use real cold pressed extra virgin olive oil or cold pressed avocado oil and real butter.

The biggest positive difference I have made recently is to fast. Some people have success with 8/16 fasting. Basically two meals a day, but for a geezer like me when I started doing longer fasts like 36 to 48 hours I was shocked at how much better I felt. It was so dramatic I didn’t believe that was why I felt better. So I started eating normally again for a few weeks and then repeated the same fast, you just eat dinner, then you go the entire next day with just water and part of the following day up to dinner. Sort of dinner every other day.

I can’t tell you how much better I felt. I later found out that in 2015 a Japanese scientist won the noble peace prize for medicine. He discovered something he called autophagy (self eating) that back in our hunter days we frequently did not catch anything and our bodies quickly switched from burning calories to burning ketones (our fat stores) Not only that, the body thinks you need help finding food, so it sends it’s little soldiers to the brain to make us sharper, it improves your vision, reduces inflammation, eats cancerous cells, tries to heal old injuries, literally does everything it can do to improve your chances of finding or catching food. I did not know how f’d up my system was until I did my first 36 hrs fast. I told my wife, everything from my stomach and everything downstream was suddenly feeling absolutely great. The improvement is so dramatic that now I feel the absolute need to fast every two weeks or so. I have even lost a few pounds. My vision improved so much I passed my dmv test renewal and removed the glasses restriction on my license.

Don’t listen to the American Heart Association as they clearly want you sick. They just jumped on a study that is not peer reviewed, is based on people’s recollection of what they ate years ago (the worst kind of study scientifically), it was not controlled for smoking, drinking or anything else like exercise and based on the crap data, they concluded that fasting on 8/16 would result in a 91 % higher risk of heart attack. Give me a break, so if I reduce how much eat, I’m going to die, sounds like a study paid for by big pharma to me. Believe what you want, I believe my body. We eat far too much food and we never stop storing excess calories, more importantly we never give our bodies a rest.

  2. 2018 Polaris Ace 150

This is a barely used Polaris single seat kids 150.  We added 4 point harness and doors. Never got used much so time for it to go. Has approximately 4 hours on it. Never wheelied, raced or crashed.

    $4,500.

  3. So my wife said before Biden was elected that if he was elected we would be looking at $10.00 per gallon gas. Pretty amazing prediction right about now.

She also predicted that Glamis crowds will fall in proportion to the increase in price.

I don’t know if this is related to the fuel prices but I have never seen so many Funco’s for sale. Any type Gen 3, Gen4, GTX, you can buy right now. When Funco built mine in 2018 you couldn’t buy a Gen 3, Gen 4 or any type. Just wonder if people are worried about gas prices or is it just the uncertainty of the times? Supply catching up with demand? Maybe lots of toys for sale soon as well?

  4. I was camped at roadrunner back around 2008 and this guy next to me took out a thing called a Paramotor trike.  Basically a parachute with a propeller and motor strapped to your back (or in this case a trike). He flew over the dunes landing several times to take his grandkids on rides. I did some research, and they are a really safe and simple way to fly (as long as you don’t fly over water). You are limited to sunrise and sunset and need to fly in open areas with low wind. I never did it as it seemed pretty sketchy to  put a crappy two stroke motor on your back. Maybe once they go fully electric I will try it. The link below is to an interesting hybrid, a real flying car.

  5. This one time at sand camp……….

Back before premade Chinese lanterns, people would do their own design and my friend and I decided we were going to McGiver our own using a thin plastic bag my tv came in and super thin stainless steel wire. We wadded up a piece of paper towel in the middle and sprayed it with wd40. Lit the thing while holding it over the fire and it took off an went up several hundred feet. We stood there dumbfounded that it worked and then it came straight back down right on top of my other friends rig (still on fire and now the bag is catching fire too). My friend panics and starts running over to the ladder to climb up and put this thing out before it burns this coach up and he gets about 2/3 of the way up and he gets a Charlie horse in his leg and falls off the ladder. We are laughing so hard during this whole thing trying to be serious. I run over and climb the ladder and put the fire out. That’s when the wives came out and camp got real quiet.

  6. Back in the 80’s you could ride to boardmanville by going under wash 10. We were camping in the washes and decided it would be a good idea to go boardmanville for a refreshing adult beverage at 9:00 at night. We came back really late and had been clearly over served and needed to make an emergency pit stop along wash road on our three wheelers. Finished our business and I notice what looks like a bike sitting by the road. These bikes didn’t have batteries so we started one and pointed the light towards where I thought I saw the bike and sure enough not one but two brand new 250R’s sitting there. We look some more and you can see two wet spots and two guys passed out cold in the bushes. Stopped to take a piss and passed out!

  7. Oh man the memories! You might remember an engine Outfront Motorsports showed in its old ad. 15 years ago (purple and green colors - it was also called Outback then). Big hp stroker 4 cylinder Subaru motor. One of the first trips out we stayed in the washes and I was pretty experienced in the dunes but not familiar with finding any kind of wood material being in the dunes but we started into some really fun small bowls and I’m third in line through this bowl and I hear this god awful klunk sound of a tree limb being jammed perfectly between my block and oil pan. This was like a opening a bottle of beer with an opener. In this case not a good sound. I looked down an saw the red idiot lite was glowing and in the same motion I shut the motor off a rolled down the bowl. I got out and everyone was what the hell is your problem we were just starting to have fun. This tree limb was under the sand and even though two cars already went over the same spot this piece of wood somehow popped up and ripped my oil pan clean off. All bolts still sitting there bolted to the block and the oil pan stuck on the branch and surprisingly very little sand in the now open engine, considering we were moving pretty good when this happened. I’ve never seen steel torn like that. We took several towels and stuffed it up in there with copious duct tape and towed it back to camp (in shame). John was able to flush out the sand put a new oil pan on it and it ran like a bat out of hell for several more seasons.  At the time all I could do is laugh, now it’s even funnier! You can’t make stuff up like this!

  8. Christmas is usually pretty quiet. Not sure about this year my friend that manages Boardmanville says people have realized they can live out there and work online so who knows now. Permanent pad 4 coverage all season, that’s not normal.

We go every year and leave before New Years.  New Years is just like every other holiday, crazy.

  9. Warning - Sand Porno Ahead

I know this is beauty of Glamis but not sure where else this would go, these are dunes all over the world and I think I have one or two from Mars.

Back in the day I would collect any and all pictures of dunes I could find. I kept them mostly on a jump drive which I thought was lost forever, until it was recently found. These were copied from many different web sites, hopefully nobody gets their pants in a bunch. Some of these are classics from this site that were lost in the crash. Some directly from National Geographic. I started flipping through some of the pictures and I was blown away so I thought you guys and girls that are Jonesing for some sand will appreciate the good corduroy. I don’t know what it does for me but I love it.  Let me know if you want to see more, I have a bunch.

Please feel free to add your own dune only picts.
