  1. My HOI has been about 5500.00 per year, this year I was canceled and requoted 30k for the year.. 30 friggin grand...

I now have 2 policies, one regular and the other with the "Ca Fair plan" just for fire. Total now is aprox 9k per year with a much larger deductible in case of fire and less coverage overall.

I am no expert but I would not consider our location in a high fire zone.

Question Is.......Did you buy them their Buggies? Peace

    No sir..

Very proud to say I do not buy any of my kids chit. They all have careers and are self sufficient. Trucks, trailers, buggies, homes... EVERYTHING is all on their own. I will pick up the tab for dinner when we are all out together but even then they have been known to pick up my tab on occasion. Life is good.

Oh and they must have been paying attention all these years cause they were on my ass out in the dunes.. Life is good.

Congratulations! I am trying to retire in the next year. How do you flip the switch from saving money to spending the money that you saved. Mentally that is going to be a tough one for me.

Next housing downturn I will retire also. Currently 60 years old (FAK). Silly I know but while I am working I can make myself feel like I am spending someone else's money, when I retire I will start spending MY money. This stresses me out more than the working does 🙂

But I will do my best and enjoy every minute of retirement.

  5. If building/designing new build. Skimmer location in important.

Take a small plastic kiddie pool and set in center of area that new pool will be built, fill it up and put some floatie things in there, maybe even a couple of leaves off of the trees around. Over the next days/week pay attention to where the floatie stuff is always at, it will blow to one corner/area of the kiddie pool. Place your skimmer in the same corner/area of your new pool.
