  1. We had a great season, spent a lot of time in the dunes and alternated from Glamis to Ocotillo Wells depending on timing. Season isn't over yet; I think we can squeeze a few more trips in before it's too hot.

Had a lot of seat time on the buggies, and probably even more on the quads riding with the kids.

  2. I have discussed this in depth with customers of mine and professional business coaches.

It's easy to want to chase the dream of doing something you love versus something that makes sense. The younger generations are taking this to the next level and deciding not to work if they don't love it or electing to barely work because they want to love it.

I have come to the realization after being in my business for 20+ years that I do not have to love what I do but I absolutely love what my work allows me to do.

    Thats my two cents!

  3. Is it sound by chance of the larger engine? If the larger displacement or sound is scaring him maybe a quiet stock pipe could be a solution.

  4. We have a little one at the moment with a 12K estimate.

Just had an escrow close on a condo. Wall heater didn't work, so we needed a rush replacement.

One HVAC wanted 500 upfront to even show up before giving pricing.

One company quoted 7K for a wall heater replacement. The poor owner was about to hand over her credit card. Called me and I said absolutely not.

1300 dollars later the new heater was installed.

People have learned that can take advantage of people. A lot of homeowners were improving homes on "easy equity" and didn't mind overpaying.

  5. I've had quite a few trailers built and this one is by far my favorite. Couple specifics that I really like are the following:

    - Cabinets up front and passenger side so I do not hit my head.

    - 12V & 110 lighting.

    - I have entry doors on both sides. Its super convenient for loading and unloading at the house and nice when camping to open it up.

    - Oversized axles with (two) spare tires. We have all had that feeling when you're on your spare and now think about not having another.

    - Couch for hanging out on those windy days but if you're driving over your fenders that may not work out.

    - Tie downs, tie downs, tie downs. Install more than you think.

  6. 1 hour ago, Crusty said:

That sucks to hear they did that to your family. Was there an apology?

No apology, and they were pretty rude indeed. I said a few words under my breath but didn't need to cause a scene. Yearly we buy gloves, shirts, or goggles there but definitely will not be back to their booth in the future.

    Ok rant over haha..

  7. Weddle was there, they had a pretty cool Manx!

Tires seemed very available, Funcos looked great, and the new SCU looked really nice.

Trucks doing the burnouts on the asphalt was fun to watch.

I noticed a lot less "swag" this year but all in all it was a nice show.

    * Minus the "strip search" from Berts Megamall gear and apparel booth. Apparently, my kids, wife, and myself look like we deserved to have our bags gone through upon exiting lol.

That was a first from them, and definitely will avoid that booth in the future.

  8. We had just returned back from Maui and heard the news. Seems most of the places we were hanging around at have burned down. It will take a long time for them to rebuild, and I doubt they will be able to maintain that "old village" feel. I am sure new building codes will change it up a bit too.
