Thanks guys, the car will be for a buddy in our group. I’m gonna get it ready and then pass it off to him. That’ll be the 6th alumicraft in our group now haha

What is your budget? I know a guy with a really nice one. I think it is 2005.
The one that’s asking $65k with the Subi and S5?
Looking for something cheapish. Doesn’t matter if it’s rough around the edges. Just looking for the great bones of Alumicraft. But honestly interested in looking at any that are forsale. There may be a buyer in our group for it

Depends on the trip and the riding. Big group with a bunch of kids? Gordons. Off weekend with a few guys going to clock hours in the dunes? Gecko. We used to do the washes for a couple trips a year, but haven't in a couple seasons

Ace's Weekend Summary
- Flip cup champ
- Got to drive the tramp stamp
- Need more crown
- Computer didn't compute
- Discovered all the palapas are gone
- Realized you love the drags
- Group leader might have a screw loose on dunning speed
- Bud lights cause heartburn
That's actually to a tee spot on minus the drags, still dont like that place

Cool drone shots.
Unless you already have the AEM, it's no longer an option. Holley has taken AEM out of the "Advanced Engine Management" game.
Yea, I chatted with Redline for a bit about it. @Reece Pettersen has one in the garage for my motor, so i'll use it to get me through the season and then rewire with holley, or motec (if I feel like making my bank account cry) in the off season

Don't have the time to type out a novel, but here's some photos and a quick recap. Smaller group this trip, but a good one. My car is still having an issue, and i've basically chased it down to a failing MEFI (my 4th one in 2 cars). So i'll be replacing it with an AEM to get me through the season and do a full rewire in the off season. Dunes were beat up, but that just means you have to move faster. Most crowded i've seen the main dunes in Gordon's in years, but once again, absolutely no one in the fun ones in middle of nowhere. Did a couple good chit'n'gits, and a couple fun cruises. New goose neck box trailer now aptly titled "the roach coach" worked well for the 6 days, but needs a few things. Looking forward to working out the bugs on the car and getting back out there soon. Weather was great, Burned some fuel, did some night rides, hit the diner, did some wheelies. Good times.

Does it have a clear secondary VIN stamp or plate other than the dash? If it does not, ONLY CHP will verify and you have to go to your local CHP with an appointment, no exceptions. DMV will not do it, Police will not do it, smog will not do it, and nor will a VIN Verification service. I just went through this whole nightmare with my 7.3 because the damn paint shop removed the door sticker when they painted the truck. It took me 2 and a half months and I tried EVERYTHING.
If it is originally a CA vehicle, and it's a title transfer within state, and it has a door sticker, then just go to DMV. Don't even go inside, just pull into the vehicle verification line and someone will come out and verify it and give you the paperwork.

Looks pretty cool! Sleeper up top and should pull great.
Yep, has plenty of room for a big bed up there, has a small bathroom and cooktop, and will have room for the car after some edits

I assume you need something extra-wide? I have a very low-use 2020 Alcom EZ Hauler all AL 24' box I bought new that I might be selling soon. It's a very nice trailer, but pretty basic (no windows, no built-in cabinets, etc.). Stock it came with 4" drop axles (which I still have too) but I put straight axles in to lift it 4", which helps for driveways behind a coach and/or parking the places I imagine you'd use the thing.

Yep, would need to be an 8 foot wide minimum. Forgot to include that.
Your unit sounds nice, but probably a bit on the higher priced side than what I'm looking for i'd imagine. This trailer will probably just be a gap bridger for this season into next. PM what your timeline and pricing looks like and i'll see if it makes sense. Thanks TJ

I have a 8.5x24' enclosed dual axle made by mighty mover. Located in Salem Utah.
I also have a 7x16 foot enclosed dual axle just used them to move here from California . Can send pics later
Could be interested in the 24', the 16 is too small. Bit of a hike to pick up but shoot me some photos and ill take a look thanks

Putting my feelers out there for an enclosed trailer. Looking for something in the 22ft range. Doesn't need much and doesn't need to be pretty. Definitely not looking for something near new.
A window would be nice, and a bathroom even better as I'd be using this trailer for prerunning and overnight desert trips.
Let me know what you might have, not afraid of a trailer that needs some work.
Willing to trade my flatbed towards the deal with cash on my end as well

Damn, this is exactly what I'd like. Already made a commitment on another 3505, but this is a very clean unit

One thing that a lot of people overlook when it comes to seats is safety. They think if it's comfortable, then it's good. There's a reason why next to no race cars have suspension seats, they can compress your spine. And racers sit in race cars much longer than duners sit in dune cars. When you take a hard hit, you compress into your seat. With a suspension seat, it allows you to go further and further and compress your spine even more. Bucket seats do not allow you to go too deep. Sparco Evos will be the next seats I put in my car this off season.
Harnesses have come along ways in the past few years. The introduction of camlocks in other motorsports shifted a lot of people over but for a few years the off road industry was hesitant to get on board with them, since everyone thought dirt would get into the camlock and prevent it from working. It's been proven with many off road cars that doesn't happen as long as you blow them out and take care of them. I liked the traditional style belt, but will also be switching to impact camlock harnesses in the off season.
Sizing comes into play. 3" width with shoulder pads seems to be what most duners use. I had the PRPs on my last car and they worked okay, but chaffed my neck. Since I will be running a HANS device, 2" without shoulder pads will be my new harness of choice, also what most racers use.
I've said it before and i'll say it again: They aren't meant to be comfortable, they are meant to be SAFE. And you can still get comfortability with safety, but think of safety first.

My pops and I are going to banzai out early Friday morning and ride for the weekend. Who knows where we'll camp, wherever we fit I guess. Maybe we'll try to fit in with someone if they are willing to have us. Going to go find clean dunes and get some seat time in. Maybe we'll go super fast, maybe we'll just sit on top of a tall dune and watch.

Don't quote me, but I believe you can cross at Ogilby road, and take Ted Kipf road all the way up. That way you aren't crossing where they are likely to be hanging out. But it will probably be hard on tires. There may be a softer road along side Ted Kipf. I have some friends who have done it before, but they had dirt tires.

Car came out bad ass. Do either you or Reece know anybody looking for a 2 seater ? The guy I'm buying my car back from has a newer 2 seat AC and he's going to sell it. I believe he wants 135k. I can get more details if you guys know anyone looking.
Send either of us some info, there's always someone interested in an alumicraft at the right price

It’s locked up. Overheated. Yea it’s a J35 with a pretty big turbo. Apparently it had 390 to the tires. Not positive about that, but wouldn’t be surprised
The owner reached out the day after I posted, just took a few days to make it happen
The ratio is pretty wild haha
