  1. I bought one of whipsandshyt's tall sand jacks and it was great. I still had to use a 4" block to get the tires off the ground due to the wheel droop on my turbo S. A buddy has one of the Kartek extensions and it worked well too. The biggest difference for me was mine was easy to roll around on the sand with the bigger wheels.

Here is the one I had (I sold my S to a board member and he bought the jack too):

  2. I am buying my ticket this afternoon and will post it.

Same rules as before, each line you purchase will equal 1 share of the winnings, the jackpot and the $1m prizes will be split among participants, any other prize is the ticket holders and not split, and must have GD.com written on the ticket and and a photo of the ticket posted before the drawing takes place (8pm the night of the drawing).

If I missed anything please add or correct the rules, I'm going off memory and probably missed something.

    This sucks

I have done this before trying to speculate on single stocks. That is usually a bad Idea. You will always have buddies that tell you about the whale they caught but never about all the ones that got away.

Next time just buy low a cost index fund like VTSAX and leave it alone for decade or two. I think this year it is up like 25%. If you try and make a quick win in the market you will get smoked in most cases.

    Get rich slowly !

This is a good read if you want to learn about why you and no one else can pick winning stocks

Good info, I would add a suggestion though. Target Date Funds are also an option. I managed my own investments until a year after I retired, I then handed my portfolio to an investment advisor. When I managed my portfolio I used ETF's, Target Date Funds, and some in bond funds. I did dabble in international funds but they are volatile as hell so I nixed that. The nice thing about Target Date Funds is they usually are actively managed and rebalance as they approach their target date, so they follow conventional wisdom on investing.

Also as badgass mentioned, pay attention to fees. High fees will eat at your profits especially as they grow. There are a ton of funds with low fees available, and I believe Vanguard has a lot of funds that are very reasonable as far as cost. I totally avoided loaded funds.

I'm going to get that book you mentioned. Looks like a good read.

How much weight are towing or plan to tow? Maybe this was covered earlier in the thread but I didn't see it. One thing to consider if you go Ford is to really look at the different tow ratings. In earlier model years there was virtually no difference between a F2500 and F350 except a taller block in the rear end. In 2017 when Ford went to the Aluminum body this all changed. The tow rating difference between the F250 and F350 changed substantially.  So just do your homework and make sure you get what covers your needs.

I'm a life long Ford guy too. My Grandpa was a service manager for Ford, my dad was Ford all the way and that's the trucks I drive too. I had an 02 F350 with 7.3 diesel for like 12 years. It was a great truck and I kept it because I knew the 7.3 would just about run forever. In early 2018 I decided it was maybe time for a change and I come across a deal on a 2017 F350 with the 6.7 Powerstroke that only had 800 miles on it. I bought it and am really happy I did. The difference in power and trans gearing with the 6 speed just can't compare to the old 7.3. And the creature comforts in my fully loaded lariat are fantastic. I think my favorite thing other than the power difference is the adaptive cruise control. My F350 is not a daily driver so it only has about 44k miles on it now. I hope to keep it for a long time.

I think the difference between diesel and gas really depends on how much you drive and what you plan to tow. It's pretty easy to do some math and figure the cost difference for the MPG difference.

Great points. I had a '13 that was a F250 knowing it basically was the same as the F350. I went with the F350 in '17 since there was a difference starting with that MY.

I always found it interesting that Ford offered an option to de-rate the F350 starting in '17 for those states that licensed by GVW. Same damn truck that they just changed the stickers on reflecting a smaller GVW at extra cost.

  5. I asked my son in law who is a sales manager at our local dealer and he said that every car they have on order is sold. Nothing is sitting on lots in our area. And they only charge MSRP. The car business is really crazy right now!

On a side note, here is a list of GM vehicles being shipped with some options not working due to the chip shortages. Gm will activate the options when they get the chips in stock. They are offering $50 for the inconvenience which might buy you less than half a tank of fuel.🙄

  6. Here is an example of what is available up here: Ehttps://www.cargurus.com/Cars/inventorylisting/viewDetailsFilterViewInventoryListing.action?zip=97392&fuelTypes=6&showNegotiable=true&sortDir=ASC&sourceContext=carGurusHomePageModel&distance=500&sortType=DEAL_SCORE&entitySelectingHelper.selectedEntity=d343Maybe these are in your budget and worth a trip to buy?

I had 2 6.7's and loved them. Relatively limited issues, mostly electrical gremlins. Never had a drive train issue and both trucks primarily towed heavy loads for thousands of miles. Fuel mileage was not bad either, up to 22 mph on the freeway, mid teens in town, and 9 - 10 mpg towing a 41' toyhauler. One was a F250 and the other was a F350 srw.

Edit to say the link did not show what filters I selected. I searched diesel only and it shows gas trucks. There are 6.7's up here in the 40k-50k range with fairly low miles.

In the last 6 months or more, the only time I have worn a mask is on a plane.  I personally feel like people are going to ignore this mandate at this point, people are done with this...........................

I wished I could say the same up here where I live. We are between Portland and Eugene, two of the most liberal cities on earth. Wearing a mask at all times appears to be a badge of honor for these freaks. Not uncommon to see people by themselves driving with a mask on.

We have been under a mask mandate since last summer and the Oregon Health Administration just proposed to make the mandate PERMANENT! When the director of the OHA was questioned about it he said permanent does not mean permanent. WTF?

  8. I had a Rockford Fosgate system in my last RZR and it was a great system. I had SSV in my previous cars and the RF was much higher quality IMHO. The components in the RF were top notch and it was plug and play with perfect wiring harnesses built for the specific car. Easy and very clean install.

  9. There are a lot of dealers selling C8's and Z06's when they come out at MSRP. The 3 big dealers are all on the east coast and they all sell at MSRP. You can order through them and have it delivered to a dealer near you. There is usually a charge of $500 to $800 for a courtesy delivery.

I ordered from Criswell in Maryland, the 3rd largest. If I had ordered from Mcmulkin or Ciocca, both on the east coast, I would have had the car by now. Live and learn. My intent was to fly back and road trip it home, but it looks like I will have a courtesy delivery since I will be taking delivery in the middle of winter.

I misspoke earlier about the probable number of Z06's being built. It's not 30k but likely to be 30% of all C8's built might be Z06's. There will probably be around 30k+ C8's built this year. So the Z06's will be hard to get. The waiting list at the big three for the Z06's is already long. Your best bet for getting one sooner than 2 or 3 years is finding a small dealer that has allocations or pay above MSRP which could be a $50k premium.

It seems like that would be the correct answer...... Until you see that Ford and Chevy are in the same location, Yet GMC is further.  Is a GMC not a Chevy with just a fancier trim package for the most part ?

And why is there yet another Chevy sticker ?

And what is the one between ford/ Chevy and GMC ?

    GMC = Gay Man's Chevy.
