We just bought the 800 series Bosch set for our place, so far we love them!

Good luck with those. Last year we just did our kitchen and were between Bosch, Thermador and blue star. We chose Bosch because of the coffee machine. We got the 800 series, fridge, oven, speed oven, coffee machine and dishwahser. We have had the tech our 6 times in the last 6 months (for the oven only) and the ice maker still doesn't work. The tech will only look at one issue per visit.

  2. Anything in Mission Valley will be your best best. Stay away from anything south of Downtown.

If you want to go big, stay in Mission Beach, Mission Bay (crown point), shelter island or anywhere on the water. Although the beach will suck if you have a trailer. Shelter Island has some nice hotels with bigger parking lots due to boat traffic.

BTW, there is not such thing as "cheap hotel" in San Diego. Maybe if you go to El Cajon or Lakeside. Then you can pay one of the 'lot lizards" to watch your trailer. LOL

  3. We have the same nets under our eves. There is a brown bird and bright yellow bird that hangout on our yard. They are a little smaller than a dove and have long tail feathers. They must learn to fly quick because I have never seen on on the concrete below.

Never heard of that. Do they sit in the filter area? They don't float around like my Chlorine tablets do in the pool do they? Peace

No, they are tubes and have slot to drop them in. One cartridge is bromine and the other is all the other good chemicals. I change the bromine about once a month and the other around every 6 months.

  5. Get as big of one as you can. They get tight quick. Nothing worst than touching toes with you buddies.

I have a Caldera. I bought it used and it has worked good. I have had to change both pumps but it is 15+ years old. It has the Frog chemical cartridge's. They cost a little more than adding your own chemicals but they regulate the bromine good. I do very little maintenance to ours and we use it 4-5 times a week.

  6. Anyone want an older Craftsman router? I think the switch is bad. It used to work and now doesn't but the switch was suspect before. I hate throwing old tools away. Probably a easy fix. FREE. I'm in Poway come pick it up.

Yes,a friend and I built it.

Did you go block because of the concrete counters?? I am debating on metal studs or wood studs. I'll probably go with some sort of hybrid metal down low and wood on top. I am still not sure what I'm going to do for counters. Some of the epoxy stuff is really cool.

Who did you use for your pavers and shade structure?

I am doing all the work. I have a general plan/idea in my head but going freestyle for the most part.

I don't have finished pictures but here is the idea. The structure is 8'x8' at posts and 12'x12' with overhangs. I want to build some sort of tiki bar/cooking area under it. The left side of the structure will be seating area/fire ring and the right side will be raised garden beds. I might build another shade structure over the hot tub when its all said and done. backyardpavers.thumb.jpg.f1208299f6a164ba700d795d094882a0.jpg

  9. I do have the 22" model with the removable legs (adventure ready model). It comes apart super easy and all stores in the motorhome compartments. It does come with a hood. It has both a hose for a big tank and adaptor for the small coleman type tanks.

I just ordered the wind screen and a cover.

We had ours sitting outside at Campland (right on the bay) for 2 months. No signs of rust. That was without the cover.

I do like it, other than it not getting hot enough. But hopefully the wind screens will solve this problem.

Get the wind screens or use Foil to block the wind, they suck if there is any wind.

The two burner Blackstone griddle part does need to drop into the holes/slots as well, I am sure you are doing that right, but double check.

I use a 5 gallon bottle with no issues at all.

I am dropping them in the holes, I noticed the standoffs that are welded to the griddle are a little longer on mine. I'll try the foil next time. Every time I have used it was at the beach and breezy.

  11. Yeah, I have used to different tanks and even a small coleman tank. I did notice that my griddle has a larger gap (maybe 1/4-3/8") between the griddle and the stove part than my buddies has. Maybe, I'll look into lowering the griddle.

I did find a 90 degree elbow adaptor to go from flare to blackstone.

  12. To start this, I have used a old camp stove and the griddle from my taco carts for motorhome cooking for a long time. The stove gets super hot and the griddle big and heavy. It gets very hot and cooks evenly. BUT it is heavy as hell and the stove is big. I decided to jump on the Blackstone train simply for the easy of packaging. I have used it for three trips now. It just doesn't get hot enough, especially if there is any wind. I run both burners on "high" all the time, anything lower and I don't think it would cook. I know about making sure the regulator is reset correctly and it is. Has anyone gone with a adjustable regulator or high pressure (red knob) regulator? Blackstone has a different brass threaded connection that I not seen on any other LPG device. Or am I just used to the higher BTU's and need to get used to the blackstone?? As of now, I am not impressed at all.
