May not be a great choice. We are called California east. The libs have ruined this state! He may get a few years but its going downhill fast.

I live in Fruita and this town hos been transformed from a farming small town community to a liberal bicycling mecca.

My Aunt in Naturita tells me all the time about the liberal politics in Telluride governing over the areas all around them.

  2. On my third lithium powered 10 year kidd in my apartment. The first one started going off after using some powerful cleaners around it. I killed it with a screwdriver by shorting the battery on the back in the slot provided. I bought a second one to replace it out of pocket assuming the fumes setting it off had been my fault. I just had a walk through to check alarms and it wouldn't quit chirping afterwards. I got so fed up that I killed it again. Ordered the third and I'm starting to think it's an issue with the kidd brand and I should try another brand. What do you think?

  3. It's not just elementary . I'm in trade school and up till this semester, my classes that should have been 20 kids were 3-4. My two classes this semester have 12 and 3, and the kids for the most part have no business being in those classes. They have no basic skills or fundamentals.

  4. I've used a product called ducky specifically for water spots. It didn't get 100% of the spots off but once followed up with a cleaner wax application, the paint looked great. The cleaner wax will completely remove the peeling clear coat but the remaining paint will be unprotected and oxidize again without a protectant. I use good old carnauba wax to pretty good effect but it will need to be reapplied every 6 months.

@Fireballsocal, Pala aint that far from you.  ~860 yards @ the furthest point.

Just under 80 miles. I have west end, lytle creek, route 66, and a handful of indoor ranges close by. Hodge road for when I want to gamble with my life. I would never make it out to Pala unfortunately. I stick with plinking. Lots of fun even though I'll never be a Chris Kyle.

Bike is used almost every weekend so I don’t think bad gas is the problem.

I was thinking junk built up in the injection system. There still might be something in there stopping correct fueling. Is this a symptom that just popped up or something that has always happened with the bike?

  7. It was a more or less well known saying that you came down the left side and went up the right a long long time ago. Later on, you saw the fast buggies and quads further toward the right but there hasn't ever been a hard and fast rule. Remember. It's the desert and you are responsible to you.

my next door neighbor just told me he sold ALL his stock and put it in gold,  thinks its going to be really bad in the next two years and gold is way up

got a text from a friend today, reads,  Mark Zuckerberg doesn't build a bunker in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, but 2023 decides to build a MASSIVE survival bunker along with many other "elites"

Gold isn't way up. I'm sure its price is highly manipulated because the price has been knocking around the nineteen hundreds for the last year with a few dips. It's currently sitting at $2060, approx.. $100 higher than it has averaged for the last year. With the premium the dealers are charging between retail cost and spot, you won't be making much profit if any right now unless you bought gold before 2020.

  9. I'm assuming its your daughter? Be careful passing her off to the instructor. You or your wife riding along would be ideal. Those situations are taylor made for a weirdo to use manipulation on your kid. I was sent to a company called drivetime. I didn't pick up on it at first but the instructor was a weirdo.  He suggested we swing by his place so he could open up his windows. I stayed in the car after he asked if I needed to use his bathroom and I declined. Thinking back on it, it could have been a very bad ending. Students want to be on their best behavior to make the instructor happy and a pedophile would gravitate to those situations.

I had a custom loft built that has an open 8' x 8' center that we can put all our stuff up in.

The pull down doors suck cause they are too small to carry things up.

    :thumb:

Would a unistrut style elevator or one of these lifts that fit in your loft opening be of use? As I age, the powered lift mechanisms look bad ass to me and my back.

In-laws roof: $15k, tearoff included.  1400sq ft of regular roof area, plus another 400' of torch-down for patios, etc.

Recently? Again, that is what I was expecting.

We have a little one at the moment with a 12K estimate.

Just had an escrow close on a condo. Wall heater didn't work, so we needed a rush replacement.

One HVAC wanted 500 upfront to even show up before giving pricing.

One company quoted 7K for a wall heater replacement. The poor owner was about to hand over her credit card. Called me and I said absolutely not.

1300 dollars later the new heater was installed.

People have learned that can take advantage of people. A lot of homeowners were improving homes on "easy equity" and didn't mind overpaying.

It's what makes sense. These crews have so much work that they can throw out quotes like this and someone must be accepting them.

    Not sharing to throw shade...

We did a tare down to the plywood in March.  Home is 4,400; the 4-car detached garage building 2100.

No plywood needed replacing.  ~$26k with all TOTL GAF products- underlayment, boots, etc. using their newest UHDZ shingles.  Their VP came out to inspect it all as we were one of the first in E. TN to get these shingles.

That sounds like a hell of a good deal. Triple the house for less than our lowest quote and higher end products.

Played Golf with a buddy that owns a roofing company yesterday, he still out 6 months for new roofing on anything, and still working thru repairs from last spring from the rains.  Your going to pay a premium until they slow down some.

Dead on. The last quote made sure we knew the were booked till May. "Make me take this job" quotes make the most sense so far.

Yah that seems way out of line. I know costs have gone up but come on now! We had our house re roofed in the summer of 2020. Right in the midst of the scamdimic.
Not a large roof but 2 story and a pretty steep pitch. I found the company on offer up out of all places, and originally enquired about a tear off only. They said they can do that, but they’re a licensed roofing company, And did I want a quote for the complete job. I went for it and they did a good job, and while they were at it I had them replace my facial boards. They stripped the old roofs and I think there was 4 total. Old house and I’m guessing the wood I could see from the attic was original wood shingles. Total tare off, plywood, added  some supports, paper, and shingles. Totally happy with their work. I’m in Colton and I think they’re out of Riverside? So you shouldn’t be that far for them. My total cost was $10,900, plus another $1000 for the facial boards.

    Good Luck D.

Sounds like they quoted the price for a roof now and the second one in about 30 years when they have to redo it under the warranty

I think you are on to something. It seems that the warranty is the only thing that changes with the cost of the quotes.

I paid $17,500 for mine about 4 months ago, but it was a new house build with plywood already laid out. I went with CertainTeed’s Landmark pro.

We did my grandmothers house last month with CertainTeed's Presidential Shake TL shingles for $28,000. That was demo, all new plywood, synthetic underlayment, and TL shingles.

I would think that's expensive for an 1800 sq/ft house but the new plywood and tear off of old would add some cost, and value.

In-laws just got a quote for $14k here in San Diego. I’ll find out details.

Prices are fully insane right now.

That's perfectly acceptable for name brand products installed by a licensed roofer. That is what I was expecting but triple? Whoo boy.

    This was 4 years ago,

But my shop is 2250 sq under roof,  and I spent $11,000,  this was no tare off,  so i would think that would be around another $5-8k for the demo with roll off boxes and permits and mine had no warranty,

Mine was bare roof, so i paid 3K to have them come and sheet the roof with plywood, I paid for the plywood separately think that was a couple of grand, think around 2k at the time,

A family of 5 that spoke only Spanish and  there son was a translator and worker had it done in two days

This price was included with the Tile

I was quoted 20K originally and go it down to 11K,

@sandroosten was my contractor so as the roofed it, he watched every step of the way,   Then can be a risk using a non licensed roofer and doing your own construction management, but can save big money if you know what you are looking for or have someone manage a work force.

I'm not comfortable running a crew at all. I've always been an Indian. No aspirations of being a chief. That would be a good way to go though.

Right. I'm familiar with it as a roofing and siding for steel buildings. I see it pop up around here every now and then on homes but it offers no real benefit on a wood sheathed house over shingles. Beautiful house up the pass from me had a galvalume roof put on and had it re-roofed 20 years later. Shingles are the best bang for the buck.
