Whoever is hosting had better be careful. I've heard that some of that particular crew will show up for a weekend camping trip in October and then not leave until April. 🤣🤣

    Happy 4th!!

Already told him I'm leaving my RV here till Oct. Then I'll pick it up and move it to Roardrunner.

Man, somewhere I have pics of you doing the motor swap in G.  You're not giving yourself enough credit, it was a full motor, fuel system AND engine management system swap.  Looking forward to seeing this car when it's all done, should be a basically perfect duner.

Don't forget the on-board air system, plumbing and wiring install in Glamis.

  4. John Tuba with Tuba Art Films gets some great pics and videos.  Another example of why BITD is failing and racers are looking for other organizations like Legacy.  That many UTV's crashing in the same spot and not a single BITD race safety official making an effort to slow them down before entering at speed.  Dangerous and shameful.

On a positive note- 2:38 in the video is a board member but I cannot remember his name (his avatar was his buggy parked on the tarmac in front of a B2 Bomber).  He's in the red 4 seat Racer and saved it.  I've been to his house, he's been to mine and I'm drawing a complete blank.  Getting old dammit.

My wife and I saw him at the Ice House do this joke and she starts laughing hysterically and pointing at me. Rogan looks at me and says "Really bro?" I nodded yes and for the first time felt shame for being a reader. The books weren't 'better' just more detailed. He is correct, the show was great cause (@)(@) and swords.

  6. I was taking to my daughter's friends father this evening and he, like myself works at a hospital.  I think he's a doctor, but not sure, only the second time we've talked in person.  He and I seem to be very like-minded, i.e. he voted for Trump, etc.  He was telling me that it's great to have my daughter over because she is 'normal' and he hopes it will influence his daughter.  I asked what he meant and he said my daughter doesn't wear a mask unless the store/restaurant/etc business says it's mandatory, whereas his daughter won't leave the house without one on her face.  I was surprised to hear this and asked my daughter about it.  She said her friend is shy and uses the mask to not have to interact with people out in public.  Yet this same girl is on TikToc, Snapchat, and other social media and is totally comfortable.  Kids are being programmed to not have human interaction.  It's sad and scary.

Also, the hospital I work in sent an email last week saying they knew CA had lifted the mask mandate and CAL-OSHA was going to 'rule' on new mandates as well.  Our CEO was going to wait for the new CDC guidelines before changing our mask policies.  Sooooo, the CDC says you don't need masks anymore and our hospital says yeah, eff that, you guys still need to wear masks while at work.  I guess the staff at this hospital knows better than the CDC.  Or they lost sooooooo much revenue last year due to the lockdowns (we were at 60% capacity for several months, normally at 100%) they are trying to keep the 'fear' of Covid going and wearing masks will perpetuate this.

Yeah, that DLR one was weird. Dave is a dumpster fire.

If you want a solid one, check out the one with Jocko and Tulsi Gabbard.

One thing I can appreciate about DLR is he has been the exact same guy his entire career.  I like hearing his stories of growing up in Pasadena (went to John Muir High School, same as me but 18 years after him) and the backyard parties in our town.  But I couldn't finish the interview on Rogan.

I've seen some clips of Jocko on Rogan's IG, dude is very driven.  Haven't listened to Tulsi but I will.  I really liked Dave Smith the political commentator, which was unexpectedly good.  I had no idea who he was, great interview.  I really liked Mike Baker, ex CIA officer.  Seemed to be very candid about how things work in the world.  Didn't agree with his views on the 2020 election fraud but other than that great interview.  I also like most comics Rogan interviews- Santino, Breuer, Bargatze, Stanhope, etc.

stopped listening/watching when he jumped to spotify, cause spotify sucks.i prefer to watch some podcast since i feel im getting more out of the podcast being able to see their body language and it feels more personal. i also tend to focus more on the conversion vs just listening where my focus is easily distracted by squirrels.

His Spotify podcast is on video. I agree, it is much better to see someone's body language, but I rarely have time for a 3-4 hour video so I mostly just listen.

I've been a Rogan fan for many years, stand-up, UFC and his podcast. When he was banned from the Comedy Store he started doing a lot of shows at the Ice House in Pasadena, about 15 mins from my house. I've seen him there, and a few other clubs, about 20 times over the years. I've talked to him at a few shows and he's a really good dude.

I was surprised when he announced the Spotify deal. It reminded me of the Howard Stern going to SIRIUS, which turned our to be the kiss of death for the Stern show, to me at least.

The first couple of months Rogan was on Spotify he seemed out of sorts and the podcasts were not good. I was bummed and started looking for other podcasts. Lately Rogan seems to have settled in and is more comfortable in Austin and the new studio so the shows are improving and I've been listening more often. Just listened to the interview Scott Eastwood (Clint's son) and it was good. Tried to listen to the David Lee Roth episode but I can't do it. Even Rogan is like Dave, WTF are you talking about?

I really wish Rogan and his team would do more research before spouting off whatever pops up on Google. And I wasn't happy with how much he bought into the Covid crap last year. Glad he has been speaking out lately against healthy people not getting the vaccine.

  9. I'm friends with Ron Pratte's son, not bragging, just stating it so this isn't viewed as opinion, but rather straight from the horses mouth.

Duners Diner could have been open last season but would have been restricted to 25% capacity due to Newsom's ridiculous rules. At 25% capacity the employees, who house themselves temporarily in the area, would not have made enough in tips to cover their rent. So it was decided to not open.

I really hope they are 100% open this coming season.

Left of boom is a good one.

i prefer reading books, but with how Crapty radio is in san diego i’ve downloaded the “libby” app which is an app associated with yore local library and i do alot of audio books

My buddy I used to trade books with switched to books 'on tape' because he's in sales and drives a lot.  I was the same for my transport business but never tried the audio books.  I've had SIRIUS since 2003/04 (not renewing again) so I've always had something to listen to and now I have Spotify and there are so many pod casts to check out.  I used to scroll through IG before going to sleep but when I started reading again I made a point to read before crashing out (damn, I'm getting old AF).

  11. Used to read a couple books a month back in the day and just got too busy and stopped.  I blame Instagram, but it's my fault.  A year ago when my daughter started high school she asked if she could go to Barnes and Noble and buy some books.  I told her to get whatever she wanted.  I used to love browsing B&N just to see what caught my eye.  Usually found some great books.  I used to swap books with a buddy but then the Nook became a thing, then the Nook app on my phone.  You can share a Noon book but it's limited to a couple weeks or some crap.  I miss the feeling of a book in my hand, turning pages, watching the book mark move through and giving me a sense of accomplishment as I read.  Having a book in hand I'd get into some of the best conversations with complete strangers when someone asked "Hey, what are you reading?"  They'd suggest a book, I'd do the same.  No phone numbers exchanged, just social interaction with someone I've never met and would likely never see again.  Great memories.  The past few years I haven't read anything at all.  YouTube, IG, Netflix, etc.  A few months ago I my daughter was telling me about some of the books she had read and it reignited an interest.  I logged into my B&N account to see what I had read and looked for suggestions.  I like true crime, history, and especially books about the story behind the story.

I rarely read fiction, but back when Game of Thrones was a thing I did read the books.  Loved the show but the books were waaaaay different.  I thought I'd be ahead of the show but the 5th book never came out.

Left of Boom- smart kid who had a thing for leaning languages and went to work at the CIA case officer and infiltrated the Taliban and Al-Queda.  Really good insight to how things were in Afghanistan and Iraq.

The Pharmacist of Auschwitz- a Jewish doctor working at the camp under Dr. Mengele doing experiments.

They call me Supermensch- Shep Gordon.  He was Alice Cooper's manager, among many many others, and basically started the celebrity chef rage.

Hella Nation- autobiography of Evan Wright, then turns into a bunch of short stories of his interactions with various interviewees.

Currently reading Smugglers End- true story of Barry Seal the cocaine smuggler Tom Cruise played in American Made.  Written by an FBI agent that worked the case.  As usual the book is very different then the movie.  Spoiler alert- Seal never worked for the CIA and was shot to death by the Escobar cartel for flipping on them.  He was a very good pilot and drug dealer and that's about all the movie kept true.
