After we bought the house...we had that same thing. Rafters with plywood.

I had this idea of creating a loft type storage area but didn't want the stupid pull down ladder that you can't carry anything up.

So, I drew this up, 8' off the kitchen wall, 6' off the front of the garage and 4' in on either sides...that would be storage.

Use 2x6 for the initial opening then 2x4's to frame out the floor. This gives a drop lip. 3/4" plywood for the floor and tada...a nice open storage area that is easy to get everything. Added lighting underneath had the whole garage texture coated, but still we had those old cabinets from the inital pics on this thread. The idea was to do this new floor and cabinets someday.

The company that did was recommended from our realtor. When they finished, the said...this is a really good idea that we've never done before!

My neighbor 3 doors down liked it so much he ended up doing something very similar.

All done. Now I just need to get a new door, paint the trim and put the workout equipment back on the rug. That rug is getting replaced with a gray one though.  

Both Eli and Jett have something to prove to each other. Looking back at last year, Eli was the man and I am so bummed that he couldn't race the outdoors. I seriously doubt Jett would have had a perfect season.

Eli wants to put that in Jett's head most likely...You won because I wasn't there.

Jett want's to prove that it didn't matter.

I'm just glad Eli has that fight in him...

So, Stupid Peacock...I have every race set in my watchlist. Well it wouldn't come up, so I had to go to the regular showings.

Right there effing spoiler.. Webb and Deegan win.  I hate seeing outcomes before watching.

During the 250 main I forgot that Deegan wins...I was stoked for Forkner he was riding so good...and then I waslike, Nooooooooooooo....oh man that was devastating! One of the most talented up and coming riders that has been around a while, but has had some horrible luck. Poor kid, I feel for him.

So then comes the 450, I was thinking, ok it isn't Jett and I know Webb wins...now if Tomac can get 2nd that would be awesome...then was like, it would be great for a total seasoned podium. The racing did not disappoint.

Tomac was on fire...When he bobbled that triple and was in about 13th..I was pretty bummed...but then he was pouring it on. A second faster than anyone on the track. Even Plessinger was like the #3 blew past me...he was in Beast Mode and I was trying to just hang on!

Jett was riding good but maybe nerves...I don't know!

Next week Daytona.  

That Forkner crash was gnarly and unreal. I feel so bad for him. I was really hoping this would be his year. 

What a night of racing. Do yourself a favor and don't look at any spoilers.  Unreal.

It all depends on what 2 cars you have. 2 Smart Cars..no problem  (If you have 2 of those, I will be personally come down and punch you!   If you pull one to the right real close and back the one in on the left close to those cabinets...that may work!

I don't think I'd like to put 2 camaros in there...the doors are so long but 2 smaller 4 door cars would probably fit.

Nobody on our street even puts their cars in the garage or it is just one and a bunch of boxes and crap around! So I cant say for sure.

If you want, I'll measure side to side from cabinet to cabinet to give you an idea of how much room there is in mine???

You can't tell from the pics, but there is a hint of beige in the flooring, goes great with the butcher block counter tops.

The floor is called Dolphin Gray.

I painted the walls white already where there is not going to be slatwall.

Painting a darker color would make it seem smaller!

Oh, I had them extend the counter on the right side so I can put a vice. I just need a small one and found one that rotates, swivels and is a clamp type...no drilling into the butcher block.

Next week I will get a new door and paint the trim around both doors...and also paint the door to the side yard too.

Ok, so there is a cabinet above the fridge that needs to be remade and a portion of the one below the counter on the left side.

Also, there is more slatwall that goes in on the left side where the 2 blank spots are and at the very top above the garage door track.

Love how it is coming out.

Won't be finished today. One of the cabinets, a panel was built too short or the wrong panel was put in with the order.

Also another cabinet was not put on the truck.  

No biggy...it will be 95% complete.

Maybe later I'll do one shot of the side that is complete....maybe!
