  1. Went to Sam’s club to fill up truck and extra fuel for around the house they were close. Depot was closed. Lowe’s was closed it is a ghost town here. I’m usually in the dunes so this is a first for me. Looks like one of my water heaters went bad. Looks like it lasted 18 years. Pulled it out and while disconnecting the hot water tube it tore out of the wall. No stores open!  Look at the pipe. It was only installed 1/8” into the fitting for all this time. Going to cap off every thing until tomorrow. Didn’t like putting the mapp gas torch in my wall snd ligh t my house on fire. Then I put in some forward/ reverse solenoids  before it would just go into neutral. Always had reverse.  These solenoid set is $600 from case. Bought them for $200 on eBay. Picking my son up from idaho  all family coming over tomorrow for our feast  enjoy!

  2. We have 13 1 month old African spurred tortoises (sultata) for sale at half the cost of a pet store. $50. Very low maintenance. Grass, lettuce watermelon rind. Prefer warmer temps. 50 at night to 100deg. They could live inside easy for a year in a terrarium. We also have another 20 incubating right now. Live up to 150 years. We also have two larger males that are 2 years old. 100 for the smaller one and $150 for the larger one   They could be a great Christmas present

  4. Went to my grand daughter’s baptism in corona. Worked on putting panels and body back on the 50,000 excavator. Did some serious work on that over the last three months. Radiator, alternator 3-5000psi hoses. All seals at main control valve, water pump, drive belts, $800 in powder coating, electrical issue, major pressure washes ( like 4) idle shut off control cable. All filter changes ( pilot, return, another I don’t even know what it is  and plexus filters)  then went to our next door neighbors Halloween party, band and dinner

  5. My wife and I do 3 day emergency kits in backpacks for all of our family. 6 kids 13 grand kids. Once a year we get together and dump out all old food and eat it and restock the backpacks for another year. The day was beautiful. Light rain. Lt80 riding for the grandkids, went exploring on the 2 rhinos. Looked at a 40 acre parcel for $230k near my home. Wow.  Then finished off with the jacuzzi, full moon and ice cream

  6. I locked my car with my fob while shopping. As I walked away I heard my car door unlock. I went back and locked my car again three times. Each time, as soon as I started to walk away, I would hear it unlock again!! Naturally alarmed, I looked around and there were two guys sitting in a car in the fire lane next to the store. They were obviously watching me intently, and there was no doubt they were somehow involved in this very weird situation . I quickly chucked the errand I was on, jumped in my car and sped away. I went straight to the police station, told them what had happened, and found out I was part of a new, and very successful, scheme being used to gain entry into cars. Two weeks later, my friend's son had a similar happening....
While traveling, my friend's son stopped at a roadside rest to use the bathroom. When he came out to his car less than 4-5 minutes later, someone had gotten into his car and stolen his cell phone, laptop computer, GPS navigator, briefcase.....you name it. He called the police and since there were no signs of his car being broken into, the police told him he had been a victim of the latest robbery tactic -- there is a device that robbers are using now to clone your security code when you lock your doors on your car using your key-chain locking device..
They sit a distance away and watch for their next victim. They know you are going inside of the store, restaurant, or bathroom and that they now have a few minutes to steal and run. The police officer said to manually lock your car door-by hitting the lock button inside the car -- that way if there is someone sitting in a parking lot watching for their next victim, it will not be you.
When you hit the lock button on your car upon exiting, it does not send the security code, but if you walk away and use the door lock on your key chain, it sends the code through the airwaves where it can be instantly stolen
Be wisely aware of what you just read and please pass this note on. Look how many times we all lock our doors with our remote just to be sure we remembered to lock them -- and bingo, someone has our code...and whatever was in our car.

  7. got 4.5" of rain at my house  couldn't double check because the mechanical gauge fell/blew over but i believe it  (my neighbor showed 5" with two different gauges)

im at 2050' elevation, 10 miles east of Pendelton/ocean

lots of rain and wind for a long time.  all and all it was nothing super crazy,  best part was the  howling of the wind at times was awesomely loud.  rain at times was coming down at a 45 deg angle

  8. So its been a year, My rocker pool sweep is the best thing ever.  I really never put my normal hosed sweeper back in, why would i?  this thing still picks up crap loads of stuff i have no idea of what it is but it is like cellulose.  i get these super little beetles in there. when i clean the filters i smash them all (they cant seem to get out of the sweep)

the best part is the dark area on one side of my pool that was there for 5 years is gone.  i tried everything and every chemical and scrubbed the crap out of it with no success.  I do not add any more chlorine in the summer months as my IC40 is now able to keep up with demand even though the pool water is at 78-82 degrees

my water has never been cleaner and i run my sweep like 3 times per week for 3 hours.  because no water/power is being used for my old hosed sweeper, i can divert more suction power to my floor drains!  in my skimmer i have so much more power i have to close the little adjustable window almost closed cause if i don't the pump will suck the skimmer dry!

way less chemicals, water is happy, wife is happy

  9. Farmers just bailed California and wont renew,  the Cal fair plan for me this year is $9200 and the Farmers wrap around another $3800--per year ($13,000)

my agent said that the Calif insurance commissioner is a Dem and said no new increases.  as someone stated above, they (the insurance companies) have then all lost money and no way to raise prices--they quit
