This chopper had a landing gear issue at another base during takeoff and they did an emergency landing here, 6 miles from the old Holtville airport. They tried to make it to El Centro or Yuma but couldn't. The gear punched through the floor and tore out the electrical. It's been here since just before Vet's and they've been working on it. Had it on jack stands but today put it back on the wheels. There are 8 guys working on it and one stays the night for security. Super cool Marines and they'll let you walk right up to it and explain the systems. He told us two more were flying in around noon so we hung out and watched that. So badass!

It's about 4 miles south west or Roadrunner. Go 1 mile south to cross over the canal, make a left (south) and go 11 telephone polls. Make a right (west) and follow the trail and buggy tracks to the site. They are hoping it will be flight ready this week and they can get it out. He said they have no choice but to repair and fly it. Cannot dismantle it. This thing is 99' long. Built in 1983 and has 6000 hours on it. They retire the birds at 10k hours so this one is worth repairing.

    America!

    Epic bro!

  2. I like your style @ChEFF but question, any reason you didn't go Raptor 700R this time around? I find the 450 to have tighter suspension and can be rough in the chop. Sure it can be addressed but that 700R low torque is quite nice too.

Vin matched and checked. It was a one owner truck with maintenance records from the start.

Hey buddy, it's been a few days. Any updates?

Went and talked to the guys at Pro Gear in Kearny Mesa (San Diego). Great group of guys, if you need gearing, axels anything drive train go there. They recommended getting a super chips flashcal. It’s not a tuner but a calibration tool. It lets you set tire size, gear ratio and several other things that I have not played with yet. It gets your speedo correct and makes your mpg, miles to empty more correct and corrects shift points. Checks for codes and clears them.  Program your tire size 2” smaller, I have 35’s and set it to 33”.
    $250 shipped in two days.

That's great and all, but did they say it will solve your problem? I do love those guys tho.

So I bought the truck, really clean and drives great. But,

    Code P0630 vehicle not programmed.
2014 F150 3.5.  Turned truck off Friday night with no light, started Saturday morning and had check engine light before driving it. Drove it about 120 miles and still running great. I have found it might have something to do with bigger tires, I have 315 (35’s). The previous owner said this size tire has been on it since 2018. What is the fix?  The scanner code reader would not clear it. Can an off road warehouse type place clear this for me or where should I take it in San Diego?

So I searched on Google a bit and it sure sounds like the tire size is the culprit. It may have had a tune and it went bad or it needs one to be recalibrated like a hyper tech. When I re-geared my truck, same big tires the shop sold me that tuner thingy to get my shift points and speedometer back to actual. I used Pro Gear in Kearny Mesa. I would call them with your issue and see if they're familiar with that problem. I can bet they are. Good luck!

  6. The explanation was due to the limitations of the scoreboard. Basically crashes in a pause type of way. They never expected anyone to play it past 999,999 score. I remember playing it back in the day and it sure gets hard quick.

I was coming in there to mention how one of mine just cut out internally and it's less than a year old!  Sheesh! I was loving them and didn't say anything in that thread, but now I'm bummed! I'll need to reach out to them for a warranty but seems unfortunate and a big PIA.

edited to delete my deleted comment part about the other thread lol

  8. Bro, I irked at reading this thread but refrained from commenting. I'm so over projects it's not even funny. I think I'm just getting old, I dunno. As it is, maintenance alone kicks my butt between everything that burns fuel that I own. Every time I turn around, something needs attention. I'm also looking at enclosed trailers but this thread scared the daylights out of me. I'll just keep loading and unloading my flatbed that's been flawless for so long. Damn. Good luck man.
