I know my lady will be happy with the ride quality. She thinks the 7.3 is like driving a pogo stick and shes not wrong

I guess I should specify that my ride quality is greatly improved over stock by a high quality Fabtech 6” lift and good quality remote reservoir shocks. Not often you can say a lift improved ride quality but this set up did for me. I also have the crew cab long bed so the long wheel base helps too.

  2. I have a 2017 F350 with the 6.7 and the 6 speed. I love the truck and it has been very reliable. But it is not a daily driver and only has 55k on it. I tow a lot with loads varying from light to heavy. I really appreciate the 21k rating for bumper pull. Only issue I’ve had other than maintenance is a small radiator weep (knock wood).  I stuck some Bars stop leak in it about 5k ago and no issue since. I’ll replace the rad when I get some free time.  I went from an 02 withe 7.3 to this 2017. Night and day difference on power, ride quality, creature comforts, etc.

  4. Intech rear door opening width will be 4.5” less than overall width. I got quoted 104” overall with 99.5” opening. Pretty sure they will quote 106” with a 101.5” door opening. I’ll send you my quote and contact tomorrow as they are on my other computer. I know a guy that had an Intech made that was 108”wide

  5. Am I the only one that thinks the tail lights look cheap? On such a nice car couldn’t they have done something better? I know the Cudas went to round tail lights in 74 or so but they had dual round lights I believe. And earlier Cudas had the horizontal lights. Everything else about the car is total bad azz.

@Dockmaster, you should consider this one.

It's awesome but I couldn't come close to fitting in that car. I doubt I could fit one azz cheek in there let alone both of them :classic_laugh:

Besides, I'm a man of my word and I committed to building a new Funco. No turning back on that now.

Give Phil King a shot as well. He is Marjon RV / trailers. I'm not sure if you even looked at Tony's trailer that day but it's one of Phil's. I searched used forever and ended up getting a new one from him.

Thanks. I got some info from Tony on his. I’ll give Phil a call and get info and see what they have to offer.

  8. Looking to buy a late model enclosed trailer in the 24'-26' range. Prefer all alum but will consider others. Minimum rear door opening width of 99" required. Must be fully outfitted with cabinets, tie-downs, lights, etc. Need 24' of clear floor space so if 24' needs to be a V-nose or similar with cabinets in the V to have enough floor space. Extended tongue for Moho. Fuel or water a plus but not mandatory. Will consider stacker trailer of similar dimensions as well. If you have something that might work please send my way. These can be difficult to search for on places lake Marketplace so if you happen across an ad please send to me. I'm located in Oregon but will to travel and/or ship the right trailer at the right price. I have some time so not desperate. I have a 32' all alum enclosed as possible trade. I will be listing the 32' for sale shortly as well.

  9. I bought some trailer cabinets from these guys https://aluminumcabinetco.com.  They do shop cabinets too. I don’t know if their shop cabinets are the same but the one’s I got for my trailer were just OK. They did the job but were built awfully light. And they had sharp edges in places they shouldn’t have. For my shop I did a bunch of the black Husky metal cabinets and they have actually been really good.

  10. All the input provided here, on DM and direct calls has been great and much appreciated. Here’s where I’m at in my process and plans:

Fkying down Tuesday. I’m scheduled to look at two used Funco’s (maybe a third) and a nice mid engine SU. As mentioned in a previous post I’ll meet with Grant and explore a Funco new build and get a demo. I’ll see some friends and look at their Funco’s, SCU’s and other cars along with anything else while I’m at G. I’m hoping to see a late model Alumicraft but not certain yet. I’ll do a second meeting with Alumicraft to discuss a build further. I’m also planning to meet with a third builder on a new build, more on this later depending how it goes. Unfortunately, I have yet to come across a later model AC for sale.

So far this has been a fun process and I’ve already learned a lot. I expect to make a decision by end of next week or soon thereafter.

If anyone has anything else they are considering selling that you think might be a good fit please send info soon.

If you have the $ to get new, do it...Otherwise there will always be something you'll want to change...seats, paint job, lights, etc. You're driving someone else's vision if used.  Buying a new high end sand rail would be an awesome experience, if you have the ability to do it - F it, do it.  But, either option is a good one - no bad decision no matter which way you go :)

I may very well go that route. I typically try not to buy vehicles new given the depreciation but if I can’t find a good fit I’ll go with a new build.

have you priced out a new alumicraft build?

last I checked in with them in late 22 it was about 175K for a 4 seater, minus motor and trans.  Is that still in line?

Yes, I have a quote from Alumicraft. A bit of an increase from what you state but not far off. And I have talked to Redline on engine cost. I haven’t quoted trans yet but those prices are generally available on line.

    What kind of stuff?

    Great question.

I prefer a 2 seater so have to convince myself to go with a 4/5 seater. I need doors cause I’m old and fat. I wouldn’t want a PBS trans. Not because they aren’t a good trans but my understanding is parts are scarce or non-existent. I don’t know if I would fit being 6’5” so might need mods for that. And I don’t know what dash or gauges are there or what ecu. That’s just off the top of my head from the info listed in the ad. So what would I spend on this car after buying it? Maybe $50k or more? An S5D is about $18.5k just for trans. An Albins is $35k. I’m looking at cars that are much later model, have all the stuff I’m interested in with Albins trans and are in the high $100k range so like $180k-$190k. For my situation, I would rather spend an extra $20k-$30k and get a newer car that was built with all the stuff I want. I may very well spend a bunch more and build a new car exactly how I want it. I plan to make a decision in the next few weeks so I posted this thread in case somebody has a car that fits the bill and is thinking about selling or planning to sell at end of season.

2009 alumicraft popped up on str8uptoytrader.  IDK if it meets your specs.

I did see that one. Looks like a nice car but I really prefer a smaller two seater. Plus I would have to add a bunch of stuff that would probably bring the cost pretty close to newer cars that have those features already.
