  1. retirement used to be the time to slow things down, and live a simple / low expense life.  Enjoy your garden... maybe take a cruise once in a while.

I guess if I do it that way, retirement is a possibility.... but to my own demise, I think about one or two 1K+ HP Buggies, stacker, tag axle etc ..... money to fuel, and maintain all that.......not to mention all the other projects, activities and trips when we're not at the dunes. needless to say I will not be retiring any time soon.

The Crow DUCKBILL,  by far the easiest way to tighten the belt,

If you look at the center, the belt tightens right at the center, other belts tighten about 5-6 inches away,  This is very easy to tighten up.

Gonna have to look into this. Getting the lap belts really tight is usually a pain! I have also heard about the style that you pull up instead of down.

I haven't posted any. I haven't really done much to it since I bought it. Did all the necessities like: Motor oil, trans fluid, all new filters, CVs, Shock hardware, checked wiring, engine leakdown, etc. But not enough to justify a "build thread". It's a Cooley built 05 Alumicraft built for Guy Evans as a purpose built baja prerunner. Albins AGB, LS3 525, Fortin floaters, billet 2" hollows, on board air compressor, winch, redundant systems, dual spare racks and more. It was built with the sole intention of covering all of baja from Ensenada to La Paz and has done so many times. Got a front end redo in 2015 by Cooley and has kinda just sat since 2017. I'll drive it this season and then next season i'll pull it all apart and put some aesthetic touches on it of my own. But very very happy with it thus far, especially once I get this voltage gremlin worked out.

    sounds like a cool car!!

    Wow, what happened...?

    Flooding as well?

I just did mapquest to there from my house and says to go past Baker to Kingston road and around!

But is the actual road closed into the dunes?

Yeah the highway / road was washed out right by the area of the baby dunes. They are supposed to hopefully have it opened up in another month or so.  There were some pics posted online.

Fwiw, I'm with Stillwater in sandy eggo, for auto, home and umbrella.  They just sent me the renewal for my home, so I guess they are planning to stay for a while...

I'm not in a high danger area though

FYI Stillwater stopped writing all ne business in CA 6-8 months ago.  If you have current policies and are being offered renewals, you are good to go.

In the state of CA, agents, brokers etc had several (20-30+) options a year ago.... now it is down to a handful of options of carriers still writing new business in the state, and of those writing.... they are being extremely restrictive on what they will accept.

Long story short, stop voting for democrats
