  1. I assume you need something extra-wide?  I have a very low-use 2020 Alcom EZ Hauler all AL 24' box I bought new that I might be selling soon.  It's a very nice trailer, but pretty basic (no windows, no built-in cabinets, etc.).  Stock it came with 4" drop axles (which I still have too) but I put straight axles in to lift it 4", which helps for driveways behind a coach and/or parking the places I imagine you'd use the thing.

Word,.. fortunately ABC doesn't need to sell. I'm sure there's a 'floor', but minus that, I can keep it.

As I may have mentioned (in a previous post), I'm going BIG once I sell it. We're talking Class A, stacker and an SCU S4S 415ci+ stroker with whipple .. and my current idea is to have my 2nd sand car be a light nimble 2 seater with a crazy HP/weight ratio.

My old plan was 2 identical SXSs (which I had).. then that got burned up.. literally.. and I realize that we just don't do enought dirt/rocks to make the SXS's worth it. I'm basically a 'sand guy' and want 2 badass sandcars.. We can do Glamis 6 months and venture to the other sand states for 10-14 day trips on the other.

    Thanks Crusty.

    abc

PS. I'll need help when I look for my Class A. I know HP will need to be a factor towing a double loaded stacker.

Happy to help when you start looking for the Class A, I've researched the crap out of 'em.  Also, knowing how you drive I wouldn't want a S4S with a Whippled 415+cui LS...

  3. I have to say, this thread really has me thinking.  I live in Vegas, in theory.  I work in the Ghey Area (Palo Alto), CA and maintain a place here.  The woman I'm seeing lives in LA.  I probably spend 80% of my nights in Palo Alto, and at least 10hrs a week either in an airport, on a plane, or going to/from the airport.  I'm 41, turning 42 in January.  I'm not at a place I can truly, truly retire... but I could probably take a big step back from the hustle, maybe take something in my general field but a more Jr. 100% remote role.  I have Starlink on the RV, and could even get a fully mobile Starlink setup for the Broverland setup.  Spending some *real* time at home and/or working from somewhere like Glamis or Moab for weeks at a time enjoying life while I'm still (relatively) young might be worth more than the $ of another 10-20yrs of pushing hard...

Taking you too seriously? No... I just stopped criticizing people who I don't follow around in life, without knowing details.

If plastic trim abuse is your indicator of a well used rig, I'll stop right here. I've been detailing since the late 80's and have yet to be defeated by scratched plastic.

But, thanks for the pic of your truck... that's 58 steps away from the camera for any detailed pics of damage to YOUR Overland "Rig" plastic or paint. At least you stuck it up here, right?

I'm talking about textured plastic, and I'm talking about Overlanders not wheelers.  I've got $1k if you can hide any signs of scratches/trail use on the plastic trim on my truck (including the mirrors).  I'm not sure what you have such a hard on about.  The pic of my truck wasn't meant to prove my plastic is scratched or my paint is flawed or whatever else, it was meant to show a Brovlerland rig out doing what it's supposed to.  But I get it, you want better pics of my truck... unfortunately most pics I have of it were meant to highlight the surroundings, not the truck itself.  If you want pics of beat chit and more than Broverlanding I'll post my XJ and WJ.  Well, heck, might as well so I can see how much more spun-up you can get...

Thanks, my buddy that owns it loves it, but the wifey wanted to go the RV route so he picked up a diesel Super C, otherwise he'd be keeping it.  I just picked up a new Super C myself or honestly I might have bought it back...

Weird to laugh at something you don't know the full story, to.

I've detailed a "few" Overland rigs that came in with Pin Stripes, left with brand new looking paint. You're not the only OCD person, in this world. Other people pay to have their paint corrected, too. I've also talked to Kevin on "Lifestyle Overland" about doing his 4Runner and Lexus when he's in San Diego. Does he use his rigs in a manner acceptable to you?

Fair, but I think you're taking me a bit too seriously.  If you saw my truck and FWC from a distance, after a good detail you might laugh too because it looks that good/clean.  But if you get close, and know what to look for, you'll see all the evidence of the many, many expeditions.  That is what I see/look for when I see a "mall crawler" with 82 traction boards, 14 (empty) Rotopax, 72 antennas and prefect, flawless black paint.  In fact, on rigs with plastic trim, that's often what I look at vs. the paint itself.  Again, my truck's paint looks damn good all things considered, but the plastic trim on the bumpers and the entire plastic mirror housings tell a different story.

Is it acceptable to you that I don't find acceptable certain things you've accepted to accept, except when there are certain exceptions in place?  You're judging me for judging the mall-verlanders, do you see the irony?

  8. 2006 Weekend Warrior LE3505 +2' For Sale - Billet Edition - Original No Graphics - $28,500obo   $25,500 OBO

    Now $23,500

Posting for a close, he's the 3rd owner of this trailer and I was the 2nd. The original owner was a helicopter mechanic in the military and beyond meticulous. He custom-ordered this unit so it'd have a 14,999 GVWR (and therefore be legal to tow on a CA Class C driver's license with a Restriction 41 endorsement) but still have TONS of space for toys.

Like I said, I owned this trailer previously and absolutely loved it. The trailer had frame-bracing, "outriggers" for the walls, and pin-box bracing done when new so it is extremely solid and has never had wall-sag or other issues. If you know me, you know I upgrade and dial everything in, and the current owner is just as meticulous or more.

    Some specs:
    -2007 Weekend Warrior LE3505 +2'
    -Master bedroom with queen bed
-Livingroom couch folds out to bed
    -Pull down queen in rear
-Sleeps 5-6 COMFORTABLY (plenty of floor space for additional sleeping areas)

-18'-9" to first cabinet... I had to highlight this one. I have had multiple different full-sized sand rails in this car, including my twin turbo LS Extreme Double Throwdown, my big-cube LS SCU Pro Bro, my Buggyworks etc. -AND- a 450 quad at the same time. The current owner loads a Buckshot Bullet 2-seat mid-engine and a 2 seat RZR into this trailer.

    -22'-2"' to refrigerator
    -82" between wheel wells
-Full roll out carpet for cargo area
-Barbecue grill that mounts to side of trailer or can sit on table included
-quick disconnect propane line for grill
-Custom storage slide-out in the "basement"... huge improvement vs. when I owned this trailer, great for all your tools, fluids etc. for the Glamis or the desert!

-2 matching spare wheels/tires under rear of trailer... another one I had to highlight, fully custom mounting (see pics) for 2 complete, matching spares under the trailer. The whole time I owned this trailer I'd load the spare in and out of the trailer under the toys... this is SO much better

-2000 watt inverter to tv plugs
    -4- 6 volt batteries
    -2- 7 gallon propane tanks
-Upgraded landing gear with individual. controls
-Outside stereo with amps and sub (this trailer was always the life of camp)
    -Upgraded 07 front cap
-Large air compressor with big custom tank under trailer and chucks around trailer (I spent a lot on this!)
-Winch under stairs with air chuck (done very cleanly)

-Frame upgrades including wall supports, added crossmembers and pin-box reinforcements for stiffening... again, this trailer is SOLID. I never had any issues with flex even with the big cars in it, and neither has the current owner. This probably the most structurally sound Weekend Warrior you'll find. This is a no-slide unit, which also contributes to how solid it is!

    -Spring over axle
-8 michelin rib tires on custom wheels
    -Dexter ez flex suspension equalizers
-40 gallon toy fuel tank and 20 gallon generator tank. Custom plumbed with valves to be able to pull fuel from the generator tank if wanted
    -5500 generator
-led bulbs in interior light fixtures
-custom storage for sewer hoses underneath where original spare tire mount was.
-32" tv in living area and 24" in bedroom
    -satelite mount on roof
-1 ac unit in living area. Prewired in bedroom

There is so much more great stuff on this trailer, and you won't find a more immaculate interior (all 3 owners of this trailer have been over-the-top-anal, downright OCD level of cleanliness). If I remember correctly the tanks are 120/50/50 fresh/grey/black but I am confirming that now...

Feel free to contact me to get put in touch with the seller.

  9. I know few here go to Pismo, especially anymore, but it's where I grew up going and where I learned to dune (aka where I learned how to break and then subsequently fix/recover things).  This is a long read, but worth it and really paints the picture of the type of Government overreach we've just grown accustomed to in our day to day lives.  If you have the time, give it a go and hopefully share it on all the InstaFaceXToks: https://calcoastnews.com/2023/11/blowing-the-whistle-on-state-parks/?fbclid=IwAR2swRqAAKtiNlkFfpw4jpOW5A7IiSOFs-kIawoROULWbpOhmD9yD5i_HUU

  10. I already posted in the BBQ/Smoking thread, but I thought it made sense to double-tap here with a bit more context than just the goods (food).  This was my first year hosting a big family TDay at my house, so it was special to me.  Last year I wasn't in G, but just did a small TDay with a friend at a restaurant.  The 12+ years before that I had been in G for TDay.  Obviously G is "family" and we always threw down huge spreads... but it's still different than doing it at home.  Being my first time hosting, I put together an overly ambitious menu, and in the end dropped off a few of the sides as time management and reality set in.  In fact, I had intended to do most of the sides Wed, but with a ton of people staying with me (including my Sister, her Husband and their 6mo old) I didn't get any actual sides done Wed, only the brines and seasoning the Prime Rib. What we did end up with:

    • Traditional Turkey in the oven (wet brined, then a herb butter slather outside and various goodies in the cavity)
    • Spatchcocked Turkey on the smoker (dry brined, further seasoned with a dry rub before going on the smoker)
    • Rotisserie Cradled Prime Rib (simple rub a day before, including between the bones and meat and re-tying)
    • 3x Mashed Potatoes (no butter, butter, and a cheese "fondue" mashed potato)
    • Roasted Corn and Jalapeño creamed corn
    • Green Bean Almondine
    • Candied Yams
    • 2 x Salads (traditional Caesar and a chopped salad)
    • 2 x homemade cranberry sauces
    • 2 x stuffing (with/without sausage)
    • Gravy
    • A few different rolls (only 1 was homemade, by a neighbor)
    • 3 Pies and 1 Cheesecake
    • a few appetizers I didn't get pics of

Stuff I ran out of time to do:

    • Creamed Spinach
    • Broccoli Cheddar Casserole
    • Stuffed Mushrooms

All-in-all everything came out awesome.  The prime rib was absolutely amazing (even though I forgot to put out horseradish and/or make a horseradish sauce) and probably got the most praise, but it's not really fair to put turkeys up against prime rib.  Of the turkeys, the "traditional" was generally preferred, but both were amazingly juicy (proper brining, and proper resting time people!).  I think I liked the smoked one a bit more, with the crispier skin (the idea with the dry brine) and heavy smoke on it, but it's not for everyone.  My Sister did the yams and green bean almondine, and both were awesome.  Personally I much preferred the almondine vs. a green bean casserole.  That said, having ran out of time/give-a-effe to do my creamed spinach it did feel like we were lacking that 'sort' of dish.  The creamed corn was exceptional, but I made it a bit too spicy for some of the crowd.  Even thought it felt like I spent 2 days shopping for it and 3 days cleaning up after, this was the best Thanksgiving I've had in a long, long time!!!

    And some pics...

Don is my buddy at Roadrunner. Call or text him, or i can tomorrow. It was parked right in front of me for Vet's when you were there and again for Tday week. I don't know if Don is on here much but he will reply to texts.

I thought it was him/that one.  If you can ask him the weight (and if he needs a 20' and/or 24' box trailer) that'd be awesome.

I hate to admit that I don't like the range in most of the newer high end coaches.  Two electric burners is painful IMO.....

High end stuff are induction, not "old school" electric.  My DS and MA both had induction cooktops, and they're actually really awesome.
