Hi everyone. Well I forgot to lock my wing trunk and hit a little kicker near Osbourn and everything flew out. 2 prp bags, multimeter, jumper box, $140 cash, car registration and insurance info and some other random stuff. Hopefully I get lucky and some good people find it. I am in Wash 7.
Thanks

RV Park Manager About Electric Car's
Here is a good one for you electric car people. We had a Tesla pull into the RV park last week and wanted to charge. Normally we don't let them. I felt sorry for them and said yes. They plugged into a 20-amp 120 outlet (that is the charger they had). Now let me backup a little. They were driving from Santa Fe NM to Lubbock Tx. (That is 312 miles.) The woman told me that the Tesla dealer said they can charge at any RV park. The car showed 92 miles till dead battery. Santa Fe is only 212 miles from Clovis. 212 plus 92 equals 304. So, a Tesla does not get 350 to 375 per charge. Now Lubbock is 101.2 miles from the RV park. (You don't need to be a math whiz to follow this!!!!) When they plugged the car into the pedestal The car showed. (Stay with me here.) "For every hour of charge will get you 5 miles". At that rate it would take 70 hours to get a full charge. They needed to charge for 4 plus hours to guarantee they made it to Lubbock. They stayed for 30 mins, and she got upset and they left. In 30 mins they used 13 kW of electricity. @ 16 cents per kw. The 70 hours would equal over $290.00 for a full charge. Now I have waited to post this because I had to run the numbers over and over. They came out the same every time. I drive a diesel dually and get 15 mpg if not towing. 42 Gallons of diesel cost $232.56 here and would get me about 630 miles. Pulling 20,000 Lb. trailer I get 9.5 MPG., that is 399 miles for $232.56. I get better mileage for my money driving a diesel. You electric car people need to get with reality. If you own an electric car and take it out of town, you are an idiot. In town I will give you the benefit of the doubt. EXCEPT----- Did the dealer tell you that it costs about $30,000 to replace the batteries in your car. Batteries, according to the Tesla web site last 5 to 7 years. And Batteries are considered "consumable items". Good luck getting them changed under warranty!!!!! I'm done now. Thanks for listening. Not to discredit the story but the math is wrong unfortunately. a 20 amp circuit can put out 2400 watts an hour. That is 2.4KW not 24KW. So in the story he says 13KW in 30 minutes, it is actually 1.3KW used in 30 minutes.

Hey guys,
I've got a new to me Desert Dynamics and it has a full body including windshield. Everything looks great but the windshield is very small and I would like to have a shop cut the aluminum frame to fit a larger windshield. The windshield is flat. Anyone know of a shop located in the North Orange County area that can handle this task at a reasonable price?
Thanks

I remember reading about several board members using a guy located in the Riverside or Berdoo area and he specialized in turbos. Hoping someone can share his contact info and hopefully he is still around.
Thanks

Kinda necessary though. We've had basically free money for a couple of decades now. Only so long you can binge drink and solve tomorrow's hangover with more drinking.
Great analogy

Spindles are King Kong and the front end is a stock Gen. 4. Has anyone had any issues running that size tire on a Funco?
-
Hi guys,
Has anyone closed off the front of a gen 4 including a windshield and if you have, did you have any overheating issues with the radiator tucked down below the mid rail behind the seats? Thanks.

Curious if anyone has driven a Funco with coilovers instead of airbags and can give a comparison between the two.

Hard to tell but is the chassis also powder coated ?

2004 Funco Gen 4 with 2D and 2.5 turbo Subaru
Up for sale is a beautiful Funco Gen 4 built and assembled by Funco. Car has a unique history. Car was used for a few years then sat for over 10 years in a garage and not used. After the car came out of its hibernation, the car went to the shop and had a long list of work done to it. John at Outfront has had it twice and over 16K was spent with him on new parts and Dyno time. LRS also had the car and rebuilt the drivetrain including rebuilding the mid board hubs and race prepping the 930 CV’s. The 2D Mendeola tranny was rebuilt right before it went into storage. John replaced everything basically bolted to the engine, including new header, turbo, intercooler, injectors, fuel rails, fuel lines, fuel pump, intake manifold, throttle body, wastegate, BOV, and the list goes on. I also bought new seats, new belts, new front and rear tires, installed a AEM digital boost controller and the AIRLIFT 3P digital airbag system to lower and raise the car. Has new whips with remote control to change colors, center console storage, new master cylinders and rebuilt calipers. All bypass shocks have been rebuilt. John Tuned the car on E85 fuel and on the top setting of the boost controller it made 515 HP at 22 pounds of boost!! Lowest setting is 15 pounds of boost and made 355 HP. This car hauls butt and is truly a turnkey car. I had zero issues with this car and it ran flawless. Car has Rugged intercom system with car to car radio. Below is a itemized list of new parts. Have all receipts for the work performed. SOLD
New parts:
Engine parts:
New turbo and new header with heat shield
New wastegate
New blow off valve,

Looking at buying a SCU and wanted everyone's opinion. I am a duner and like to slide and drift the car. Between the Little Bro and the Mid Bro, what are the differences and which one dunes better? I think the Big Bro will be out of my price range but what is the differences of the big bro as well? My goal is the 2006-2009 year range
Thanks for the feed back.

Post a pic of the rack. What air pressure are you running the Baja pros at? Have you messed with the bypasses? Either front or back?
I ran the baja pros at 6 psi this weekend and 12 psi in the rear tires. Didn't seem to make a difference.
Rear shocks I just had rebuilt, I have not messed with any of the bypass tubes yet.

Hello Funco Family!
I have recently bought my first Gen 4 subi powered 2D Funco and for the most part absolutely love it. Car turns like no other and the 2.5 Subaru motor is legit quick. Car is a blast to drive. Car has the 14.50 dunesports in the rear and shaved 33 Baja pros in front. Running 38 PSI in front bags and 42 PSI in rear bags
Here are my complaints:
1) Harsh ride over ruts left by other vehicles. Suspension feels stiff and beats me up. After 3 days in the dunes my neck is sore from whiplash.
2) Car doesn't land very smoothly from medium size jumps. Larger jumps and car will bottom out. Again, suspension feels stiff or harsh and really bangs you around in the cockpit.
3) Steering kinda sucks. Lots of feedback and the steering wheel wants to rip out of my hand in extreme conditions. At higher speeds it requires to hang on with both hands. Example, as I am turning the wheel and hit a rut or dip, the steering wheel becomes hard for a split second and I cant turn it. All the heims are new and steering shaft, including the steering bushings are new and free of any binding. My guess is the rack is no good or the pump is no good or this set up (Ford or Funco rack) is just outdated and needs to be upgraded.
4) Would upgrading to the 5 way 3" rear bypass shocks and the 2 way 3" front shocks be worth the $4500??
Thanks for any feedback

Did you ever sell the orange/black 4 seater?
LOL, I did sell it. The guy who is trying to sell it now is the new owner. He is asking a ton of money for that car. I need to change my avatar pic

I've got 4 Xtreme Revolution 35" 16.00-15 tires for sale. 2 of the tires are factory trimmed to the #1 paddle and are 4 trips old. They are in perfect shape with no dings, chips or any sign of wear. The other 2 paddles I bought from another board member and they are brand new but never trimmed so they have all the paddles still on. I tried cutting them myself and as you can tell by the picture screwed it up. After messing up cutting the paddles off the tire is when I bought the set of paddles directly from Xtreme and had them shipped to my house. This is a package deal and am selling all 4 together. Pretty confident someone could vulcanize a patch from the inside over the area where I cut too deep and still run these tires. As you can imagine, I have a lot of money tied up in all these tires. Asking for $1000 for all 4 tires.
