Oh yeah, another F-150 gripe: the HVAC controls require you to push a button that brings up a screen menu, then you select defrost or face or feet.  There's a max defrost button, but it cranks the AC, heat and fan to the max.  If you turn it down, it cancels the defrost.

But, that's a complaint for most new vehicles.  RIP buttons.

Only if you have the fancy model, I still have buttons

  3. Back in January I finally let go of my 01 F250 7.3, that was hard to do, to say the least. I picked up a '22 F150, 4 door 4x4, 2.7 ecoboost, so far I have to say I love this truck.  Power is well beyond what I expected, and fuel economy is fantastic, for a truck. The ride is great, and I feel like it's the quietest truck I've ever been in. I didn't get a fancy top shelf model, but feel I have everything I need and then some. Overall I'm more then happy, and when I walk out to it, I feel like it's the best looking truck in the parking lot.

Just your typical ski boat. Open bow outboard, which I think is cool and unique. I have hardly any pictures of it!

Definitely a cool boat, I dig the open bow/outboard set up, makes for a lot of interior space. As for the speed, I think it must come down to hull design, mine is a pad V. When it's up on plane, very little is in the water, also I believe most ski boats have a lower pitch prop to help in pulling up a skier. I'm sure with a different prop and possibly raising the engine you could get more out of it. If you wanted too.

I'm just learning all the ins and outs of prop boats, always preferred a jet boat before this, and a might go back that direction at some point. I'm a shallow water river guy, jet boats reign Supreme on the lower river...

How in the world are you getting 63 out of a 150!?

If I can find some pics of the barefoot boat, I'll post them up. Best I've done is 49.6 or something on Powell two summers ago.

Well this past Friday all I could get was 60. I don't know what happened...

Anyway, I'm running a 21 pitch prop, going to start changing the height and set back next.

Maybe your boat is heavier? How big is it?

Nice sanger, i just read the entire build thread, nice job 👍🏻  reminds me of my first boat, a '77 Hawaiian, 19' 460 ford and a Berkley jet. I had to redo the stringers and floor just like you, I re used all the crappy interior though, cause I was 19 and broke lol. Rocked that boat for 5 or so years up and down the river, 100% throttle, 100% of the time .... good times lol 😆

Looks nice, any pictures of the whole thing?

  8. Anyone else getting ready for summer? Any cool plans? Just gave my little outboard some love.

Polished up, fixed a few minor issues, hopefully go test it out this coming weekend.

It's a 1987 CeeBee Avenger 183. 150 mercury 2 stroke outboard. Seen 63 mph last summer with more rpm to go, but the Bimini was going to rip off, and the dogs were not happy lol. I'll try it again without the top and dogs. Might need to change the prop, height, and set back, but I should see 70 or so.........

We're in Norco with 2510sqft on just under 3/4 acre, July 14 2016 we closed and paid $469K(currently owe 269), it's currently sitting @ $913K+... we're getting ready to vacate Ca due to the potential vax mandate for K-12 so I'm happy to see it still being up. Honestly I can't wait to GTFO of Ca.

I'd love to buy your house Joe, and we can work your boat into the deal too!!

Unfortunately the jump in house prices has completely screwed me, I'm stuck waiting for it to fall.....

I work in the classic car/truck sector and I stop recommending shops years ago.  My advice is to attend local car shows/events.  Take a close look at the quality/finish you want then ask the owners who worked on it and about their experience.

This is possibly the best advice I've heard in a long time.

  11. For comparison sake, I had a super clean 86. Built fresh from the ground up, with a 310 engine. Everything powder coated, extended arms, elka triple rate shocks, the list goes on. 9k investment, and many hrs of labor. Ended up selling it for 3500. The engine alone cost me nearly that. Oh and it had 5 hrs on it.. took a beating, and probably should have just kept it.

I have a chemical that I use to put a patina on mild steel. It blackens it and kind of shows the natural grain of the metal if you want to call it that. No one has it local to me, and I am trying to figure out how to make some of my own. Do you know anyone or anywhere that may be able to break this liquid down and tell me whats in it? Thanks!

Used this stuff a ton. They sell it at I.M.S. in riverside as well.
