Glamis CSI Says: Looks like the lead guy lost a front tire at the bottom of the drop , guy's 2 and 3 got it slowed down in time to really do a lot of damage but guy #4 was heading downhill when he locked up the brakes and went over.

In the big scheme of things that isn't a pile up it's a they run fast and close and everybody was on point and got stopped before it got expensive , just one guy had a little to much air under his tires when he got on the binders

Or maybe that SXS in the picture cut them off and caused the entire thing.  LOL!

I think your are correct on how it happen.

Thanks for all the feedback. Truck is a one owner 14 F150 with 140k miles and he claims maintenance has been top priority.
This is the one thing I have read about this motor is oil change every 5k.
It would not tow, just a basic daily for around town.

Turbos would be my concern with 140K miles.

  3. 2014 is a good year for the Ecoboost.   Spark plugs were the main issue at around 75,000 miles.  That year has the 6 speed transmission which was solid.  Fuel mileage is decent when not towing.   I towed my 24' toyhauler with my first two F150s.    Do you know what gearing is in the truck?  What is the mileage?

I have owned 4 different F150s with the Ecoboost motors.  Of all the trucks my first had a spark plug go bad at 75,000 miles and My last one was a 2018 with over 100,000 miles that needed the cam phaser replaced due to a rattle upon start up (known issue).  Ford helped pay for part of the repairs.   Otherwise all of them were just the usual maintenance stuff.

my buddy lawn darted his 3 times end over end, had 14k in damage and state farm stroked him a check for repairs with no issues and said if you have any issues later let us know if something pops up due to the accident. now that wasn't a total loss but sure thought it was going to be lol.

LOL!   The insurance carriers are more willing to pay for frame swaps these days.

I'm 52 and been looking at moving and doing just this, however instead of stopping I'd like to open a hobby shop and rc track complex on my new property. Will keep me busy and give me something to look forward to. RC has been a life long passion so if it works out then :thumb:

RC track and a hobby shop would be fun.   Been living the r/c race life for the last 3 years with my kid and it has been a blast.  Traveling to some of the bigger races is an experience.

Part of me feels I am missing out by no longer going on holiday weekends, but the other half of me is glad I'm nit around the chit show and the f'n idiots that make it dangerous.......

This year it did not seem as busy as past Thanksgivings.   Very few people rolled like they use to Thanksgiving night.   Olds had people out there at night but not a crazy amount of action on the hill itself.     The busiest spot we came to was Swing Set on Friday afternoon.

I would bet Camp RZR weekend had more people.

The wash we were in was not packed where camps were right on top of each other and it was pretty quiet.

Bryce in the physical lead at mile 430.  Going to driver change at 520.  Not sure on corrected time.  My buddy is helping them with the race.  He just texted me.

Nice to have a person there giving updates.  He sent me some pictures today.  About to do a driver change.

If the car holds together they will win.

Definitely! But the drivers are only half the battle. Truck has to hold! Can't wait to see. They are absolute monsters out there though. Drivers and machines become one! Most intense race and all happens right here. Love it!

Hopefully the truck holds up.    They are due for a Baja 1000 win.

Anyone else watching this race? I don't know much about Baja 1000s other than I wish I could go see a finish line event and it seems like this one would've been a good one since it ends in Ensenada, which I think is a first in Baja history but I can't make it, ah well.

The team I'm looking at is the trio of Bryce Menzies, Andy McMillin and Tavo Vildosola in Trophy Truck class but mostly because my friend is pit crew for the Vildosola team and my Facebook gets all the spam. It's definitely eye candy when it comes to the machines they are now running. When 2wd was thought the most efficient and effective, they bring the 4wd to play now and they dominate!

The other thing is the terrain, I've seen some of the stuff posted by FishGistics and certain ruts in like the Laredo area, those are deeeeep! Quite challenging I'm sure.

With technology today, isn't it possible to watch the run live? I know they are running starlink systems, isn't that as good as high speed internet to transmit signal at 4k lol 😆 I'm asking a lot, I know hahaa. Anyone know where to watch? I usually just watch Fish do his updates live on FB, but I want to see more action in real time.

How many Speed UTVs in there? Haven't heard anything about that. Not being douchy, just curious.

Flag drops tomorrow! Can't wait to see some stuff. Good luck to all teams!

They are the team to beat.  If they have no issues they will win the race.  My friend is down there with team.

Going to be a long race.

Fishgistics does hourly update shows.  Best way to get caught up with the action.

Does anyone have this?   Does regular Cigna etc cover this?   Are there GD discounts?

I have it.   Your regular insurance is only going to cover so much of a helicopter ride, if any of it.   With Reach you don't have to worry.

  11. @dbart wins the day with the most accurate map.  The Speed map might have to be taken down.  No negative light on the Speed UTV per the savior. LMAO!!!

To the OP - running the small dunes near the washes is the easiest and always seems to  lead you to Olds at night.  Even if you get a little off path you will eventually see the lighted whip parade.

Yeah but as you know most of us have Cars now lol.  Terrible what happened to Bryan but sounds like you are happy to tow me if need be when I join you guys! Glad my rail weighs like 1300lbs lol

Your rail is light and should be no issue towing.  We always seem to figure a way to get some one out.  I tried to tow Dave's sand truck last season and that was a no go once we got to any slight hill.

Andy will be in his new Maverick R this season.   I think we will only a few rails in camp this season depending on who shows up.
