Is that Polihale beach? If so we enjoyed how quiet it was and the ability to Jeep onto the beach!

Yup … my favorite beach on the whole island.

They had another landslide in Hanalie Bay, so limited access to the other side .. might not be hanging with Mr. Hamilton.

United’s first class was money. Electronic seat that you can put all the way flat.

Unfortunately, we passed a highway death headed to the airport. Saw the roof of a crashed car off and the body splayed out on top as folks were running to the crash off the right shoulder, just caught a glimpse as we were in the carpool lane.

I guarantee it happened within a minute before we came upon the wreck.

Eerie…. Reminds me life is short and I’m blessed to be here, etc.

Anyhow, it’s bug spray, sunscreen, fresh fish n cocktails… until further notice.

    Peace.

  2. ABC n' family are wheels up tomorrow morning for 2 weeks in Kauai. All our COVID tests (had to have someone online live monitor us taking the test) came back negative, QR code, etc. Not looking forward to wearing a mask for like 9 hours (entering LAX and the flight all the way until we leave the airport in Lihue), but whatever. Wife move us to first class so fingers crossed they're more lenient. I aint gonna make trouble and mess up my trip ya know.

Pulled all my inventory off the web, so my business is officially closed. I've only done that once before when I went to Greece for 16 days, 2019 October and it was great... a TRUE vacation.

    Can't wait to go!

  3. That's a good one... Headed to Metropolis night club in the 90's we were punching it down Harvard Blvd. (kinda outskirts of Irvine) in those days and passed a cop going the other direction, we were so close to the club and both very drunk (ashamed of that), told my buddy to hit it.. figured we'd park and run inside, but we got caught in the parking lot. My buddy blew like a .23 or something and they asked me to blow the hand held, well I had a 'weird idea' that I came up with, I took several deep breaths and exhaled before hitting the little toy.. it worked and must have cleared out the alcohol, cause it picked up nothing!... 00.0 .. the cops released his car to me, drove back to Garden Grove where I lived and I was probably still drunk when I picked him up at 7am the next day. Again, disclaimer, not proud of the drunk driving, but it was a weird deal.

I told the cop I had asthma and that's why I needed to take some deep breaths before I blew on it... they bought it, and I figured I didn't have much to lose (they would have gotten me for drunk in public since I wasn't the driver).. I almost wanted them to write me a note or something, but thought better of it and just left with his car.

Pretty lucky I didn't kill someone or myself with the stupidity of youth. Thank God for Uber.. before COVID it's helped with my alcoholism knowing I can go full tilt and still get home. Lots of times I don't remember the uber ride home.. I just wake up and I'm in bed. I don't even drive to a party or bar cause I know I'm gonna uber home.. just uber both ways...

    abc

  4. Ha,... I've ditched the cops on street bikes on several occasions in my youth.. First time I was riding this (my buddy was too) a 1988 YSR 50cc.

    1988 Yamaha YSR50 | Bike-urious

I went to HS in Irvine (Woodbridge class of '90) and we used to scream these little rockets on residential streets late night all tuned up.. well on a main street Mr. Law lights us up and me and my buddy gave each other the 'nod' and took off .. quickly got on sidewalks and it wasn't hard to ditch him and we were smart, took all the little sidewalks right back to his pad and hid them in the garage. We were skateboarders during those years (before they put the anti skateboarding stuff on stairs, etc.) and it was the GREATEST place. The whole neighborhood inside Yale loop was brand new. First city I'd ever seen with no street power lines (all underground) and there wasn't so much as a crack in any of the sidewalks.. so I digress...

Another time I was riding a '78KFX 750 which we had converted to a cafe racer. No pictures, but mine was orange and we did put a little handle bar faring on it. Air cooled. I loved pulling up to expensive street cars and blowing their doors off with ease as most motorcycles (even old ones can do).. heck you're just strapped to a motor and 2 wheels, right? Anyhow, for this one, I was about 19 years old down on Newport Blvd. Traffic was dead stopped at a light and I was splitting lanes at 70mph. That's a big 'No No' as the law states in California you can split lanes no faster that 10mph above traffic's speed, so long as you are not exceeding the posted speed limit. So technically, I was only supposed to be doing 10mph.

Anyhow, on this one a motorcycle cop going the other direction saw me screaming buy and I could see him flip a bitch and his lights go on, well I make a quick study of him, BUT I didn't park and hide my bike. So about 15 minutes and maybe 5-10 miles away, a BUNCH of Leo's found me at another light... I was 'surrounded' and figured I was in deep, too late to bail, so I pulled over. Cop was SCREAMING at me.. he pulled my keys from the ignition and through them in the gutter, cuffed me, balled me out.. I was released with a misdemeanor ticket for reckless driving, going 70mph in a '10mph' zone, since that's the rule. Anyhow that ticket was $775.00 back in like 1991.

Told the judge I couldn't pay it and they assigned me to 4 days community service. Being a young pot-head, I kept going back to court having not completed the service. Last court date, judge says, 'next time you come it, it will be 4 days in jail if you haven't completed it.' Well sure enough, I didn't so around 9 am on the final court date, Judge says, 'OK 4 days in the county jail, when do you want to go?' I said,.. How about now, so the cuffed me and I spent most of the day in the holding cell under the court house with some SERIOUSLY scary dudes (awaiting their murder trial, etc.). Anyhow, got to ride the jail bus to Santa Ana Main, shower and delouse, etc. About midnight I get a bunk, lie down and was woken up around 3am that same night and cut loose (overcrowding). Needless to say, it was a more fun experience (and shorter) than doing 'landscaping' in the summer for 4 days.

    http://www.pipeburn.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/01_09_2016_Kawasaki_KZ650_Brat_Clockwork_Motorcycles_02.jpg

All the other times I bailed,... maybe 3-4.. I made sure to 'hide the bike' immediately and get out of dodge before they had time to get back-up and find me. Bike was always where I ditched it (usually put under trees or bushes, etc. careful not to have the hot motor or pipe on vegetation as I didn't want my bike to burn up).

Wild times... and one heck of a long read. .. I can type as fast as I can talk

Y'all have a GREAT weekend!... On Sunday I'll be on a jet plane bound for Kauai for 2 weeks.

  9. Thanks... Regret throwing 'a fit' in front of my sensitive little 15 year old daughter.. will have to apologize when she wakes up. Friend of my wife's picked them up and I dealt with AAA. Cops never came. I don't think I need them for insurance (should the bill be big enough to file)... since I have photos, etc.

Ugh.. The sun will rise.. right?

  10. .. So yesterday we meet my parents at the IKEA parking lot in Costa Mesa (as we always do), ditch one car and head up to my sister's place in Newbury Park for a birthday celebration... great time... really drunk... Come back and my parents drop us back at the lot and leave before I figure out that my steering column is jacked. They popped the door lock and tried to 'jimmy' the ignition... Had AAA take it to the dealer, just got off the phone with them. Dude's like '.. yeah it was armature night.. I've been doing this a long time.' .. had a chuckle with the service guy... I'm like. 'couldn't they like, .. watch a YouTube video and figure out how to steal it (better)?'

Anyhow, wonder how much it's gonna cost? The shifter was frozen and the AAA guy had to work underneath to get in neutral for a minute. Steering column is pretty jacked. My wife was gonna try to drive it home, but they broke off a 'tool' in the ignition.

OK, 1st world sh__ but I was raging last night... AAA about 10pm. I jumped out at Rockfield and Lake Forest and increased my drunkenness' at Buffalo Wild Wings... had some of that parmesan garlic ..

Off to Kauai Saturday, so trying to get my 'island mellow' on... Used up all my curse words for the year... If I would have caught the dudes, they would have died and I'd be in jail forever... OK, ... take some Xanax.. or hit the Vodka?... JK

  11. I'm on a 1 week countdown to go to Kauai with my wife and youngest daughter (15) who is bringing two of her best friends for 2 weeks. Week two, on of the friend's mother will be joining us and we'll upon up a 2nd unit. Wife is 'stressing' dealing with the testing protocol which will eff up your trip if you don't get the right one, during the right window, etc. She's been messing with it all morning.

I've been quickly busting out a Last Will and Testament for us in the event that we croak, etc. as well as making up a list of stuff, all for my Dad. Feeling quite irresponsible that at 49, wife 51, we haven't set-up a living trust. My 3 oldest children (in their 20's) won't be coming, so at least there will be some roadmap, should the worst occur.

Other than that just prepping the house and clearing out stuff from my camping trip last weekend at Lake Piru (it's a sh__ hole, don't ever go there, but we still had fun).

OK, gonna hit my gym to 'expel' the anxiety... 😬

  12. Happy ending.. hope the family and child set boundaries and have precautions moving forward... when our teenage girls ride around camp within a few miles, every kid has water, charged phones and tow ropes (which we've taught them to use)... and they're expected to check-in every few hours. Mostly they go to vendor row or something.

All my kids rode with their teenage friends.

More worried about them getting smoked by a large vehicle than anything else.

  13. One night I was chillin' in my jacuzzi (we back to a bike path and creek so get critters from time to time, have a pest guy, so not in the house fortunately) and I felt something weird at my feet, picked it up with my toes and it was a dead waterlogged lizard.. gross.

Another night in the jacuzzi with my wife and about 2 feet away (my backyard is 75% pool and jacuzzi, 2 feet of concrete to the fence line) and we see this little tail going back n' forth.. it was a cute little baby skunk. Needless to say, we carefully exited the jacuzzi as not to get zapped. Little family had burrowed underneath the slab. There's a steep hill down on the other side of our fence.

Finally, a few times we've had ducks in our pool. They usually just take off, but this one time they were all little babies.. so long ago I can't remember if the mother was there too, think it was.. Anyhow, we got them all in a box and brought them down to the crick where they hang.

I grew up with a pool in the backyard and we chose our single story 3 bedroom (nice view too), instead of a 4 bedroom, 2 story, with no pool or view for the same price and so glad we did. Converted the dining room into a bedroom probably like 10 years ago as we had 4 kids living at home.

They're great entertainment, but remember statistically more dangerous than having a gun in the house. .. getting off topic, but I know several families that lost kids due to drowning (they got out back).

  14.... I'm kinda a Crypto troll,.. so ... got 10 of these good (replica, they're heavy and made pretty nice) ones for $13 each and having a blast putting them in the check for a dinner bill and asking for $38,500 in change.. LOL... Just tried to pay the dealership for service on my diesel yesterday..., etc.

Cyrpto is the biggest Ponzi scheme ever. I'm shocked how many folks are 'into it.' Fundamentally the ONLY way you make money on this useless 'asset' is the greater fool theory. It's just transferring wealth from those who are in early (and lucky) to those who come in late and will lose. I'll bet we'll have plenty of divorces and 'Crypto Suicides' as a result as the years go by.

I don't have ANY problem with the lack of morality/ethics. It's not YOUR responsibility to look out for anyone's financial interest but your own. It's a free country and people have to learn. All you hear is from those 'pump up' dudes and HODL people... you never  hear from the people who got cashed out due to margin calls (and lost it all) or those that got spooked and sold at a loss because they're too embarrassed to admit it.

That being said, I do have a buddy who is literally now worth 8 figures due to playing with this stuff for the last 7 years. He's had his initial purchase $$ out for some time now. He at least had a 'strategy' to liquidate 10% or so at certain price points. He's still in, but has a FAT USD bank account that he won't put back in... I wonder how many thousands .. or hundreds of thousands of 'late adopters' essentially have just transferred their 'wealth' to him?

Good luck. I sincerely hope you make money.

  15. Crime has soared since the BLM (communist) movement. Would you want to 'engage' if you're in law enforcement?

I think silently many in the field are saying, OK, you want to defund us? See what world you live in when you have less patrol/enforcement.

Frankly, I don't blame them. Thankless job... blame the woke left.

I'm increasing security around my perimeter here in Laguna Hills where it's 'catch n' release.' I've filmed (and had detectives in my home to get the footage for a several crimes in the last few years) right outside my home... Then followed the cases.

One joker has been arrested 36 times over the last 3 years and only did a few months. He had a bunch of drug possessions, burglaries, resisting arrest, assault, stolen car (that one was a felony) and it's just a joke. Dude is out on his own RIGHT NOW,... no bail for a crime he committed July 2020 (latest) and pre-trial doesn't even begin until July 2021. When he broke into the mail boxes and all the cars on our block. It took me 3 days to compile the 4 hours of him pulling all the door handles and going through the mail right in front of my house (2018). They stacked up all his crimes and he did a couple of months early this year.

The other one is a 'freak house' unlicensed weirdo home. I filmed a PEDO whacking off in front of my house as my wife and daughter, neighbor and daughter (who all saw this) were on their way to school. He's in some mental facility right now.

I'm currently pursuing legal action to get rid of this place that was here before I moved in 18 years ago. Ran by a ex-doctor who had to give up his medical license because he lied that he was testing his patients for drugs (and wasn't) and had one (or more) died on him.

Anyhow, I've got my lawyer on him now. Doubt anything will come of it... probably just blowing cash.

Look out for your loved ones... seriously.

    abc

PS. My house would sell for nearly $1M in today's market... My Ring and Next Door Neighbor app seem to 'chime' with increased crime over the last couple of years.

  16. Gladiator,... Yeah, I got all the print work from one spot, totaled just about $1k. They're really nice quality and I had to choose something 'big' for that one wall that faces the mirrors. There was also a really good Predator one, also 5 piece of the 'team,' but it was black and white and since the floor and walls are black and white as well as the equipment, the Gladiator pic was an easy choice... love that movie.

Always gives me a little pump.. then of course I have Stevie Ray Vaugh (my favorite guitar player), Jimmie, Bob Marley and the Val Kilmer one from Heat behind the door.

... Have you ever been in a Turkish Prison? ...

    abc

PS. I looked up large Gym mirrors and they were like $400-$600 each and had horrible reviews, so I just bought regular bathroom mirrors 3' x 5' and turned them at 90 degrees, $55/each from Lowes, there's 3 on one wall and 2 on the other. It's pretty much done except for a few more bars (small n' large) for the row and pull down machine. I also might add some small shelves to set whatever's in my pockets, phone, wallet, water, etc. but so far, just tossing that stuff on the ground in the corner has worked out alright.. maybe I shouldn't mess/clutter it up.

  17. ... I have 3 girls.. and 1 is a freshman in HS.. so no eye candy.... I don't want them to know their Dad is a perve.... LOL

If so, I'd have this poster back up (from when I was in HS)..

  18. As many of you, I'm still in morning over all the lost threads, but I guess if I'm bored I can just start reposting. This was one that was lost right before the GREAT GD/COVID crash of 2021.

Anyhow, I've been lifting weights (off n' on) since I was 16. I have/had serious short man's disease all my life being 5'5 1/2". When I entered my senior year in HS I weighed 90lbs (and just hit puberty), by the end of the year I was 120lbs. I got really really into training in my 20's and weighed somewhere around 190lbs + at the most. In those days I could squat 315 for reps... the hair between my thighs rubbed off in a circle pattern since my legs were so huge.

During my journeys I've learned a lot about how to train, what works, injuries, etc. My 'fitness goals' are much different at 49 than they were back then and I have to admit for the last 4/5 years I really haven't been training consistently (going for 2 days to the gym, then not going for 4-6 weeks, then back for 2 days, etc. is really not working out, right)?

Anyhow, fast forward to COVID and since my son had moved out (and we already have a spare bedroom, only 1 kid of 4 still lives here), I decided the dining room of our 3 bedroom house that we'd converted to a bedroom would make a perfect little gym. We threw that wall up like 7/8 years ago as we never used the dining room. It's 12 feet at the high side and 8 feet on the low side, which works great because the Rogue Fitness machine is 9 feet tall (and like 800 lbs, was HELL to get it in the room).

I will NEVER have another gym membership. I love the solitude. .. and since I work from home 40 feet away from the entrance there's no excuse not to get back on it. The sign I have here is what is posted on the outside of the door.

I would say the 'conversion' and all the equipment cost me in the neighborhood of $7500. Some of the stuff I've had for over a decade, like the Power Block adjustable dumbells and bench (believe it or not, I used to bring them to Glamis back in the SCU days on 7-10 day trips).

My son wanted me to put up a bunch of Arnold posters, etc., but I decided to buy all this cool wall art instead. Helps add color and I think it was the right way to go.

OK, coffee is in,.. time to get my pump on!

    Best,

    abc

  19. I'm going to Lake Piru next weekend with my sister, brother-in-law and some of their relatives. I guess some of them want to tent camp, but we have a full hook-up spot and my TH has 3 queen beds, 2 twins, so we'll see if any of them decide to sleep in the trailer. I've never been there so not sure what I'll bring. I have 2 e-bikes, so I'll bring those and my brother-in-law is bringing fishing gear.

Guess we might rent a pontoon, wake board boat or maybe some jet ski's. I'm not going to bring any SXSs as I doubt you can use them around there. Plus I only have 1 of my 2 back after blowing both motors (I'll make a new thread for that) near the end of last season in February 2021.

Wife seems to have a busy weekend, so I'll probably just chill and do household stuff.

Oh just cracked open my 'novelty' Bitcoins I ordered. I wanted ones that were heavy and quality so I bought like 10 at $13 or so. If anyone knows me I HATE Ponzi scheme Crypto currencies so I'm going to send some out to my like minded friends/family as well as a good buddy who is now worth 8 figures because he's been playing the Crypto game for over 5 years (good for him, right)?

I plan to keep one in my pocket and mess with bartenders/waiters and slip it in the bill and then ask for change of $35,000 or whatever the coin is going for minus a tip... LOL.

They come in these little plastic deals, but then they clickity clank and that would drive me nuts so I took a hammer to one and cracked it open. Didn't damage the coin so that's how I'll roll.

    Everyone have GREAT weekend!

  20. Yeah, my only social media 'outlet' is GD.com. .. and I like it cause my name is an alias (but I'm sure someone could figure out who I am, etc.). .. I haven't posted on my FB in 5 years and only turned it back on a year or two ago to sell off-road stuff on their market place (as I heard it works pretty good).

My New Year's resolution was to take more time off.. less screen time is part of that IMO.
