I got it in Feb 2020. 3 out of our 4 family members did as well. My ten year old barely showed any symptoms. My 18 year old was mildly sick for 2 days. My wife (50) did not get it. She however is on  Hydroxychloroquine as she has Lupus.

My son in law's family also got it from myself. His wife and child both got it. He however did not. He was also taking  Hydroxychloroquine as he has a mild case of Raynauds .

This all happened before the Anti-Hydroxy propaganda. THEY want you sick. THEY want you dependent. Yes, we have gotten to this stage.

I struggle with all of the cray cray conspirator theorists over the last couple years. But when China, Venezuela, Big Tech, huge foreign money,  and our Libs all work together coupled with the most dumbed down population this country has ever seen I simply can not deny it any more.

My wife has Lupus too and was taking Plaquenil (hydroxychloroquine) for years when she was younger, thankfully her Lupus seems to be mostly in remission now. (she got stung by a bee in the 90's and the Lupus symptoms lessened significantly, but that's another story)

The way the media and the Gov officials portrayed hydroxychloroquine was nothing short of extremely dishonest and immoral. The risk they played up, cardiac issues and retina damage are miniscule. My wife was on high doses of Plaquenil for years with no side effects. And so have many other Lupus patients and others with rheumatoid arthritis. In most of the world this drug is available otc!

So the same people that lied about Hydroxychloroquine can't understand why people are hesitant to get the vaccine? There has been too much dis-information/politicization in the last year  around Covid for people to feel confident about getting vaccinated. And I don't blame them for being skeptical.

BTW, I am vaccinated, J&J shot. There are reasons why I did, but I support anyone to do what is right for them and not what others want them to do.

  2. 38 is best in my opinion. All my buddies from NorCal take 38 when coming to Winchester, as do I coming from the north. Only one hill to pull and that is short, probably less than a mile long, and less curvy than most coast highways with several passing lanes. Also less traffic on 38.

Check out the elk preserve just before you get to Reedsport. There is usually quite a few elk just off the highway and quite a few bulls. Also the Sugar Shack just as you come into Reedsport has great donuts and baked goods to stock up on for camping.

I did the same cabinets, but a little smaller. I think 16' total length. I bought them at Costco online. I would agree that they are middle of the road. Mine came a little beatup. I had to beat a few of them back into shape. I figured they are garage cabinets and are going to get abused anyways. I couldn't imagine the hassle of trying to return them.

I also got this set at Costco. I lucked out and had no damage. This set is 18.5' long.

That is awesome. Really like the fridge as well !

    Thx.

The fridge is awesome. It's retro style, rounded corners and old style handles. Right before our move the wife and I were in Home Depot and saw it. We already had a garage fridge but we thought it would look nice in the garage. We have some signs that are retro that will be garage art and the fridge will match that and the red cabinets.

  5. There were some post on cabinets on the site before the crash and I thought I would post mine now that they are mostly done. We moved into this home about a month ago and I just got around to installing these last week. I still have to install valances on the upper cabinets, metal slat wall above the work benches,  and lighting over the work benches.

These are New Age cabinets, their Bold series. Not heavy duty, but I wouldn't call them light duty either. More like medium duty. I love the roll around cabinet on the left. I had a smaller version of these at my last house and they served me well.

I mounted these to the wall and the feet help support the weight of what I put in them. But because of the slope on the floor, the cabinet nearest the garage door was far enough off the floor that the feet wouldn't touch the floor. They have white plastic inserts in the feet. So, I used one of the white cutting boards from the kitchen and used a hole saw and cut some shims to fill the gap. The wife wasn't amused with my improvisation when she saw her cutting board with a few holes cut in it!

  6. We have been to several Dunefest over the years. The event went from a well organized event to very disorganized mess a few years ago and we quit going. But I heard through friends that it was improving in recent years and we decided to go again in 2020, but of course Covid cancelled those plans.

I enjoyed the events when we went. The drags and course racing was two of my favorites along with the freestyle mx shows.

Lots of rookies on the dunes during the event so you need to be cautious when riding. Banshee Hill is the main gathering point, similar to Olds when its crowded. Great time to park and watch the circus. Vendor row used to be pretty decent, not sure how that is now. It went downhill when the event got disorganized, but again, I've heard that has improved.

If it is like it was 10 years ago it was worth going if you like watching the craziness going on. Again, i heard it's back on track but I have not seen it myself so I can't personally verify that.

  7. Something I just realized and might impact your plans given the time frame you mentioned, Dunefest at Winchester is July 27th to August 1st. Winchester will be a clusterfock for a few days before the event till the end of the event and the sand will be torn up bad. The good part is it will take pressure off the other riding areas for that week, so might be less crowded at Coos and Florence.

  8. My personal favorite Oregon dunes is Winchester. There is no beach access for OHV but an easy walk to the beach. I know these dunes like the back of my hand and think it is best for "duning". A lot of hidden trails  and tree shots that are a blast on quads.

Coos is broken up and has tons of trails and beach access but is usually whooped out bad pretty much everywhere. The north end, Spinreel and Riley Ranch is my favorite area at these dunes. Coos is the largest area of all the Oregon dunes.

I am not overly familiar with Florence, but found it hard to put together a long flowing ride there, tons of razor backs but great beach access.

As for camping, it might be hard to find camping in an improved campground due to demand in the summer. You might luck out and find a cancellation you can jump on. All the areas have sand camping sites, but those require a reservation too. Winchester has good overflow camping that is first come first serve. The area where Dunefest is set up is what the county uses as overflow camping and is a large area so getting a spot shouldn't be a problem.

Weather is unpredictable all summer. If it's warm inland the coast is usually cold and windy. We camped at Winchester on the sand the beginning of last August and it was cool and windy the whole week. We never had a camp fire the whole week due to the wind.

Great thread, I am looking for cabinets right now. I am looking at the NewAge Bold series brand that Costco carries. Anyone have any experience with these ?

I have these in my current house which we sold and the new owner wanted to buy them so I sold them to him and bought a new set for the new house.

They have been great for me. They are not industrial grade by no means, but more than adequate for most garage mechanics IMHO. The set I have now still look new. I really like the roll around cabinet. I can roll it out and work on big stuff, and get it close to whatever I'm working on. I bolted mine to the wall and they are solid, no movement at all.

The grey set are what I have now, the red set is what I am putting in the new garage when we move soon. I also picked up a new garage fridge to match the cabinets on sale at HD. The new garage should look bitchin when I get them installed.

Its all relative, the only problem I see in upgrading is the property tax hit.  Especially if you have been in your current house for a long time.

    Good point.

In my case the property tax bill will go up 40% even though the value is only 50k difference. We lived in the house we sold for 13 years and property tax increase limits kept the tax bill lower. Will be paying full boat on the new home at least for a few years.

  11. We are not in your market, but it is crazy up here as well. We sold our house and are waiting for our new house to be completed. We listed our house and it sold before it even hit the market, got an all cash offer 25k more than asking. The house we are buying is under construction and the builder accepted our full price offer, which was fortunate because it already appraised for 35k more than our accepted offer.

In my opinion it's proportional, sell high buy high, or sell low buy low. Same result in the end.

Disclaimer, I am in no way an expert.

Before the forum crash and loss of history there was a post on the BC thread about how to purchase crypto. Of course I didn't save that info!

Can those of you that are buying crypto explain where to go to invest directly in the various crypto's on the market? Any tips and warnings would be welcome too.

I'm thinking about dabbling a little in this market for fun.

Did a little research and figured it out. Opened a Kraken account. I'm going to buy some Doge and have some fun watching what happens.
