You ought to see these guys try to use a skil saw or a hammer...

Decades ago when I lived in So Cal we use to go the River south of Blythe often. On HWY 78 south of I-10 there is a little town you drive thru called Ripley. There was a market there called J&J Market run by a local family. OMG they had the best carne asada in the world. I wonder if it is still there? I remember they sold the market to a gal who said she got the recipe with the purchase. Anyone know of it and if they still have that awesome Carne?

Last I heard, it was almost impossible to get there from Gordon's without getting into restricted areas..
@Big_Daddy_Jp will know, he practically lives out there.

Don't polish it or anything, leave it as is..
Cool coin, never seen one. (Or heard of one.).
I remember my grandfather having a $10,000 bill back when I was a kid. If my memory is correct, it was more than one. He liked to show off

I'm in agreeance with you. The skilled drivers and high hp cars used to always stay to the right. The left was for smaller quads, Jeeps, and trucks etc.
Can we talk about parking at the top of the hill? or save that for another topic?

I'm confused. How did he win? Did the game end or something? (Ran out of blocks) I never played it that much.
Good for him!

Scammers are upping their game. They're starting to get real personal. Had one that came into a high school reunion FB group and scammed a bunch of people before they figured it out.

Must be local. I see my GP within a couple days of calling.
Not going to get any better starting the first of the year. Right now our emergency rooms and urgent cares are used as doctor's offices by illegals.

Healthcare chiming in...
Seeing a progressive decrease in insured folks exercising their insurance benefits (i.e. they're not getting preventative care services). The un-insured volume has been steady but they DGAF.
Add me to that list. Our health care system is so broken. Can't get an appointment for 6 weeks. Got to wait more than 3 months for a specialist. Anything other than using a stethoscope takes three visits to get scheduled, and then takes six months to get any kind of procedure done. Every time I go, there's a new doctor. My doctor of 23 years retired in 2020 and I haven't had a decent doctor that gave a chit sense..So impersonal now.. I did have an urgent need which I sought out a cash doctor and boy that sure is a different world.. things happened in days, not months..
And just for the record, we have pretty decent EPO insurance. We get to choose between UCSD Scripps and Sharp..

YIKES!!!!!!!!!!!!! that is kind of scary. actually its a lot of scary............
Well you know what they say about statistics. Some I read are high 20%, some low 40%. But the point is they are grabbing up single family homes. I bet they're frothing at the mouth waiting on some kind of real estate bust so they can swoop in on them like they did before. I don't think we'll ever have a bust like we did before but who knows.

anyone else seeing these investment groups in their industries?
Real estate, but that's been going on for a while. But now investment groups account for something like 40% of the single family home sales.
Pest control is becoming a monopoly. Your choice soon will be one of two giant company's or a small mom and pop, no in between.

It is MUCH safer than what is coming out of the tap now. The more safe, but significantly more expensive option is de-salinization (sp?)
I'm still waiting on the option that makes the most sense and that's to build more reservoirs and stop all this snow run off and rain water from going into the ocean.

We have been drinking wastewater for years, where do people think Las Vegas wastewater flows into, the Colorado river...............
Maybe that's why the Colorado River fish tested positive for antidepressants, heart medications, drugs, etc..
I absolutely do not trust this toilet to tap BS

The good thing about eBay is no matter who you buy it from you got PayPal protection. I had a subie motor show up in bad shape, the seller didn't want to take it back but PayPal refunded me and paid for return shipping

Oh, COME ON!!!! I need you to continue doing what you are doing.
You're going to hate it, just stick to what you have been doing
I may be more valuable to you working for them. If any termite company tries to jack you around, you just need a name drop and it'll strike fear in their hearts.

Just saw Biden on the news saying that it's self evident that Trump was an insurrectionist. That's rich coming from a guy that allows our country to be invaded day in and day out.
Trump needs to be reelected to finish what he started. It will cause the complete and utter meltdown of the left and we need that. I'm willing to bet there will be riots in every major city in the country, and I hope that the Trump administration presses charges against every single one of them.
That's if the election even happens. I seriously have my doubts. (If Trump's on the ticket)

I don't think the election will actually happen at this rate.. I see martial law coming to a town near you..

Yeah I’ll probably sell the biz and move to Utah eventually. Mostly focus on branch 2 stuff nowadays as profit is good and consistent. I’d seriously consider that job if you plan to do it long enough to collect on some pension and benefits after retiring. Tough decision for sure
Yeah, It's not the pay that's bringing me over there 😄.. It's definitely the benefits and atmosphere. Hell, I'm going to have more freedom than running a business. They give you a truck and you work from your home office.
That's why I'm concerned about the calPERS though. Would hate to make the sacrifice and not have the benefits there for me.

Those guys seem to have a good thing going on. They get a lot of days off too. I’m in the industry and considered that job as well. Are you in the termite biz and over it now?
Yeah, I've been in the termite biz for 32 years now I guess. As a general contractor and an operator. The only thing I'm over is trying to find good help. As you know, we're so strictly regulated you can't just stick anybody out in the field. The SPCB will put you out of business real quick. Been really difficult to find good inspectors and wood repair guys. When the real estate industry changed their contracts it really cut out a lot of our business, and then when covid hit and nobody was even getting inspections, it made me rethink everything.
