  1. Using this one for 2 years - no issues yet. LS3, dual radiator fans, small oil cooler fans, heated seats, electric power steering, light bars, etc.  (It's 160 amp). Volt gauge always above 14 volts even at idle with fans running.  I liked the fact that it was AC Delco...I'm using Odyssey PC950 battery...smallish, but was what I had room for from previous owners battery tray....so far so good.

  3. Red way, 20 minutes if moving at a decent speed and in a hurry to get to the destination, and legal (most people cut through a small finger if the closure (red line to the left and I've never seen a ranger monitor that space). Blue way 10 minutes and typically no rangers on off-weekends...But I've seen them during busy weekend monitoring the area on more than one occasion. Play at your own risk.

  4. Funny as I thought about doing this same thing to my bike - I came across the below item but never purchased it...seems odd that it would only work with incandescent bulbs though? - might be worth asking the site owner if that's accurate.

Turn Signal Running Light Module – Electrical Connection

Add running lights to any 12v motorcycle’s turn signals!
Allows your front turn signals to also act as running lights and then switches back to turn signal function when you activate the signals.
    Nothing else needed!

Easy installation – connect left turn, right turn, running lights, and then ground the module.
Output to the left turn signal and the right turn signal and you are done.
Only works with standard incandescent bulbs.

I have a circular saw with intermittent start, i think the overload sensor is malfunctioning. Will have to take it there and see if they’ll swap it

Hope it works out for you - last time they just fixed it, this time a new tool came unexpectedly. Here is an example date code: - so this one in example was manufactured in 2023, week 15...So it should be covered under warranty until 2028 week 15.

  6. Wanted to share my recent experience - dropped off an impact gun on Tuesday to the Milwaukee store in San Diego, and a brand-new gun arrived on Wednesday to my house (24 hours later, i couldn't believe it) - free of charge.  I guess they decided a new unit was better than fixing my old?) They all come with a 5-year warranty and the year and the year and week the tool was manufactured is in the serial number.  In example, 2014 was in mine - year is 2020, week it was manufactured is 14.

  7. I think most of the people that stop in the middle of a good line don't realize that they are putting themselves in danger - and of course somewhat ruining the fun for others.  Like its been stated before on this thread, no one is really in the dunes on these large weekends, so when you stop you don't really expect anyone to come close to you...but 10 minutes later, here comes a huge group.  I'm a firm believer that most people mean well, very few individuals seek to piss off others intentionally...it's more lack of common sense than anything. It's hard to tell someone they shouldn't park in a certain spot without sounding like a know-it-all - you just have to hope they'll see someone else stopped in a shitty spot - and be like...hmm, probably a bad idea.

  8. I have a buddy who likes to be ride right behind me - I'm always worried he's going to slam into me.  I don't know why he and others like to be so close - to me it takes the fun out of driving...I'd rather watch the leader and pick slightly new lines if needed, plus no need to eat each other's sand....but to each their own - glad everyone is OK.

Why do people who like to drive so close to each other enjoy it? I'm curious to know the reasoning. Makes it more like you're racing?

  9. 14 inch shaft 2.5 and 10 inch shaft 2.0 piggyback fox shocks that were removed from an Alumi Craft sand car. Fronts come with a softer set of valve shims.
2.5 shock springs are 400 for bottom and 350 for top spring - total length of shock is 38.5 inches.
2.0 shock springs are 350 for bottom spring and 250 for the top - total length of shock is 25 inches.
Shafts in both shocks are 7/8
    $1500 obo.

  10. I first met Don in person when I went to purchase his car - I didn't know much about it him...As we were looking at the car both Don and his wife would make comments about his son did the majority of the wiring, thought the car could be a little stiffer upfront, etc.  As we were driving back from the bank, I asked Don why his son didn't want the car? - That's when I learned that his son passed from a heart attack at age 45,..I of course felt horrible for asking the question.

As the deal went through at his house - his wife began bringing all the paperwork from the car that she kept track of- three 3 ring binders full or receipts, manuals, and handwritten wiring diagrams that his son put together...they both made comments how detailed they were, that they used the diagrams when getting the car dyno'd - and how people would tell them how detailed they were. They were both very proud of their son.

As we loaded up the car I could feel the emotion they were both going through - I can only imagine how something like that could affect a couple.

I kept in touch with Don after buying the car - sent him pictures of my first trip, random sunset photos, random advice questions, etc.  When the Northstar failed in the car and I decided to put an LS3 in it - Don tried to convince me to put another Northstar in it - he even had a used engine at his house that he said that I could have...It was hard to disagree with him on this, but when he later found out that I was having Alumicraft help change out the engine, he seemed to be happy about that :) - I think he was worried I was going to hack the car apart.

I shared all the progress photos with him - asking his opinions on things, etc - in the end he was impressed with the results and would tell me on more than one occasion that he was happy the car went to me.

Anyway -- that's my story.  He was a great guy and seemed to always be willing to help - and the reason I nominated him. RIP Don - thanks for being a good person in life, it's getting harder and harder to find those type of people. Hope you and your son are finally reunited!

  11. Another vote for jet trim...due to the width of my car i went with their medium containment seats...and I really like my crow 2 inch belts...no rubbing on my neck. I think you can special order the lap belt in 3 inch if 2 inch is a safety concern for you...all black hardware and quick releases too. Love them

  12. Make the Most of Your Student Loan Grace Period | Within Reach (salliemae.com)

See link above - they won't straight up tell you you'll save money if you pay it off before the grace period, because they make less money if you do...read between the lines - i.e "Even though you don’t have to make payments during grace/separation, if you can make some—no matter how small—they’ll help you save money on your loan over the long run."

At a high level, you end up paying the accrued interest...in example, you were in school for 12 months, waited an additional 6 months (18 months total) - you pay the interest over those last 18 months, the interest does NOT start to build up after the grace period, you get pro rate f'd on interest basically.  And yes, exactly like the furniture loans...i think the only difference is the loans for schools will sometimes come in disbursements...first "semester" is say 5k, 3 months go by, another 5k, disbursement, etc. - so the 1st 5K is the "longest" loan, and each disbursement after that is not as long....so you pay more interest on the 1st 5k because you were loaned the money long ago as compared to future disbursements...hope that makes sense (I'm not in finance) - and I think when you make payments, you can say - please apply this payment to my first disbursement...most of the people in these schools suck at their job - if you're lucky you get someone who understands and cares and will explain it.
