  1. elco is badass, checked it out at ls fest west couple weekends ago. dude is seriously a giraffe too

the bigblock will get it done much more reliably than the ls. the question is now im thinking.. how long till they throw a bigger tire on the back?

  2. weekend really started thursday with friends coming to town for desert storm.  street fair thurs afternoon, bbq friday poolside, sat i went to holleys ls fest west at vegas speedeway saturday. pretty cool event, lost of drift/burnout action, drag racing was so-so.. guys on west coast need to get their chit together on their cars.. so many "issues" that caused the track to have be inspected for debris/fluids etc.. talked to some vendors and got some good leads on some parts for a couple builds. checked out the youtubers stuff, cleetus, emilia hartford, b is for build.. etc. ill say cleetus's stuff.. dialed and built nice even though james kicked hte rods out on the burnout truck lol. best part though was hitting up tacos el gordo on the way home.

  3. prices for paint of all types is insane these days..

dunn edwards paint.. paid $80 or so a gallon 6 months ago for an aklayd enamel for my garage. just bought a quart of stain sealer for my air compressor barn doors, $22.

  4. im going the cerakote route myself, which i plan to with my kings.

anodized aluminum fades from uv light, black is the worst about it. its not a big deal to re anodize or coat the parts, just added costs is all.

if its in N and the rear end is off of the ground, they both spin the same direction.

the reason that is, is because there is still enough pressure to keep both sides spinning same direction as your actually turning the driveshaft by hand. put it in park and you should barely be able to turn a wheel if at all when the posi is good and tight.

  6. when i was 3 or 4 around 1977-78 my dad finally had saved enough to buy a worm drive skill saw... i was playing with it apparently (not pluged in just carting it around the garage) and i set it on a 5 gallon bucket of paint. no biggie right? well the bucket didnt have a lid on it, it was covered with tin foil so saw went right thru and sat in the bucket of paint for a number of days i guess, when my dad finally noticed the cord sticking out of the bucket as he was looking for hte saw.  all i recall from that was him in the backyard trying to clean all the paint out of it, which i dont think he could save it.  he eventually got another one in the mid 80's which i still have to this day and just used it 2 days ago.

  7. the diff has clutches in it and is rebuildable. more than likely the clutches are shot and need replaced if all you got is one wheel peel. just jack up rear and leave in park and parking brake off try and rotate one wheel by hand.. if you can turn it, the clutches are toast and the other side should go opposite direction. parts are around $600 from what ive found.  (my 02 dodge dually with a dana 80 has a worn out posi as well)

  8. in my 02 dodge dually if i cruise to socal from havasu at 55 i can go there and back on one tank of fuel. if i go 75-80 i cant.  my normal daily driving  (no towing) i can get close to 500 miles from a tank of fuel. if i slow down quite a bit i have gotten little over 600 before. towing.. all bets are off depending on what im towing. my toyhauler going to idaho i got 8-9 no matter how i drove (total cgvw was at 24800lbs).

  9. well thanks to this thread it reminded me that i had to go the mvd to renew the registration on my dodge dually. i had it registered as a motor carrier and 26k weight for when i did the rv hauling thing. with the motor carrier and weight it was $800ish for a year and i got a break if i did 2 years around $1400 if i recall. went and basically reregistered it without the motor carrier and high weight, now its $430 for 5 years.
