  1. Claremont has a cool old town style area "packing house" and surrounding area (first street). My daughter lives right next to Pasadena in Arcadia, Santa Anita Racetrack is a fun day, the LA Arboretum is also right there. Lots of good hikes in that area as well.

  2. Damn, some of you guys spend a LOT of time out there, only made 1 trip with one more on the schedule as moving out of Ca took most the weekends. Good thing is I can ride for days out of my garage and the season is just starting here :smilie_flagge13:

  3. I have been anti-facebook since day 1, still don't have a personal account. Considering getting one just for the marketplace. it seems to be the place to go. Haven't been on craigslist for a couple years, offer up and enthusiast sites like GD have been my go to. I like looking at some other sites but they seem to have things listed at an ultra premium$.

They changed the terms that you agreed to and confirmed those changes during your call (would have been better to email for the paper trail), I'd fight that fine.

100%, agreement is void, if they reserve the right to make changes you have that right as well.

I thought I had started a post in this if anyone can find it. Anyways I have a friend with a 2017 Pacifica blow a motor in utah. They told her $12 k to replace. I’m like what?  I then call a place I know of that sells used and new engines. He told me $11,500 installed. I asked he labor rate and he said $200 per hour!  That is crazy. I raised my shop rate to $130 last year and plan to go to $140?on the first but $200 ftom an independent in Utah is stupid

Not sure if applies in your friends case but I had to get a local phone number up here, when I had the Ca area code I was quoted the Ca prices IF they even called back...

The last 3 things you should tap for money in my opinion are any retirement savings, the equity in your home, and credit cards. I'm not saying never, they should be your last option and in that order.

I retired at 58 by following these rules, and I'm not sure if I could have if I didn't.

I would get a loan from a lender with reasonable rates given the current economy. Then when or if rates come down, refinance to the lower rate. I think the days of extremely low interest rates are over, at least for years if ever. I remember when a 4% to 5% mortgage rates were considered low, we got spoiled the last several years.

100%, just retired at 54 and moved out of Ca, definitely could not have if I used retirement funds for purchases and missed an upswing or 2.

  7. Id start with the eyes since you stated there was degradation there and its the easiest thing to correct. Lots of good advice here, I have a friend who just gave up duning for the same reason. He was not as avid a duner as you though. Good Luck!
