  2. Pretty typical season, 25 nights in the dunes.  The only Holiday for me that is out of control is Xmas to New Years, people were jackarsses.  Car drove into trailer every trip, so it was a successful season.  Zero trips to Vendors or Sweet Maries all season, another win, one stop at Sunset Hill on a Wednesday night...............winning again :classic_biggrin:

What team is your friend a scout for ?  My friend Darnell Coles is the hitting coach for the Nationals, always fun to talk to him and find out about players.  He was with the Brewers when Ryan Braun got popped for PEDS.  I have personally met Ryan, I hated him until I met him, cool dude.  He has some great stories about Barry Bonds also.

Juan Soto is the Ultimate selfish player!!  Machado has never been a leader of men, He is and will be the reason we never win a ship until he is gone,  Machado fits the Selfish narrative to a T!   I blame Preller for that, He is way over paid also.  Tatis is a fan favorite, he gets the crowd hyped up and appears to love the game, super fun to watch.

    Ohtani is Guilty and Selfish!

He is a full-time scout for the Yankees.

Your opinion of Soto and Machado was the same for me until he told me otherwise.

  4. I was talking to a friend that is a full-time scout in MLB, we were talking about the Padres.  We talked about the players, he said the biggest issue with the Padres is the culture.  Too many players from south of the border (I.e. Tatis) that were raised in Baseball and only think of themselves.  They don't make any effort to be part of a "team".  He also said the Padres aren't the only team with these issues.  I asked if Machado fit this bill, he said NO.  It was very interesting to say the least.

Now every time I see a Tatis Highlight in anyway, it is him celebrating in a very "Me" only way?  Media portrays this big time.

  5. I am 57 years old, dealing with Diabetes, trying to completely understand that.  5 years ago, I was working out 4-5 days a week, getting strong and then I hurt my Achilles tendon.  7 months later, when it no longer hurt and I could stretch it some, I had already lost 45lbs.  Lost tons of muscle but my feet, Achilles, knees felt way better.  I know have zero interest putting all that muscle/weight back on.

My goals now are to be more active every day.  This year I have skied/snowboarded 10 days (1 day last year).  I have been riding the MC at the track once a week (it had been 30 years since I had been on a real track).  Golfing a bit more, walking the dog a couple days of week.................my goals are to mix it up, have fun, and just be active.  Keep moving!

That was quite the line Barcia tried to take.  Maybe look ahead of you before you try it.  Yikes . . .

The problem, I didn't see another person take that line all night.  Barcia certainly needs to be aware what other riders are doing.

  7. Haven't done mine yet, not due until June 30th.  I don't really have too much of an issue with these things, other than it is a waste of time.  But if they are going to throw 6% into my 401k, I think I can deal with this once a year.

To be fair, they gave Cronenworth an error on this play . . .

He should not have gotten an error, it right thru the webbing.  But either way the Dodgers probably shouldn't have gotten a hit either, they have to score it one way or another...............

funny, honestly i couldn't ask for a better group to go with--we all know how the others think, whos the fastest, who takes chances, whos the best at sweep, etc

I dont drink, or swear, and none of us would  do anything that we wouldnt do if our wives "were" there.

all my friends are like minded.  very little swearing and not much drinking either--getting high on life

For obvious reasons the trip is a closed group, no invites as we are ultra prepared and self reliant

we even had axles, sawzall, torches, huge pry bars, lights, cable winch etc.

Love making it a closed group, we are starting to do this more, even for Glamis.  People need to be prepared and self-reliant like the old days.  Who has time to babysit?
