  1. I have been getting involve in Local Politics, let me tell you, most of the people are also slim balls.  All they want is their picture taken and be relevant.  None of them really care about what the people want.  Our system is broken.

I am moving to a third world country and putting my head in the sand (and my toes, haha)

Seems like the youngster has gone down in a lot of races when he wasn’t leading. Patience is a hard thing to learn.

A lot of young riders have issues, Jason Anderson also struggled to keep it on two wheels when we came up from 250's.

I'm sure I"m not the only one...

But I'm having trouble even bothering to vote.  The hopelessness of it is palpable.

I agree, thus the reason I made this post.  Most people feel the same way.

  4. Let's try to not to make this post "I hate California" topic, but the California Primary ballots are out and it is super important to pay attention.  There is a senate seat up for grabs and remember this person will have enough influence to change our lives and desert.  Remember how long Feinstein was in that office, she single handily closed millions of acres of desert.  There are 4 people running for this seat, only two will make the November ballot.  Only 1 republican (Steve Garvey), and three democrats.   Adam Schiff the lead vote getter currently is a slime ball.  If anything, don't vote for this tool, he will bury California even more if he gets elected.

    Vote people!!!!

  5. I have 3 kids, all in their twenties now.  All have graduated from College and now are on their own.  Vacations and Glamis, we always come together.  If my kids didn't like the dunes as much as I do, I am not sure I would still go as much.

I have also created a home environment that they want to come back and hang with us Old Folks.

As for everyday communication, we talk every week, not daily.  I am a firm believer to let them fly and try not to get in their way, they have proven that they are self-sufficient. But they always reach out for advice or ideas, I am still here to nurture in some compacity.

So now both Ducati and Triumph are making MX bikes.  Is there still a marketplace for them?   I don't see as many people riding these days, but maybe I'm just old .  . .

I don't know, but when I look at KTM, Husky, and Beta, they all made their marks in other forms of racing than Motorcross, before venturing into The Track world.

    Noon starting time tomorrow

not sure why it didn't post the reply twice now... current "leadership" is 100% the reason for the misery. THere are 5 of us in key roles that are currently looking and ready to walk, I'm just shy of 30, one is at 27 and the other 3 are all over 20

Leadership is a problem everywhere I see; people are afraid to make decisions so basically there is no leadership in my job anymore.  No direction, nothing............totally sad.

  8. I think a lot of us are around the same age and dealing with these thoughts daily right now.  Things/work/life aren't the same as they were 10 years ago for sure.  I am in the same career for the last 30+ years, do I like my job??  I am 56 years old, work is a grind for me, it used to be a blast...but mostly due to the people and our Management.  Covid has really changed everything at work and I see no end in sight.  I personally will have a hard time walking away from this salary, every recruiter that calls me about jobs wants to pay me 2/3's of what I get paid now.  The 401K matching is hard to walk away for me, I want to pad that retirement big time.

To combat this misery at work, I am now volunteering for things outside of work.  Lots of fundraising in the community, join the HOA board (Crazy I know), and trying to create things outside of work to do that doesn't cost me money.  I am also trying to make every fun trip a day longer, a day of relaxing.

I do feel like I am lucky, we are in our retirement house already, my long-term financial situation is good as well.  Just need to get thru these next 6 years.

  9. My advice is pretty simple:

    - Never tell the renters you are the owner, just a paid property manager.

    - Make paying you easy, every year give them 12 self-addressed envelopes with stamps and have it sent to a PO Box.

    - As for a LLC, I was told not to, due to Tax reasons, no idea though...........

As for having three partners, I personally wouldn't do it, I can't see splitting proceeds/costs three ways profitable in anyway.  I have been partners in a couple of houses, never lasted long enough to be super profitable.
