I wouldn’t do anything less than 250amp. And put the larger pulley on it too.

I hate to float our own boat,  but when it comes to offroad Alternator pulley by far we make the best,  we started for Pat Dean on the Race car 20 years ago,

Will try to get them on our site, but it is the way to go,

for Hi amp alternator, this has been a good one for us,

MechMan 8302240 MechMan G Series Alternators | Summit Racing

    BNR,

Have had 2 go bad in 10 years

250 AMP 8299N Chevy GMC New Alternator HIGH OUTPUT SILVERADO SIERRA HD | eBay

  2. factory is a 160 amp,

So my alternator now is 15 years old,

Factory alternators are 2.030,   this is bad if you are running a factory balancer size,   7.87

I am also running a 10% underdrive,  balancer,  it is 7''  round,

My alternator pulleys we make are 3.100 round

What RPM are you running on the Alternator

I am running max of 16,000 RPM,

Some of the Billet Hi am alternator are Hi amp because they put on a 1.750, the more you spin them more amps they make,

I would never spin a alternator over 20,000 RPMs

The customers that use factory pulleys spin them over 27,000 rpms and they NEVER last,

I dont care who makes them you get over or close to 20,000 they are going to burn up the electronics and them the alternator is toast,

Look to see what RPM the alternator is turning and then start from there.

My 2006 suspension unlimited car has a LS 5.7 with the numbers K176. 016  stamped in the block above the oil filter. Does anyone know whose motor this is?

That is not the Engine Number, its below the back of the head,

Then Randy, Performance Motorsports, did a s4D Twin Turbo, stripped it completely down because his wife was done with the dunes, so he sold his 4 seat,  The day he got it done she wanted a 4 seat, Then Sold to DirtyWhitBoy,  JustDirt business partner Rory got the car, it was painted but no motor or trans,  So we built a 454-Aluminum block LS with Frankenstein SB2-LS7 port heads controlled by a holley, Rory sold it to the Custom Shop in LV, he took it out one time at Buggy Roundup then Sold to HondaJimz,  Rory wishes he had the longer wheel base car back,  he said he wished he kept it,

This past week in Glamis I could not believe the amount of groups with kids running around stopped in the worst spots possible.   This were not groups stopped because someone broke.  They just decided it would be a spot to take a break. They were either at the bottom of a dune in a well traveled area or stopped in the middle of a line maybe 25-30' past a transition.  Their kids running all over the place as others tried to navigate around them.

Common sense with their kids went right out the window.

I think the term is called SXS owner,

I have 2 cars for sale:

    Gen 4 G52 conversion all new S4 with LS2 stroked to 416 $135k

SU 2-seat mid engine, LS2 Kenny Bell blower, Albins, new 12.50’s & 36” paddles, Boxed front arms and Fortin Rack $95k (might have a buyer already on this one).

Gerald you only made it one trip without a sand car,  see you in at Prez day,

  8. This was 4 years ago,

But my shop is 2250 sq under roof,  and I spent $11,000,  this was no tare off,  so i would think that would be around another $5-8k for the demo with roll off boxes and permits and mine had no warranty,

Mine was bare roof, so i paid 3K to have them come and sheet the roof with plywood, I paid for the plywood separately think that was a couple of grand, think around 2k at the time,

A family of 5 that spoke only Spanish and  there son was a translator and worker had it done in two days

This price was included with the Tile

I was quoted 20K originally and go it down to 11K,

@sandroosten was my contractor so as the roofed it, he watched every step of the way,   Then can be a risk using a non licensed roofer and doing your own construction management, but can save big money if you know what you are looking for or have someone manage a work force.

Gonna have to look into this. Getting the lap belts really tight is usually a pain! I have also heard about the style that you pull up instead of down.

the pull up to me are even worse than the 4'' gap threads,

The duck bill can get so tight you will lose circulation to your legs

I think my insurance will go after the insurance for Rick's RV Trailer where this happened. After attending that metal PowerTrip festival, I dropped it off as the fridge would only work on shore power, not propane. They were repairing/testing the system when it went up. 99% sure they caused it.

Fortunately this didn't happen with any of us inside as I don't think we would have made it out.

Did you have the propane tanks turned off when you delivered it,  Did they touch the propane system,

If they dont step in with there insurance,  a Lawsuit might extend to, Ricks RV,  Refrigerator company might be in a deposition on install,  But the issue with a Lawsuit, is WW is out of business, so no one to go after,  best bet is to work it out with the RV insurance.

  11. CHILL BUGGY TRIP EVERY

This is not like Glamis,  No Rangers No Sherrif,  just big dessert area,

Big large bowls size of a football stadium,

not very many witch eyes only a couple

But every hill is a Razor Back,  no straight over dunes,  have to roll over every top sideways,

I am having wood delivered,  last year they had a food vendor,

  12. Who ever is considering going,  it is a great group, not clickish and most do not know each other,

If you fear not knowing anyone, hit me up and will meet you at the road guide you in,  and introduce,

Really is a very chill event,

  13. We are planning on the same good times we always have with cars & coffee, a small raffle, TACOS for lunch and even more DUNE TIME this year. So if you have a buggy or just want to be part of the fun, come out and join us. Please RSVP so we know to expect you.

    What is Buggy Roundup?

The Buggy Roundup is an annual Dumont trip when all the sandcar people are invited to come out and camp together as a group. We'll be camped together across from bathroom 10, just off the right side of the entrance road. This trip gives the buggy guys and girls of Dumont a chance to meet each other and run the dunes together for a full weekend without the crowds. So don't be a stranger. Every year we have new people join the camp and end up leaving as friends.

    Schedule-ish

There is no set schedule of events, but it will likely go something like this...

Arrive as early as you'd like. Some get there as early as Tues or Wed. Just don't go hard and break your car before the weekend!

    Friday

Group rides: Link up and get some group rides going.

    Saturday

8:00 AM -~9 AM: Sandcars and Coffee: Pull your car into the center of camp. (Or park it there the night before) Feel free to bring out some donuts or breakfast treats to contribute if you'd like. Just don't go nuts. Grab a coffee, say good morning to everyone, and check out all the buggies. This gives everyone a chance to wake up and get the day started. We'll also have raffle tickets for some prizes that we'll be giving away later in the day so come to the tent in the middle of camp to grab yours.

10 AM Group Ride: Join the group as we form the biggest train of buggies you've ever seen. We'll do a full dune run (slow to medium paced cruise) from the south end all the way through the dunes to the north pole.

Saturday Afternoon: The rest of the day will include giveaways and more group dune runs! The raffle prizes will be given out around lunch time.

  14. I feel the shoulder harness rub on your neck,  if you have non padded harnesses that are tighten correctly they do not rub, because they do not move,,  Every car that we converted to a DuckBill latch gets them tighter than a standard latch,  and non padded harnesses that are tight - you will get less movement in the seat.

If someone at the Buggy Roundup this weekend then you can seat in my car and feel the how easy it is to tighten the Duck Bill Latch setup,
