I’m not sure how much my gen 3 weighs but I just had it dyno tuned at outfront. It made 277hp to the tire which John said was 417 hp to the flywheel.

Always blown away at how much power actually hits the ground "after taxes".

Good looking car! You have a few things on yours I have been wanting to do to mine.

  4. As far as the Duning goes, The Backside of Sand Mountain has the best dunes if your looking to do an actual dune run. The dunes north of that are more trails than anything. If your use to glamis, that section would be comparable to the smaller dunes between Olds and the Beach store.

Definitly will be warm but doable. Let me know if you want some people to dune with. We can do a day trip and dune with you guys. I live super close to Little sahara.

  5. 11 years ago Thanksgiving. The group Im with wants to go see the night time sights at Olds. My girlfriend and I were the only Sober ones, and I got called upon to be the DD. Crew cab F-250 packed 6 deep with inebriated fools. Had a great time laughing and making jokes the whole way there. Was having a great time.
It came time to leave, pretty late into the  nigh... err, morning. I was following The owner of the truck, he was on a raptor 700. Gets to the top of the bottle neck hill leaving olds and waits for us. I make a run up it and the truck starts to dig almost at the top. Back down, Run it again, same thing. Sand was MEGA soft from all the trucks that got stuck that night. I got out, walked over to the owner and said ".... good news; I know I can make it. Bad news; Your not going to like how." He laughed and said "well.... I trust you" and walked back to his quad. I backed down twice as far, dropped it to 1st and let her eat! Blazed up the hill and hit the last 3 whoops and became airborn! I realized very quickly that I was the only one with a seatbelt on, as I saw my girlfriends feet next to my head! Every single person was smashed against the ceiling of that truck, and I was laughing before we hit the ground. The only thing funnier than that was the sight of the owners Jaw on the ground. He said the bumper was higher than his head!!! WE FLEW!
Every trip with that group Im reminded of what a great DD I am lol

  6. When I was a teenager I had a dirtbike and would hitch a ride with my Grandpa to Glamis. One thanksgiving, My older brothers decide they want to make the trip, even though they dont have any toys. They both had to sell what they had to afford their "off road daily drivers" (one 90s chevy blazer, you know, the small ones with the v6. and one single cab f-150... both stock with some added KC lights and oversized tires.... and only RWD) Anyways, they get there and have worked up in their heads that if they air down a little, they can make through the dunes. Im not talking down sand highway, Im talking THE dunes... none the less the ones directly out from road runner where its soft and a little tricky in spots.
They left camp right after dinner and a couple hours later they, and their passengers made it back to camp... on foot! We all jumped on/in lighted vehicles to go check out how badly stuck they were. The F-150 didnt even make it up the first real dune! sunk it straight to the frame. The Blazer, who was leading, made it up the first dune, made a turn and got stuck 3/4 up the second dune where he burried PAST the frame and tilted with the front passenger wheel up in the air. Just looking at it, I still dont know how it didnt roll. To teach them a lesson, no one in camp was to help them until the next day. in the morning, a Guy with a Humvee pulled them out, but not after discovering that the KC lights were ripped off the F-150. The blazer was safe given its location and that they slept in the sand right next to it.

  7. The real reason I wanted to make this was to find out the weight of my Sandcar. Gen. 3 Funco with Outfront 2.5 Subi. I know there are a handful of similar set ups out there as well as the knowledge.
But now I am curious how many of you out there know your power and weight of your cars. lets see 'em!
