and I NEVER rotate.
I have a dually. It will never happen as the tires can just be replaced!

Just be cautious, neighbor did the quad to his early 60's then took a bad hit. Air lift, hospital stay and end of dunes for him. Not saying it can't happen with a cage, but you certainly increase your odds of a better out come with one.
I now crested 70 and have no desire to fall into sand at any speed, even walking!

the annual Barrett Jackson auction.
Sold a car there several years ago. Disappointed in how they work it. If not a showstopper they whip it across the floor and spend no time taking bids. Fees, outrageous if it should happen to sell. We ended up doing a deal in the lot afterwards and avoided the fees.
Now, this weekend, yard work, ick!

As for mine, almost perfect. Only flaw, she will not go to the dunes with me. Yes, I would really like her to go, miss having her there.

30 years in the collision repair industry and I feel State Farm was one of the best to deal with. Just show them documentation, be honest and fair and your good. They earned all my insurance business.

Looks great! Critical area is when you cut the pivot tube, but you have braced it well imo. I had to do this on my mid-engine to do a motor change, never had an issue.

I was thinking of parting it out
My thoughts as well or give to my son. I put my car on craigslist in a few locations and also race-dezert.com. Time will tell. Now if you're willing to finance at low interest and no money down.

Do the wood in the wheel boxes.

I was thinking about adding a backing plate behind the six dimple dies in each wheel well. So you don't see that much tire. But the more I look at it I think it needs to stay the way it is. Maybe I'll cut a piece of metal out and put it there and take a look at it. I left an inch and a half for tire flex which is more than enough so I could add a backer plate if I wanted. Now it's starting to look like something.
Know you probably won't be taking it out in bad weather, but you never know when you are out and find water from some source. Think of ways to keep road grime out of bed area and off motor. Wheel well plates may be a good idea.

Trying to post some adds for my sand car. Got a text wanting to know if still for sale. (almost as soon as I finished typing). Then one asking to avoid scam, so they know it real I should reply using their code. I told them if they want to know its real get there ass over and look at it. Been no further contact. Hard to believe.

Update...finally pulled the trigger on a custom build. Granger Ford in Iowa had the best price (invoice minus 2%) but before I send them $1000 deposit, I wanted to see what local dealers would do. I ended up ordering from Aaron Ford in Escondido. They are selling me the truck at invoice which is about $1400 more than Granger but I figure I'll be spending about $1000 picking it up. I also like the idea of not putting an extra1500 miles on the truck.
Now wait and see if Ford sends you a coupon that can be used as cash on any new purchase. They did this to me for 2000.00. Took it in and the dealer accepted it. Saved me 2k.

Broke Down Buggy Crew!! Glad nothing's changed!
@Mac you are on point, 100%. Unfortunately that's a big part of why I sold out.....hoping that economy thing cleans this chit out. Enough deaths in SxSs and they will stop selling them like they did 3 wheelers. 20 years or so and just about all of them will be gone! Of course, I'll be 80 in 20 years...so Eff!
Amen!

This is probably a rocket in the smooth stuff!
Internal bypasses on rear and had it all tune by Carl Mason, not bad in the rough either.

Also have 16' enclosed trailer car drives in with tires on. $7000.00 Car must sell first though, or together.

Had this happen to me and it was a hard hit! Not fun.
Edit to add. There are no "crush zones" in sand/off road cars.

Kind of in same situation and your price you could get parting it out. Just hate to do it is my feeling.

I also think that would be a tough adjustment. While in the beginning you would be ok, I think as time went on it would grate at you, the money loss..
