  1. I just went through the process of figuring out what flooring to do in my garage and ended up choosing Race Deck flooring. I like the look of the floor coatings, but the professionally applied coatings are expensive and the cheap ones don't last. Here is a photo similar to what I am going to do. (My flooring is coming first week in January). I'm doing 2' checker squares, not 1' in this pic. Around 700 sqft for my 3 car garage.

One advantage of this flooring is you can replace tiles if they get damaged, and you can tear it down and take it with you if you move.

Here is a thread I started on cabinets:

  2. Funny you posted this, I did an in depth study on this subject years ago. And my findings were not surprising, butt vociferously denied.

When I was a foreman of a line crew I would take my crew to coffee in the afternoon before heading back to the shop. We would get our drinks and find a nice place to sit where we could enjoy the scenery to wind down after a hard days work. I started paying attention to my guys reaction whenever a nice unit went by. Whenever a well kept sedan or hatchback went by, the guys would give each other a heads up, either vocally or with an elbow bump. After the sedan or hatchback went by there usually were several comments about how nice it was, and if it were theirs, what they would do with it. Butt, whenever a well kept SUV went by, there were no heads ups or elbow bumps given. Butt, every single time, 100% of the guys would totally check out the SUV after it passed, some with a lingering glance, and many with a long wishful stare! Butt not a word said at the risk of being embarrassed for desiring a SUV and admitting to their buddies that they would love to have one.

I am comfortable with admitting I'm totally an SUV guy!!

BTW....good thing mopeds were not mentioned in this post. That study baffles me to this day!

  3. I should have mentioned that I ordered the diamond "tuffshield", which is a solid tile with a high gloss finish. And I have a 700 sqft 3 car garage.

The buckling is my biggest concern. They recommend a 1/4" gap on the perimeter for expansion, but I plan on leaving a 1/2" for good measure. And living in Oregon, I'm hoping the heat isn't as big an issue as area's like AZ.

  4. Does anyone here have Racedeck garage flooring or have any knowledge/experience with the product?

I purchased this flooring yesterday during their black Friday sale and should have asked this a week or so ago, but still am interested in feedback on the product. I don't do any welding in my garage so hot splatter won't be an issue.

Are you happy with it? What issues if any? Any tips on installation and maintenance?

    Thanks.

  5. Take a look at Dutch Bros and see what they are doing. They went from being a few locations around here competing with Starbucks and are now in several states and have gone public. They are doing something that has set them apart from the big boys and if you can tap into that and make it fit your business plan it may work for you? I have always said my best ideas were stolen from someone else.

The only thing I have to add is bikini barista's are popular here! Just sayin! :makerain:

  6. The race did turn out awesome after the first 4 laps. Perez did an amazing job coming from 11th on the grid despite losing second place on the last lap. Some good hard racing and some exciting overtakes throughout the race. It was fun watching a street circuit with plenty of passing unlike other street circuits.

  7. You might check out Rockford Fosgate. I had one of their systems in my 4 seat S. I think it sounded great on low and high volume. RF builds their systems specific for each model with wiring pre-measured and plug and play. Very clean install. Sub was under the dash and replaced the glove box on mine, sounded good.

Edit to add that I just looked and it doesn't look like RF makes a kit for Kawi's. They only list kits for can-am and polaris.
