  1. We raced CR125's in our shifter karts at Daytona for Kart Weeks - pinned for at least 3/4 of the time.  Probably ran it too lean for the weather like Pennywise said - main or fuel.  When "the air is good", it can catch you off guard if you're too lean.  Conversely increased elevation or increased water vapor/humidity can cause it to be too "fat".  Most people run two strokes safe to cover a variety of weather conditions unless you know what you're doing.

  2. The guys in my group think I'm full of BS but I know I saw my buddy's @Hednjry and @Skogie Funco's do it because I drove through it.  I only saw it happen at a certain speed where I think the weight, versus momentum, plus power causes the sand to build up under the paddles until they dig in again.  Didn't do it at all speeds but I know it was him because the dunes were butter smooth right after the wind and I was third in the line.  Here's one grab from my GoPro where you can start to see it happen - there were more times when both rear tires did it.  I still choose to blame the SXS's for most of it though...

  3. I've worked for companies that want to buy a domain name and they can go for way more than that ($10K - $150K+).  I'm not saying yours would be worth that, but if it's something that fits a product, service or company perfectly that amount is a drop in the bucket compared to what a company can profit from it.  Following this thread to see other's input...

  4. Not sure if it qualifies as a jury-rig, it's kind of a known fix.  But years ago had an F-250 with the 6.0 Powerstroke.  The EGR cooler went out in Flagstaff, AZ and it sat at the dealer for four days ruining our vacation to get fixed.  We got it back and headed down the road home to Phoenix.  Pulling the first big hill I hear this "pop" sound then a big whoosh and I lose all power.  The hose had blown off the intercooler.  My buddy says just wipe it off and put it back on - they probably hadn't tightened it at the dealership.  Went down the road about a mile and bam, same thing happens.  Now it was time to do it my way - I had heard to take fingernail polish remover and clean the rubber hose where it attaches to the intercooler and then spray hairspray in the hose there, put it back on and tighten the clamp.  I did that and never had another problem with the hose again until I got rid of the truck.  BTW, wife had all that stuff in her travel bag, it wasn't mine LOL.

  5. Have had a fish tank for the last 25 years plus - always freshwater though.  I wasn't up for the maintenance and cost of saltwater.  My tanks have always been in the 125 to 135 gallon range - 6' long and 24"+ tall.  I don't do the live plant thing even though those tanks can be beautiful, I just don't want the variables that come with that (fish eating them, snails, etc.)  For those that don't know, these fish can live a VERY long time in a home aquarium with the correct filtration and living conditions.  I had one fish we just lost that we acquired from my wife's office when they removed their tanks.  It was 30+ years old (older than my son) and we lost him when I had to purchase a new tank and he passed during the transition/cycling process.  I have a clown loach right now that's well over 25 years old.  Thought about getting rid of the tank often, but I can't let those old timers go to another home and potentially killing them.  I guess I'm a softie but most my fish die of old age or some kind of long-term affliction.  Hint: the bigger the tank and the better filtration you have, the more success you'll have with way less maintenance.  My tank gets cleaned about every 5 weeks, other than that it's just a once a day feeding.

In the pics you'll see mostly small fish, the big loaches (8"+ long) are hiding in the back and off to the right side because the lights are at their brightest.

  6. I have both but prefer OTH for comfort and function.  In my case, the BTH can hit the headrest area of the seat under certain circumstances which is annoying.  BUT, I've noticed the OTH can start to blow back under high speed runs sometimes (sand highway) and you can wear a ball cap if you want under the BTH.

Everything factored in, I wear OTH.

  7. Fun when I break?  Not at the time, but afterwards the troubleshooting, fixing, drinking and BS'ing is the best part.  I really like when I can help someone else get through their challenge.  Having the right pulley when theirs locks up in the dunes, having relays, o-rings, you name it and I always bring my welder on big trips such as T-Day.  Don't want a frame crack to end the weekend.  We've used the welder the last three years from frame cracks to fifth wheel hitches to spring hangers.  One time welding a buddies car and didn't notice the ground clamp was by a steel braided brake line which the clamp decided to use for a ground - while working to fix one problem we caused another...

Our group always seems to have what we need or something we can use to get by unless it's a catastrophic failure.  And we've had those too...

But like @NIKAL said, those are the times you remember most - and laugh about now.

On IG Pratt said this IS because of Newsome's mandates. Unvax had to wear a mask, who is going to regulate that? Lots of BLM & Sheriff presence and Pratt doesn't want the fines levied against the restaurant,,,, paraphrasing what he posted on ig

This ☝️ - having employees in the position of mask patrol is a losing proposition.  With all the opinions and choices being made out there it puts employees in the line of fire if they try to uphold the establishment's/company's rules.  It's the same in corporate offices these days.  Teams like Facilities Management or HR are having to act like police to enforce rules they don't even believe in just to keep a job.  You'd have to believe Duner's Diner would have their hands full dealing with so many of us that are against the mandates.  It would put employees in a place they don't belong or want to be.  So I respect the decision if it's strictly due to the impact on the employees, the fines and/or legal backlash that could come with it.

I was just going to add the same picture. I was hoping to finally go there this year.

Great minds...  We were looking forward to it and seeing the staff we've all got to know.

  10. I just got all new PRP's last year and love them.  All the adjusters works easily and the padding on the chest belts is just enough and comfortable.  My wife can adjust the belts easily which we all know is a plus.

  11. Parker and Lance have been great to work with.  So appreciative of those guys working to keep the parts flow going and our stuff out in the dunes.  Their parts are very high quality and pricing is fair.  So many companies have gone the way of the SXS market and it's nice to have a USA manufactured source of parts for our big cars.

I have a DJI Mavic Pro and it can do it. Up to 35mph.

I have the same drone, but I don't have the stones to try the follow feature for fear of losing it.
