I duned with him before, but didn't know him well. RIP Duner. As someone mentioned, COVID hits everyone differently.
So sad.

Yeah he was awesome.. I respect the fact that he kept his cancer hidden as he didn't want it to 'distract' from his work. Must be hard to do, but respect for that. Dude had a great wit and mind. He'd come up with the funniest and wild things off the top of his head. I think there's a Jerry Seinfeld Comedians in Cars with him that I remember was pretty good.
RIP Norm.

I don't recommend lifting 'tow trucks' .. probably because I'm white (J/K).. no I just think they're best set up the way from the factory. .. agree with many other points here. My 2008 Chevy Duramax Dually 3500, all I did was move from the stock 225 bicycle tires, to the biggest I could fit without lifting, 285s. It actually looks the way it should stock, rides great. The wheels have a rear billet spacer and stick out of the wheel well only about an inch.
My $.02.

PS. With those leaf springs it'll rattle the teeth out of your mouth.. ride was vastly improved just by upping the tire size.

Well from Laguna Hills, I can see pretty much straight to the ocean so I'll look for it. I love watching that stuff. My father-in-law worked for NASA in the 70s/80s and my wife and family lived in FL.
They'd go to the 'pad' type area and watch the whole deal.
Thanks for the heads up!

Werd... My Suburban 2005 doesn't stop that quick.. my (then 16 year old),.. who is 22.. slammed into the back of a non-moving compact car and crushed it.. she was looking at her phone.. light turned green and all the 6 cars ahead started to go except the guy in front of her.. looking down out her phone, she made the trunk disappear.. I only had to replace the front plastic valance.. Burb had zero damage...
.. That's the quandary.. .get them a tank.. or something easy to park with fuel economy?

Good choice… my brother-in-law just got this for his 15 year old, she’ll be 16 in April 22 and my daughter is 3 weeks younger May 22.
Wife and I are looking.
They only made 2000 of this Isuzu VehiCROSS…. For this year, ‘99 I think.I like it. 6 cylinder on 33’s.
Not sure what we’ll get ‘the baby,’ but it’s not a great time to buy IMO.
We might just get an Elantra like I got my 22 year old when she was 16.

I can't imagine this is true... If it were, then you'd be justified in not offering medical treatment to illegals (which I wouldn't support as it's just cruel), but I do think a deportation once treated is warranted.

My first house in Rancho Santa Margarita, California had crazy fees.. like $249 and another for $49 each month.. HOA and Mellorouse sp). So my property taxes were 2.1%. I now live in unincorporated Laguna Hills. No HOA and only 1.1% property tax.
After my car was towed like 3 times and we sold, I vowed to NEVER own a property with an HOA.
We have a friend who owns a Condo in Kauai (lots of us just own weeks, we have 3).. they had a HUGE project at her place and had to pay an additional $2k/month for 1 year (every owner who had a week, got an additional $500/week bill).
EFF HOAs.

Saw this eerie picture on FB. Yeah, you never know. Al Qaeda caught us off guard for sure. I was staying with my Dad at his gorgeous pad on Lido Island, enjoying coffee and the view, was not living in my house (going through a divorce). My Step-Mom was in Hawaii (she was stuck there for 2 weeks). We got a call from my sister who was in Ohio at the time. .. saw the burning first tower and watched the 2nd plane hit the other live.. it was CRAZY...
They never talk about it, but the one they crashed in PA I think was supposed to hit the White House.
Told my Dad I knew EXACLY how they pulled it off, ' pocket knives and numbers - people, maybe 1/2 dozen per plane.' I was spot on, but it was box cutters not pocket knives.
You never know when they'll 'call you up'.. so sayeth the lord.

Yeah and it’s ‘little’… very low chance I’d buy it, but it would be a blast! The way the motor hangs out, I’d just hope it wouldn’t hit the pavement if I had her all the way over… probably not.
I scrap pegs all day knee dragging

I saw this at the dealership as I was picking up my 2014 Razor. Looks like it's got a big motor, thinking a 1200cc. It's small like a cafe racer, perfect size for me, shaft drive, probably ABS. Someone traded it in, don't know model or how much they want for it. The old knee draggers like my 89' GSXR 750 was small. Seems all the new sport bikes are the size of of Ski-Doo.
Thanks,

I voted for the other guy... Appreciate getting DOTM for my 'flag project.' .. I'm not sure what he did, but giving away canned goods isn't even something .. really.. I'll have to look it up. If you're honoring a lost memeber.. well that's the sh__.
"Great to be in the company of men" - can't remember the Movie.. but..
Thanks,
abc
PS. If you wanna give me DOTM.. do it for the custom painting I 'drew' on my smudge pot with black and white BBQ paint. I made a template off of the internet.. I think I hand painted it.. maybe I cut it with an exacto blade and sprayed it... it was the coolest smudge pot EVER.. This is almost like 15 years ago.. Pismo...

I should check with my wife. We have tons of Halloween stuff and I’m not sure we will be setting up the house anymore as my daughter is now a sophomore now and the older kids have moved out.

Went to the HS football game to watch my youngest, a sophomore, cheer (she's the little one on top of the pyramid).. Yesterday got back from Rialto, had a break in the weather (high of 84) so a buddy and I hit Lidel Creek Wash to break in the 2014 Thursday (spent the night there). .. weekend plans.. yeah.. work .. then I'll work.. even Monday.. I'll work .. have tons of inventory to get on the web before the allocation of semiconductors ends.
Had a wild idea that I might off both SXSs, Toy Hauler (cause it's too small) and go back to a sand car. The SXS nowadays are fun, but there's nothing like that V8 power/torque. I'd have to dump the TH cause it won't fit a sand car.
I'd buy what I was gonna buy before I sold the SCU. A 44' race trailer that has a 24 foot 'house' area with a gooseneck queen, full bathroom, kitchen and a dinette. The 20 foot separate garage would be for the car, fully outfitted with all the tools, spare parts, fuel station, winch, the whole shebang. Already have the 3500 to tow it.
If I did this, I might be out for a season, cause I'll take my time to find the right car. Must have at least a CBM 415ci stroker with 4.0 Whipple, 35" tires, S4S, S5S or bigger. SCU, Alumicraft, Elite... possibly a Funco, but I'd have to get some seat time/passenger time to make that move.
Also, I just can't get anyone to go ANYWHERE else but Glamis, so if that's the case, eff it... get back in the beast!
We'll see...

Now ... had it been Judith Priest,.. I would have scaled 12 foot barbed wired fence in my skivvies....

... Ugh... I just worked.. I haven't worked this hard in over a decade. Cataloging new inventory is SOOOO boring. .. but I have to 'feed the beast.' Did hit the Jacuzzi last with the wife.. slept in some.
Watching the weather to see when I can break in my 2014 1110cc, with 0 hours on it. I'm trying my best to stay WAY ahead on season prep. If I see a relatively low temperature in any desert spot, I'm off to it. Probably just need 1 weekend to re-organize and clean the inside of the TH and should be all set. Need to fix the trailer brake deal on the dually 3500 (lights only).
Then it's just the gear bags for each RZR to set up. I sure don't miss messing with all that (quad) riding gear and machines. Full injection from here on out BABY!
Best,
abc
PS. Met Dave (board member) today to give him my 'dooms day' canned food pile for his church.

My TH has 100 all the time… I have a pool .. not sure if you can make it drinkable without a still.
I had 2 55 gallon drums (empty) that came from a malasys plant.., sold them… maybe gave them away for free… used them for my TH so I could take 200+ gallons for a 10 day trip.
I have a four barrel (filter) reverse osmosis for my tap.
water … hmmmm

Cool beans. Yeah, I want to put about the same $$ I spent on my half-ass attempt into better stuff. I plan to keep about 50% at home, 25% in the TH and 25% into one of my storage units (spread it out) should one or more of the places become 'compromised.

My Dually just hit 85,000 miles today. I bought it with 36,000 over 10 years ago, so not even 5,000 miles/year. I'm sure that will change once my wife and I start traveling more in the 5th in a few years. Here's how it looks with the 285s. It look really weird with the 225s. I think it looks bone stock with the bigger tires, no lift.
