There is no way around it, Motorhome trips this summer will be fewer. The economy will take a beating for sure. Might be cheaper to stay in hotels on some of these trips now and drive the wifes car.
You would think so.
Hotel prices EVERYWHERE has gone up double or triple from last year. Crazy times.

The local GMC dealer told me they're not accepting orders or employee / friend discounts. Peace
I had that from 4 local Ford dealers.
Finally found one that would work with me so I placed the order.
I don't NEED a new truck, I WANT a new truck.

My buddy has a LS1 that spun a rod bearing.
The block is fine.
Let me know if you want me to ask him if he wants to get rid of it. -
Good luck with the wind!!!!! Hope all goes well.

Anything over 90 and that calls it a season.
Not going to tear car down early this season, has been weird with weather.
I have gone the last weekend in May when a huge front came thru and dropped the temp to high 70s. Was the best trip ever with no one being out there.

I have ordered my last 4 superduty trucks. Just placed an order about 3 weeks ago.
I get X plan through Ford, so no price negotiation, a little below invoice.
I built my truck on Fords site, took that print out to a local dealer, 5 actually until I got 1 that would work with me. LOL
They put the order in, I gave my deposit and that's it for now.
I always get my own financing so once I know I am 30 days out from the truck arriving, I will get that setup.
No Ford dealer has been able to match the terms of my credit union.
I will sell my truck if I am not using it at the time the new one comes in or I will trade it in.
I will not buy a truck off the lot again, I want exactly what I want.

On my older cars, 2005-2008, I do every 3k and use cheapest oil I can find.
Wifes 2015, I do 3750 per the manual.
Daughters new 2022 Kia, manual says 5k based on "severe" duty. I will follow that.

Sand was amazing 12/26 - 12/28. We burned 60 gallons in those 3 days. Did some serious riding.
Wind sure did help, but made it cold.
It wasn't bad Saturday if you went South of RRE.

100% blame is on the sand fleas. The road to Olds was perfect after the wind last week. Then it was horrible in less than 24 hours of constant SXS's going back and forth to the hill. The road is too whoopy for big cars to go fast and cause that crap.
-
Here is my 5 day report.
My 1st Thanksgiving in Glamis. We have always done Gordons/Buttercup.
Wind was INSANE for Wednesday and Thursday. Ranger station on Gecko measured 42mph gusts. I have never seen it that bad out there. I had over 1" of sand in my car after it was over.
Dunes were AMAZING after the wind stopped. At least for a few hours before all the sand fleas got out there and put all the razor chop back.
Hit 100mph (in the dunes) on a couple of runs. Was awesome.
We stayed in the washes, 7, and the washes lived up to the #shitshow like everyone said. LOL. They weren't that bad actually until Friday. Then the mariachi music moved in and the all night parties.
We moved T-day meal to Friday cause of the wind.
Never went to the drags, not worth it.
Hit Olds for a while Friday night, was cool to see.
Buddy stuck his 42' moho and stacker on the way out. 1 hour worth of digging/pulling and he was all good.
Great times around the fire.

Congrats John.
Awesome accomplishment. -
Depends on where and what kind of weekend.
Pads and busy.... take what you can get.
Pads and calm weekend, front facing north.
Roadrunner, take what you can get.
Anywhere else, add to the circle and pull up behind a buddy that is there.

Thanks for the explanation, Lincster.
Knew what delam was but had never heard of wall sag.
All 3 axles?
I'm sure some 2 axle trailers get it, but for sure worse on 3 axles.
-
Got a buddy that will sell his once he has his S4D. LOL. But we know how that is going.

What is "wall sag"?
Different from delamination?
Yes.
People call it wall sag but it is actually the floor starting to bow up.
There should be supports from side to side of the trailer.
Also there should be supports from the frame to the wheel wells.
On triple axle trailers, there is close to 6' with no support.
Delamination normally happens from a water leak and the wood below the surface starts to rot.
Happens alot on front caps and you can tell as it looks "bubbly".

Crazy you are just getting wall sag, our trailers were built on the same batch. I had wall sag 6 years ago and I have a lighter buggy as well. Must be Cali roads🤪
LOL. Totally agree there!!!!! Just going up Ogilby is enough to make any RV fall apart.

Love my 06 Warrior.
Original owner.
Just starting to see some of the "wall sag".
Taking it to a buddy to fix in a couple of weeks.
He has done other trailers.
Other than that, run the genny every month and just keep on using her!!!!
Over 100k miles I have logged with this trailer.
3 trucks ago, but same Warrior. She looks much cleaner/better here. LOL
