  1. Spending the week at Sacramento with our family. Our granddaughter is 9 and playing lacrosse so we are excited because this is the first game we get to attend. Our grandsons 7 birthday is today so lots of fun and celebration with him. He requested a chocolate cake which is a nice change from the three carrot cakes I made this month for the other grandkids.

Since we are near the 80 interstate we will head east and see what adventures we can discover this summer.

Preparing ribs for supper and then smores at the firepit.

  2. Last year the wife and I painted our single story stucco house. We sprayed the eve's and rolled the stucco and brushed the trim. We used PPG platinum at $50.00 a gallon and it cost us a little over $600.00. I thought that was alot.

Wow, I can't believe how expensive those quotes are.

Nothing like hearing the boy is getting ready for church and he hollers down that there is no hot water.  Looks like bottom element burned out. Tried to drain it but sediment was in the way.  Damn thing jizzed all-over me.  Off to HD I go.

Sometimes those plastic drain valves on the water heater won't reseal when you turn the water back on. Get garden hose cap at the hardware store while you're there, might save a trip.

Made good progress on the honey do list yesterday.   Got the fluids changed in the buggy (all good there),  and need to swap plugs and wires and I can do CVs.

Went to a kids Easter event at my inlaws church then to a symphony concert with out boys at our local high-school that one of the SDSU bands put on.  Lots of fun.

Hope to at least get the CVs out and soaking today.

I like that you check your fire extinguisher pressure, thats one thing that gets overlooked.

  5. I turned on the air conditioner a couple of days ago when the hot days were cooking us and smelled an unusual smell coming from the vents. Its that smell that something is getting hot, maybe plastic or electrical. I thought I better check things out before it caught on fire. I checked out the wiring in the furnace compartment, nothing seems hot or warm even. Grabbed the blower wheel and it seemed to turn freely and not loose or noisy. Reached up and touched the blower motor and WOW, that thing is hotter than a peanut. Its 25 years old so no complaints other than adding it to the do list.  Finished sealing the ledger stone that we have installed on the front of the house.

Best part is our oldest grandson turned 13 Saturday. He had a soccer game in the morning that was fun to watch. Several school girls showed up to watch the game, they left early and on the way out they all yelled "HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRODY". Grandpa going to tease him with that one for a while. The rest of the day with family and celebration.

    Church and ribs today.

    Thanks @ROBERT L

At the vet with the new pooch. She's got a cancer that needs to be treated with Chemotherapy. First dose happening right now. Doc says 4 treatments should do the trick.

Sorry to hear the new pup is having chemotherapy already. Hope she responds well to  the treatment and gets well soon. The best to you and family G.M.

  7. I went to the arthritis center yesterday and got a cortisone shoot in my right knee and the dr said to take it easy for a day. This morning I tried her out with a 1.75 mile easy walk and she feels pretty good. I hope it last for awhile. This afternoon taking it horizontal in the recliner with a cold beverage. :Beerp:

Yup. I feel like a nuisance “crawling” the speed limit when people are blowing past me.  With all the construction on the 10 east in Beaumont/Banning and the small #4 lane, it puckers my hole as I’m driving up against the k rail.

I’ll have to look in to this and see the peak range on the Ford.

I'm  with you on that East bound stretch 10 freeway by Banning and Cabazon. It has small lanes with trucks fling by with k rail so close on the right side. There is no where to go if someone drifts out of there lane. Sometimes I think our mirrors are going to touch as they fly by. One time I checked the mirrors and saw a semi drifting in and out using his lane and my lane. So I hot footed it and found a break in the k rail for a short distance and then slowed to let him go by. As he went by I looked over and could see he had a pair of drum sticks in his hands as was drumming on the dash and steering with his knees.  :drummer:

What area? My family is in Hastings and cousin has farms in Arapahoe area.

The family farm is near the little town of Ravenna, off highway 2. That is a little north and west of Hastings.

I have some relatives, by way of marriage, that live in Arapahoe. Their name is Jeff and Laurie Otto. I believe they farm and also have a trucking company.

  10. Grandson had a dive meet in Mission Viejo yesterday, thats always fun to be with the family. Unfortunately he D Q because he done the wrong dive. At the end of the tournament  I asked what happened and he said, papa I done the dives that I practiced they called the wrong dive.

I have been hanging some ledger stone on the outside wall of the house. I need to get out there and cover the new stone before the rain starts. I want to let it dry out some before I put on the sealer.

Talked to my sister in Central Nebraska yesterday and she was mad because she paid $3.79 for regular gas to fill her car. I can't wait to get out there this summer to do some farming and living the good life.

The chores, Fresh air, Good bye city life!!

Too bad my wife don't feel the same but she's good about splitting our time with some travel adventures in-between.

  11. I cut the season short only because our grandson has soccer on the weekends now. Otherwise there is no way gas prices would slow or even stop me from going. This is my time to spend with the family, watching them grow up and enjoying the dunes. Not to many trips left in this old man so give me my gas and stay off my lawn! :ex:

  12. I have an 89 that I bought new. The plastics are beginning to crack and are very hard to replace.

The gas tank is showing signs of failing and very expensive if you can find one. The rest of the

mechanical parts are not to bad to find. Still love my old two smoke!
